Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Ronson picked himself up yet again, again forgotten. Surviving was nice, he enjoyed that. For now he could only contemplate his direction. There was forward, toward the wolves or backward, toward Santiago's remains. The police sirens cleared his head.
In respect for life and the dead, Ronsom headed back to the musuem. By the time he arrived he didn't bother to look for Iago's corpse, that would be a waste of time.
"...the Destroyer." That sounded uncomfortable, Ronsom listened a bit longer.
"Can I help?" A werewolf helping a vampire, wonder of the night.
Ronsom raised his hand in agreement, "Permission to come aboard Captain?"
They tensed up, well, more so.
"I've had the worst night of my life. Is it so hard to believe I'd like to see another?" Ronsom laid his swords on the floor, the empty autorevolver beside them. Both hands raised in surrender.
He could hear that voice chiding him.
"After you attack us?" Avlynn of course referred to the hummer.
"I was nearly run-over and then almost beheaded. Sure, why not, I'm sorry." Ronsom's head drooped, maybe they wouldn't notice his annoyed expression.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Stupid slayers.  Always ruining his fun.  Even when it came to one single human.  And this shirt smelled heavy of cheap alcohol and greasy food.

"I don't trust you Fen, and it's out of character for me to show this much mercy on a were' such as yourself. I would have put a bullet in your skull without a second thought, but something inside me said no. I pray it wasn't a mistake on my part."  He picked up the trucker's pistol and placed it in front of him.  It didn't even contain any silver.  Lev floored the semi and drove off leaving plumes of smoke.

"For cinematic effect."  Lev narrowly missing a man sprinting across the street.  The one who had first inspected their hummer crash.  Fen had a feeling he may be seeing him again.  Before Lev could shift it into second Fen whipped out his scimitar and levelled the blade at his throat.  Lev stiffened and eyed his gun but Fen laughed and withdrew his weapon.

"I love the smell of fear in a human.  It's very...intoxicating.  Humans reek of it in their final seconds."

But something was different about his smell.  Human...but not.  He filed it as information for later.

"You're one sick puppy."

Fen feigned offense.  "Please.  I'm one sick lycan.  But you said you don't trust me.  Probably no more than I trust you.  And I'd like it to keep it that way.  But right now I'm looking at the bigger picture.  You wouldn't want any past interactions to cause any reason for you to backstab me.  You know what they say about your enemys' enemy."

"Yah yah my enemys' enemy is my friend."

"Well I was thinking more on the lines of lunch but I guess friend can work out."  Fen gave him a grin.  "So.  How many of my kind have you killed slayer?"

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Emeline was used to working on her own, but under the circumstances a couple of extra hands might be worth the effort. “Okay, we need to get to Ansgar’s resting place before the bearer of the Amulet. You,” Emeline said pointing to the male vampire. “You had the amulet, where did it want you to go?”

“I had this pull to go north, to a graveyard.” He replied.

“We must go there, the new bearer of the amulet will be trying to get it to the same place.” Emeline told as she took up her weapons.

“What do we do when we get there?” the female werewolf asked.

“Make sure they don’t place the amulet on the setting stone,” Emeline told as she headed out of the museum, the male vampire and female werewolf following. "She turned briefly, by the way, the name's Emeline. Try not to kill me."

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Avlynn did not like the prospect of teaming up with a pair of vampires. She trusted neither and quickly dropped to the back of the group keeping Emeline and the male vampire firmly in her sights.

She was worried about Fen. He’d taken off with the slayers which was very un-Fen like. He generally liked to rip out their throats and have their entrails on his morning toast. Fen had a violent streak, but then most werewolves did at some point.

Avlynn had always been fond of Fen. She, Fen and Ian had been an inseparable trio when they were teenagers. The bloodlust that consumed young werewolves had been strong in all three. They had hunted prey in the forests, working together to bring down larger game.

But then they’d reached maturity and Avlynn’s bloodlust had subsided. Fen and Ian’s had remained, though perhaps less than it had originally been. As a young adult Avlynn had wanted to do things normal people did, go to university, get a job, find her life mate and start a family. Ian would have agreed to anything Avlynn wanted, she was aware of his attraction. However Fen had exploded at her dreams.

