Topic: Posting suggestions

Well, I have a few suggestions for changing around the posting box. See this picture. As you can tell, there are BBCode tags, just simply click on it, and it automatically puts the tags into your post box. There are also some pre-made smileys, you could just put in the Boba smileys there. There is also the addition of colored text, which would be great to add with the old school bold, underlined, and italic. I think this would be a great addition, as some people would find this very very useful to their posts.

Re: Posting suggestions

We'll consider a plug-in for making linking easier. As for colors and more icons, not on these boards; content comes first.

Re: Posting suggestions

I actually don't like the little smilies on the side and never have.  Other boards have that and it ends up with younger kids tending to over-use them quite a bit because they are a bit more accessible.

I think its clever that they use the Boba Helm instead of a yellow face, but I see your point, sometimes a short post thats just a few lines of text but has like 12 smilies really bugs me. Mainly when it doesn't contribute much in the 1st place

Re: Posting suggestions

It's not that I don't smilies it's that I prefer them not to be in quite an accessible place, which in turn can lead to the overuse.  It would be pretty hypocritical if I said I didn't like smilies at all.  smile  But the Boba helmet smilie is great.

Re: Posting suggestions

Ohh suggestion. Think before you post, because you might be typing something you will regret later. I think i need to work on that.

Another thing, try to avoid doing anything I do, because stuff usually ends up bad for me, or others as a result of my actions.

Re: Posting suggestions

well now that i think of colored text wouldn't really be needed. thanks for the consideration though, aaron.

Re: Posting suggestions

But the rest of the BBC code thing would be useful.  For putting links in and italics instead of the "[ ]" and "[/ ]" commands.

Re: Posting suggestions

Actually the plugin thing bugs me, because unless you highlight it puts the [] right next to the end[/] and you have to copy paste and stuff.

Re: Posting suggestions

I think the code plugin thing would be good. I would probably never use it cause I'm too lazy to do anything besides quick-post, but for others it would be good.

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

well you already have to copy and paste a link anyway, what this does is save you the time of having to stick in the tags. cuz when u do, it comes up like this, where all you have to do is stick the link in.
