Re: Silliest star wars secret

Not All of them.
But answer me this.

WHy In Star Wars A New Hope does Obi-Wan say when he Met Luke's Father he was a great pilot but in Star Wars Episode 1 he was just a kid?

Why was Jar Jar even In it?

(Those are both Rhetorical questions)

The answer is he talked to his Kids about what they wanted....

Thats right its all their fault....
I was just using Episode 1 as an example but you see in various interviews how
"Well My Kids thought..."
and
"I talked to my Kids about it...."

Now my good friends you can see the proof of the pudding...
we shopuldn't blame Lucas or his multiple chins
just his foolish trust in his kids points of views....

Re: Silliest star wars secret

Well it fits doesn't it. hmm I mean, Anikin was a boy, but how many boys can pilot that good at that age? hmm? But Jar Jar.........thats the kids fault.........I just know it.

Re: Silliest star wars secret

Q: WHy In Star Wars A New Hope does Obi-Wan say when he Met Luke's Father he was a great pilot but in Star Wars Episode 1 he was just a kid?
A: "I'm the only human who can do it.", and at such a young age too! Also, in ROTS in the beginning we see a lot of great piloting skills from Anakin. How many other people do you know who can touch a starfighter to another starfighter, in the middle of a battle? And how many others can almost single-handidly land a burning cruiser that's meant to be flied by several hundred people, I think? I don't think he said when he MET Anakin he was a great pilot, I think the "met" line was about how strong Anakin was in the Force, which Obi was. "Over 20,000!!! Even Master Yoda doesn't have a midichlorian count that high." See? wink

Q: Why was Jar Jar even In it?
A: Why not? I never saw what the big problem with him was. I like Jar Jar. He's a good character and has a lot of importance to the story.

And I think TPM was one of the best episodes of the whole saga. Once when I was watching it I even broke down crying at the end, it touched me that much. And when you watch all six back to back, I hear it's the perfect introductory to the saga. TPM is like the brief calm before the storm. But it's actually so much darker than you'd think if you paid attention and watched it closely.

Like I said his Kids were involved in many of the ideas
Lucas told people in Interviews.

And the point I was trying to make about Anakin being a little kid instead of a great pilot was not.
He wasn't a greta pilot in Episode 1

but he was a little boy

And the queen was 14 years old???

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THAT THATS MORE THAN STUPID?!?!

Yeah, its kind of dumb.

Boba: Lord Vader, I bring good news.--Vader: You have captured Solo?--Boba: No.--Vader: Then what is it?--Boba: I just saved 15% on starship insurance by switching to Geiko! {MW}

Re: Silliest star wars secret

Ok, we could have Padme be 30 in TPM. But then when AOTC comes around and Anakin's 20 and Padme's 40, their relationship would be kinda odd, wouldn't it? Besides, as Padme said, "I wasn't the youngest queen..." Apparantly Naboo girls mature fast or something.

And the reason it appears that Anakin aged more than Padme is that, by 14 you've grown pretty much as much as you're gonna except in a few places. I've been 5'6" since I was 12. The only thing about me that's grown is my shoulders, hips, chest, maybe my face a bit. But Anakin's only 9, turns 10, in TPM, between then and 20 he's gonna grow a lot taller, spread out a lot more on the shoulders and face... So, when comparing the two, you'd think Anakin's grown more than her, and he has. But only cause of the age difference, and how tall he's gotten. Padme's grown too, if you look closely at pictures of Padme in TPM and Padme in AOTC.

Anakin was a good pilot in TPM. When you were 9, could you have survived a space battle? Or a podrace? In a videogame, maybe, but not in RL. When you were 9, I bet you couldn't even have driven a car easily, and that's going slow, like driving down your street at 10 mph. Anakin was racing at speeds of 700-900 MPH. But he didn't have to be a "great pilot" in TPM. You expect a 9-year-old to fly with Rogue Squadron or something? Anakin was 9 in TPM for a reason, to show the connection to his mom being broken, leaving home at a young age, his childhood, etc. It wouldn't have worked if Anakin was in his 20s already, cause by then he'd have grown enough that he could easily leave home.

I thought Padme was 18-20 in TPM. hmm Wouldn't that make A LOT more sense? I mean, who is that beautiful at 40? Not a lot of people.

Re: Silliest star wars secret

Or you could put it this way.
George DOESN'T Listen to his Kids "Relating to a character" tactics and make Episode 1 like Episode 2 in terms of age. He's the Obi-Wan of The Phantom Menace and Obi-Wan's the Qui-Gon.
Only he doesn't die.
They Queen is the same age as Anakin and they start ot hit it off and that continues into Episode 2 which is set just a few months later. (Instead of like 10 years.)

That WHOLE plot makes a billion Tons more sense. Plus you don't get some annoying little (Expletive deleted) playing one of Star Wars best loved characters (Darth VAder) I mean Hayden Christensenn wasn't the greatest actor ever. But he was a lot better than JAcob whathisname who played him in TPM.

Also some idiot decided that Attack Of The Clones would be a Romantic Comedy.
You didn't get THAT in the original trilogy did you?
AOTC was great!
But the obvious attempt to make it appeal to girls made me sick!

Especially C3-PO's STUPID "I'm so beside myself" and " Oh what a drag" jokes.

And girls are the thing that make the world go round. Come on, loosen up. Girls are AWESOME. The idea of someone hating something just because it is beuatiful, makes ME absolutly sick.

Its just Lucas's attempt to try and expand Star Wars to more girls.

It's Sci-FI!!!!

Re: Silliest star wars secret

There had to be romance. We can't have Anakin and Padme to go, "Huh, you're cool." "Yeah, I like you too." "Ok, let's get married." "Ok, sounds fun." It has to show it happening...

Though I do agree with you on the jokes, they are bad.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the Han and Leia relationship. sorry big_smile Yeah, in the Anikin and Padme relationship, the jokes wern't supposed to be cheesy. Like when Padme said "Are you making fun of me?" and Anikin said "No, I'd be too loyal to make fun of a senator." and then they both laugh, or somethin like that. Is that what your talkin about? Stuff like that?