Avlynn had been devastated at Fen’s reaction, she’s always held Fen’s opinion in high regard. In all honesty she’d felt deeply about Fen and as she’d grown older she’d found herself drawn to him more and more. But the opposite seemed to happen to him. He had distanced himself from her, even taking girlfriends that seemed to be in complete contrast to Avlynn as if to rub her further the wrong way.

Eventually Avlynn decided that pack life was not for her, mainly because she didn’t want to be around people who saw her as a disappointment. Crispin, the pack’s alpha, was her uncle. He tried to coax her to stay, but he too seemed disappointed in her need to deviate from her nature.

To think it had been 23 years since she’d left. Things must have changed a great deal. She’d even avoided returning during the times of Luna Eclipse. She’d always managed to find a willing human partner, thought they never had the stamina of a fellow werewolf.

Now however was not time to dwell on the past. Fen was quite capable of looking after himself. Chances were he’d want to ambush the slayers. He liked playing with his prey. However Avlynn suspected that now was not the time to worry about slayers. This Destroyer had to be contained at all costs.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

There were only two cemeteries in Marley’s Point and only one of them was to the north. Emeline led, although she knew it wasn’t a great plan to have two unknowns at her back. Right now, however she needed to get to the amulet before Ansgar the Destroyer was released from his confinement.

She couldn’t return to her car due to the attention it would bring from the police. “Do either of you have a vehicle nearby?”

The werewolf pointed to the rear of the museum, “My pickup truck is out the back.”

“Great, we need to use it.” Emeline said as she turned in the direction pointed.

“I’m Avlynn by the way,” the werewolf said.

Emeline turned to the vampire, “You got a name?”

Before he could answer there was the sound of smashing glass. “Hurry,” Emeline said as she dropped into a run. She prayed that Mar had not sensed her and sent more of the Brotherhood.

The truck sat in the car park with a sparse few other vehicles. Avlynn grabbed the keys from under the back wheel guard. “It’s unlocked,” she told, “no one would bother stealing this old heap.”

The three slipped into the cab an onto the bench seat. “Fasten your seat belts,” Avlynn told as she jammed the stick into gear.

It only took minutes for them to reach the cemetery. “I can only park on the street, there’s no vehicle access.”

“This will have to do,” Emeline replied. She turned to the male vampire. “Now where do we need to go?”

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

(sorry its so short.)

Chaos exited his mansion and stood outside he could hear The Destroyer and still counting the seconds he began to fleeter from Jason Swamp to Marley Point, he moved fast and graceful without missing a steppingstone nor tripping. He was not far from his destination he knew were the burial ground was and he was not going to stop till he reached the amulet.

((Eh what the hell))

Drogan ran as if all the demons of hell were behind him and closing fast. The Amulet seemed to make him aware of every crack, every single pebble, every thing he could possibly trip on, anything in his way. Crossing a intersection, he had a sudden impulse to jump, which of course, he was powerless to resist. He did. Milliseconds later there was a car under his feet, the driver screaming in surprise. He was close now, the burning beacon in his head turned into a burning firestorm, ripping him forward on his own legs. He was less then a quarter of a mile away, Drogan could almost see the gate.

Chaos saw the vampire gun in hand amulet in the other. He could smell the silver bullets, Chaos reached for his own gun, his hand slid across his back and grabbed the gun.

"Lets make this even, i will turn human and we draw like they did back then."

Drogan nodded and let Chaos turn into his original state.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

After leaving Nasher with Lev and Fen in the truck, the party took to the road after Drogan. Dan was in the lead on his bike, his G36c clanking against the chassie of the motorcycle as it was strapped to his shoulder.

The team had to take some side streets to avoid running into police, but Fen was able to sniff out the vampire's faint scent and lead them in the general direction. A few minutes into the ride, Lev calls Dan for a halt. Dan slows down and pulls up beside the truck.

"Fen here says that were headed for a graveyard." Lev said out the window.

"...sounds about right. Its probably where the amulet is destined to go or whatever." Dan said

"Lets go, hes too far ahead of us already." Fen said. Dan nodded and the team drove off.

------------------------------------------------

The large stone monolith at the entrance to the cemetary named the place as Griffon Park. Atop the structure stood a majestic stone griffon, facing the East. Its massive form held fast to the tall obelisk as if guarding the graveyard from hard....or from something within.

The team pulled up and could see the gate had been forcibly opened. Beyond that, only fog could be seen.

