Re: The smells of Star Wars

I don't understand the question. There has to be something there for you to smell. Do you mean what do our dvds and vhses smell like? Or do you mean what smells do we think of?

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

Re: The smells of Star Wars

I think he means that sometimes memories sometimes get attached with smells. Like one may associate the smell of a wood fire with Christmas because of family traditions of a yule log for example. I personally think this is an odd thing to think of with SW.  Smells in general a vague to me, as i can't smell say 90% or the time or things.

I smell cleaness, white. And the firm smell of iron. And steel.

But most of all I get that feeling of awe and emotion, like when you look at the stars on a clear night, when the temperature is just right, even with the gentle breeze touching your hair. A feeling of pure spirit, of amazement and total...

Some may run a short while, but none of them would bide.

this sounds like a question my creative writing teacher would ask me.................. so i shall not answer     tongue

Re: The smells of Star Wars

On Tattoine there would be the stench of Bantha manure. On Naboo there would be the chlorophyll scents of the forest. Anywhere there is a laser or Light battle there would be a burnt smell from whatever got hit. What the food(s) smell like I do not know; some of that would depend on what species is preparing it. Oh, and on Dagobah I can smell the rotted vegetation of the swamp. I am not clear about the starship fuel having a scent. Would be like fossil fuel? I hope I did not take this thread too literally, it is starting to make up more questions than answers.

It smells like a stuffy room that needs the window to be opened. (Where I watched movies)

Re: The smells of Star Wars

Depends, when I think of the old trilogy, I smell fresh air, intertwined with the smell of metals, some times dampness, inbetween mold.  Other times, I smell fresh warm air, with strange fragrences (flowers?) wafting through the air.

When I think of the new trilogy, basically everything above, but more "fresh" if that makes sense.

When I smell pizza I think of Star Wars because the first time I saw it and could actually rember that what we were eat'n. Than again no matter what I smell, see, touch, or hear I think of Star Wars.

Re: The smells of Star Wars

Sometimes, when the weather is just right I'll get this feeling, it can be in the summer, fall, winter, whenever, but it has to be outside. I smell something and I ask myself 'What does that smell like?' And quite honestly, for some reason, I think it smells like Star Wars. then I get flooded by memories of things in the past. Sometimes I can look out a window and it looks like Star Wars, I don't know why. Overall though, the smells I associate with Star Wars are summer, sun, early morning, fresh dew, and so on and so forth.

Re: The smells of Star Wars

My earliest memories are of Return of the Jedi. I'd say the smell of moss would be the reminder for me. Especially when Luke and Leia are zooming through the trees of Endor.

They probably would use something like shower gel in the Star Wars universe.