"Pff, doesnt get much sketchy-er than this." Lev said climbing out of the semi.

"Mmm...well Ive seen worse." Fen said with a loud canine-like sniff.

"Lock and load ladies." Dan said, cocking the machine gun. He made sure all his combat gear was strapped down, his Desert Eagle was on his chest holster, and his new katana (that had been giving him an odd feeling...) was attached to his belt.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Ronsom stretched out and pointed to the Griffon.
"I'd assume on the other side of that. It's a vampire, look for newly moved dirt."
One dry rotted smell was akin to another. He wouldn't be able to pick the destroyer out in particular.
They moved into the cemetary in a sort of isosceles triangle formation, two vampires closer to each other than the werewolf.
Ronsom swallowed, all of a sudden fighting a weak appetite
Ronson locked eyes with the other vampire," if we survive, want to grab a late night snack?"

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

The lethal trio strode down the entrance of the cemetary, nearly at the game. Dan felt something heating up in his pocket...

"Dan, the stones." Lev said, opening his jacket and showing the red Vampire warding stone aglow. The yellow werewolf one were also glowing but that was due to Fen.

"I know. Too bright right now...they must be-" Dan turned to his left and everyone turned as well.

Out of the fog approached three figures. Avlynn was one. The other two pale figures were obviously vampires.

Fen sniffed again. "Avlynn, what the f-"

"Down boy...they're with me. This is Ronsom, and Emeline. Two vampires who also want to fix this universal problem we have."

"...I dont know how you put up with this Fortesque." Lev muttered to Dan.

"Have you forgotten what my brother is?" Dan answered back. Lev nodded in realization.

"Alright so we don't no much about whats going on, a stealthy approach will work best." Dan said, his mind began to race with his long military career, searching for the best plan.

"I don't recall nominating you as squad leader." Ronsom said without a hint of emotion in his gaunt face.

"Yeah? Well I DO recall be being charged with wiping your scum off the face of this planet." Lev spoke up.

"Uhhhh, no. Save it for the real trouble. Look, Emeline here educated me on whats going on. She's more involved than any of us, and has valuable information that could help us out. Lets listen to her for one second please...." Avlynn held her hand out to Emeline.

Emeline had remained in silence and her face showed she cared little for what was going on within the party. She kept looking into the graveyard, trying to cut through the fog to no avail. After a moment of silence, she accepted Avlynn's invitation and stepped forward to address the party on the truth about the amulet.

"Listen carefully, as this information will likely save your lives faster then your weapons will..."

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Mar Alom was already ready when his minion approached him. He could sense the amulet was already IN the cemetary. It appears the meddlers were more resourceful then he thought. He assumed it would take longer for one of them to pick it up and be consumed. He was always amazed by Ansgar's ability.

*poof*    The minion spoke in its inhumanly low voice.

"The amulet is-"

"Yes. We leave immediatly. We must remain in the shadows unless the fools somehow mobilize and begin to take the amulet away."

Mar stood and removed a small pouch from his belt. He closed his massive magic tome and slid it into the pouch as if it was the size of a pebble. It was the only thing he would need.

Mar motioned to the lone candle in the dark room with seemingly no walls or roof. The flame flickered for a moment and died. As the light fled the room, so did Mar Alom. Little did the wayward souls know what awaited them.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Fen had once again picked up the scent of the vampire with the amulet.  He seemed to be heading for Griffon Park.  Fen directed Dan to it and him and Lev followed.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the main entrance to the cemetery.  The gate looked as if someone with superhuman strength had forced it open.

"Pff, doesnt get much sketchy-er than this." Lev said climbing out of the semi.

"Mmm...well I've seen worse." Fen said with a loud canine-like sniff.  This cemetery had always reminded him place where he last saw his parents...

Mary and Aros Kalman sprinted off through the forest with their young son Fendren in tow.  The waxing gibbous moon loommed overhead.  The frantic cries of the human lynch mob led by the slayers could be heard behind them.  The had been separated from the rest of their pack and were running out of options.

"Ma?  Where are we going?  Why are they after us?"  The young Fendren looked up at his mother, his deep green eyes searching for an answer.

"Away from the humans.  They hunt us because we are different.  Most of us mean them no harm.  But they don't care.  They just kill."

"Oh."  Fendren didn't really understand what was going on but he just nodded as if he understood every word.

Aros grunted.  "Here.  This graveyard.  The locals are quite superstitious.  They wouldn't come in here at this time of night."  Two stone angels stood over the archway as if guarding all the souls that were buried here.

After some searching Aros found a dug out grave.  No casket.  Yet.  The three climbed in shivering in the night.  The yells and the screams grew louder as each minute passed.  Mary stiffened as the front gate creaked.  They were here.

"I've got to get them away from here."  Aros made to stand up but Mary hauled him back down.

"You can't!  They'll kill you for sure!"

"I might convince them I'm not a wolf.  It's worth a chance."

"Then I'm coming with you."  Mary turned to Fendren.  "Listen Fen.  I need you to stay here.  There are some bad men after us.  We need to hide."

"Are we playing hide and seek?"

"Yes.  You could say that.  Now you hide here and don't let them find you."

"Ma!  My teeth hurt!"  His mother quickly inspected his mouth.  His eye teeth tapered off into deadly looking points.  "Aros!  He's approaching his first transformation."

"Sounds about right.  He's almost 6 human years.  Full moon is tomorrow I believe.  Come on.  We must go."

"Now remember my little wolf, don't come out until morning.  Unless we find you.  We'll be back.  And be quiet!"

Fen whispered his agreement, "Okay!"  His mother nodded and gave him a hug hiding her tears from her son.  Fen's parents silently slipped out of the hole.  Fen sat alone in the darkness trying to hide his giggles.  Suddenly shouting was heard and two shots rang out and Fen quieted his giggles.  Something was wrong.  But he remembered what his mother told him and stayed in his hole slowly drifting off to sleep.

Fen awoke in the morning to the sound of a voice.

"My God!  There's a child in here!  Come on boy!  Grab my hand!"  Fen gingerly reached for the hand as he was pulled out.

"I'm Charlie, the undertaker.  What's your name boy?  What were you doing down there?"

"Fendren.  I was playing hide and seek with Ma.  Where is she?"

"I wouldn't know Fendren.  Come on, let's get you cleaned up."  Fen followed the undertaker out of the cemetery and into town.  As they approached the city Fen saw in the distance people laying down on the ground outside the city.  The closer they got the more curious Fen became.  He looked at the people lying on the ground and realized they were all dead.  And Fen looked upon two corpses he would never forget.  His mother and father.  Tears welled up in his eyes.

The undertaker noticed him looking and pulled him away.  "It is a terrible sight.  Some slayer came into town and enlisted the townsfolk into wiping out a pack of werewolves that were living near here.  They'll all be burned by morning.  Now come on, let's get you a bath."

Fen spent the day with the undertaker after getting washed.  Finally night came.  Fen was just heading inside when he looked up.  The last thing he remembered before blacking out was the full moon staring at his face.

Fen woke shivering.  He was propped up against a tree, his clothes tattered.  Fen looked down at his hands.  Blood covered his arms.  Fen gasped as the events of last night came back to him.  The undertaker and his wife.  Dead by a six-year-old werewolf's hands.  But Fen didn't care.  They took them away from him.  And for that, they would all pay.

Fen trudged on through the cemetery.  He remembered the feeling that night.  The power.  What it felt like to be the hunter, not the hunted.  The joy and exhilaration it had given him.  He still reveled in it to this day.

Dan, the stones."

"I know. Too bright right now...they must be-"  Fen smelled them before he could see them.  Avlynn. And two vampires?!

Fen sniffed again. "Avlynn, what the f-"  She cut him off.

"Down boy...they're with me. This is Ronsom, and Emeline. Two vampires who also want to fix this universal problem we have."

Fen tuned out the rest of the conversation.  Fen was reeling inside.  Twice today Avlynn had betrayed him.  As much as he hated the humans he tolerated her living with them.  But befriending the slayers?  Now vampires?!  Avlynn seemed to be inviting everyone into her life but kept turning her back on him.  Why did it always hurt like this?

((Sorry for the long post.  Had to get it out of the system.  I'll edit any mistakes later.  Tired.))

The bullet missed the vampire almost like he new it was coming. Chaos stood in ah but was able to grab hold of the vampire by his chest and threw him a couple of feet farther. The amulet began to shine and let off a powerful beam of dark energy, Chaos was automatically turned back to his vampire form form. Once again his gun was fired to the vampire but no more bullets only three hell hounds were released and Drogan had collapsed.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Drogan rose quickly, though not of his own accord, with the bearer's mind incapacitated, the amulet gained an embodiment. Drogans eyes turned black and his head snapped to the right. And off he went, moving much quicker then before and reaching the tomb of the Destroyer rather quickly. Soon it would awaken.

Drogan's mind burst into awareness, though he now had absolutely no control of his body, his thoughts were his again and he speculated upon what had happened and where exactly he was going. He also wondered at the wolf he had seen and clashed with briefly. And he wondered how he had managed to keep his hat. Such answers, he assumed, would come in time.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Black swore softly as the Peterbilt, now containing parts of the hummer crew  sped off.  One would think a vehicle of that size would be easy to follow in late night traffic, but as luck would have it, various drunk drivers and road hogs made it less than  ideal.  He was fortunate though that the combined scents of one werewolf, two humans, and the exhaust of the truck managed to remain quite... unique.

As such, he was able to follow without having to completely panic... even thought the truck did have a decent head start on him.  What was with him and running into the worst possible situations at the worst times?

You almost lost them there.  When will you realize the full potential of your true self?  As a wolf, you could track their scents to the ends of the earth and back!

"I will not use this curse in such a way."

I find it funny, Morgan, that you are willing to use it to the limited extent that you do, but are not willing to go any further.  Surely you realize that in this company, you are the most disadvantaged.

"As I am in no company, this fails to concern me.  And as for the others, why, it is but one other wolf, like me, and two humans; armed, to be sure, but only two."

And you think you can take them?

"What?  No.  I was just responding to your ... I don't intend to fight... never mind."

The argument continued in that way as long as Morgan held the scent.  Eventually, his tracking paid off.  Up ahead, he saw the parked truck; it appeared to be empty.  Black parked his cycle, and took Fate and Destiny from the saddlebags; slinging their sheaths over his shoulder, and securing them to his back.

A cemetery.  Quaint.  He heard voices up ahead, and headed quietly in that direction, enduring more snide comments from the Voice instructing him to accept the change and all its power.  he saw the source of the voices, and reflexively snarled.  The two humans were there, as was the male lycan.  Across from them stood another lycan, whose scent was familiar, and two creatures that smelled, well, like death itself.  Vampires.  Quite the diverse group.  The female lycan was speaking.

"... is Ronsom, and Emeline. Two vampires who also want to fix this universal problem we have."

Morgan assumed this 'problem' had to do with the strange teleporting caster creatures.  His common sense told him to walk away, leave this town, and not get involved.  but rarely had he listened to the voices in his head.  So he went with his gut impulse, his instincts.  And he spoke up.

"I ride into town, and nearly get run over by a Hummer being hijacked by a vampire, and immediately get attacked by teleporting magi.  I've had a long night, and none of it particularly pleasant.  So I have to ask.  What exactly is going on in this place??"

Due to maintenance problems, the light at the end of the tunnel will not be in operation today.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Re: RPG: Supernatural II: Rise of the Vampire Mage

Emeline stopped speaking, as she was interrupted and frustration was evident on her face. Everyone else turned and looked at the newcomer in wonder and bewilderment.

.....

"...do you have a late pass?" Dan asked, crossing his arms and looking to the sky, wondering where all these people were coming out of.

"What?" The new comer asked, furrowing his brow.

"I was just going to explain when you intruded. Take your place and please just let me continue..." Emeline said

"Wait wait, no. We know nothing of this person! How can we trust every vampire or werewolf or, in your cases, humans who come up?" Lev said

"There are deviants among every race... We should be more cautious here." Dan agreed. The slayers were growing ansy.

"Indeed. Who are you, and why should we not kill you?" Ronsom inquiried.

"My name is...Morgan Black. I've never seen some of the things Ive just seen tonight. Some of the things in question tried to kill me. This is probably the most interesting course of actions ive run into, and I'd like to see it through." Morgan answered.

"Very well lycan, allow me to continue..." Emeline said. She could smell that he was a werewolf.

Chaos was cut off by the vampire with another hit to the jaw. Chaos copied his exact movements as if his own, he was able to snatch the amulet and knock the vampire out. The amulet began to glow and shoved itself into the opening in his chest.
