A thundering explosion came from the passaged leading right. "We go left" Kainth said, taking the rear guard He walked, glancing behind them every so often, his grip on his lightsaber causing his hands to numbs.

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

(...sniff...RIP, BOY...)

Blood hammering in his ears and the weight of his overheated Heavy Repeating Blaster on his back, Warchylde takes point, leading Zeta Squad towards the next point between them and RC-01/42. According to his HUD, there were readings that suggested a couple of temple guards nearby.

<No games> Warchylde thinks to himself, <Games is how Boy got taken out by a lucky Jedi di'kut. It won't happen again.>

He hears a shuffling sound in a nearby corridor, and swing his DC-17 in that direction.

"You see something, vo-o-o-aaaaggggggkkkkkhhhhh..." Nek pipes in before an invisible hand yanks him off his feet like a ragdoll and slams him into the wall to Warchylde's right, neck at an unnatural angle that could only mean one thing.

Warchylde and DogBite unleash a hail of blasterfire at a young, but unnaturally quick Jedi running their way. Ponytail flailing behind him, he sommersaults over the two commandos and tosses his whirling lightsaber at the cieling. It doesn't take long for them to reorient themselves at the target, Deeces spitting out hot fire.

"Fierfek, I didn't know they could do that," Warchylde says as the kid Jedi seems to absorb blasterfire with his bare hands, lightsaber cutting a large circle in the cieling above him.

"Just keep up the shots, I think we're wearing him down" DogBite counters.

As if he heard what DogBite said, the kid gives a wicked looking smile and, with a clenching fist and pulling wrist motion of his right hand, wrenches the remaining durasteel cut from the ceiling and flings both arms in their direction. The still smoking disk, edges glowing white hot hurtles in their direction. Warchylde dodges just in time to see the Jedi brat hurl himself up into the new opening, lightsaber and all. He swings his Deece at the hole, hoping to get a few shots off.

"Wait...let 'im go, vod'ika" DogBite sounds like he's in pain. Warchylde looks at him and sees him on the floor, clutching a bloody stump at the shoulder. The severed arm, and blood around him on the floor and on the durasteel disk tells the rest of the story.

"Osik, DogBite. We gotta get you to a medic." Warchylde can barely speak.

"No time, grab Boy, Nek, and my armor tallies. Take 'em to Kal'buir. Tell 'im I'm sorry." DogBite whispers.

"Fierfek, DogBite. You're not even that badly injured. We can get you new arms like mine and you'll be back in no time." Warchylde says.

"Look, vod'ika. You gotta get the holocron to Commander Appo, fast. Only way to pull that off is through who knows how many Jedi. I still gotta couple of thermal dets on me. That should be enough to slow 'em down." DogBite reaches into his pouch for the holocron and Boy's armor tally, and removes his  tally, placing them into Warchylde's hands.

"Fierfek, vod. Y'know Kal'buir's gonna kill me for letting you guys get killed. Then he's gonna have a med droid bring me back to life, just so he can watch Rav kill me." Warchylde pockets the holocron and Dogbite and Boy's tallies.

"Hurry up, Private. You got a wounded Commando counting on you. That's an order." DogBite gets up and wraps his shoulder, as Warchylde grabs Nek's armor tally. DogBite grabs a few more explosives, from Nek's body, then catches Warchylde staring at him.

"P for Plenty, Vod'ika." DogBite says.

"And I'm the crazy sheb?" Warchylde asks mockingly.

"Didn't I say move? Go. Now." DogBite says.

"Yessir," Warchylde switches back to his HRB, feeling the ghostly weight of his squadmate's armor tallies, and runs off in search of RC-01/42...

Gaunt, kneeling in a shadow, looked up as he heard foot steps down the hall. He stood up and waved over to the black-armored commando. "Over here." The commando joged up to where Gaunt was. Gaunts looked behind him. "Wheres your squad?" he asked.

(you got it right, Mandal. No Mel, DB got his arm severed by the durasteel cut out of the ceiling by the lightsaber Zett Jukassa (yep, the one and only) flung at them, not the lightsaber itself.)

Warchylde looks over at RC-01/42 and his HUD shows him this Commando's rank is Sergeant. He shoulders the recently cooled down HRB and snaps a salute. "Sarge, three of my squadmates were terminated by the enemy forces. RC-2150 was heavily wounded and gave me explicit orders to retrieve you and complete Zeta's very important, primary objective."

The Sergeant gave him an obvious look of curiosity, as if telling him to elaborate. "Where is RC-2150, Private?"

"Unknown, Sarge. I know he's heavily wounded and packing some serious demo kit, Sir. He may be planning a big surprise to slow down the Jedi, so I can finish my mission...ummm, our mission, Sir," Warchylde's unease was apparent by his posture.

"Do I make you nervous, Private?" asks RC-01/42.

"No, Sir. I just feel less sure of this mission, now that my squad's gone." Warchylde's glad for the moment that his helmet hides the tears welling up at the loss of his brothers.

"What does your squad call you, ner vod?" RC-01/42 asks.

"Umm... Warchylde, sir..." says as he uncomfortably shifts the HRB's weight on his shoulder.

"Demo specialist?" The Sergeant asks.

"P for plenty, Sir." Warchylde straightens with a burst of pride.

"Good. That's what we need. Let's go deliver this...this..." RC-01/42 trails off.

"Holocron, sir." Warchylde finishes.

A long whistle emanates from RC-01/42, "You're right, that is very important, Warchylde. Let's roll."

"Yessir" Warchylde steps in line behind the higher ranked Commando.

"Call me Gaunts, or Sarge."

"Yessir, I mean Sarge." Warchylde says.

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

Gaunt quickly takes the place of Warchylde missing Sarg, hoping to fill one of the many gaps in Warchylde's heart. He looks over his shoulder at Warchylde and says:
"Where's are EVAC supposed to meet us son?"
Warchylde looks up and says itll be in one of the uper hangers. Gaunts nods, and they both move off to a Gravlift. We come out of the lift with rifles raised. But in vain, the place is desserted. We move down one of the main hallways, both of us hugging the wall, we hear footsteps coming from down the way we just came. I motion Warchylde to take cover behind a crate, he readys a thermal...just incase.

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

Deilor cursed under his breath.  This hallway was riddled with blaster shots, and littered with the cold corpses of the dead.  Someone would pay for this.  Up ahead, the two Masters motioned for him to follow; he was lagging behind.  He obeyed their instructions as best he could, still doing his best to repress his anger.  He would unleash it when the time came, he decided.

Due to maintenance problems, the light at the end of the tunnel will not be in operation today.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

(ok, me and Mandal discussed this.)

Kanith had point agian, somthing wasnt right. His eyes were continously drawn to a crate by a wall. There was a window wall to the left a door was at the far end. They were about to pass the crate. A small sound came from infront of them. Kanith looked down, and saw the thermal detonator. He threw it out the window with the force.

"Ambush!" He yelled, as a clone commando dived out from the crate. Kanith lost his saber, the metal cylinder rolling out the hole in the window. The commando was on him, tinted light played across the emotionless visor.  A sharp pain shot up Kanith's side, he had been stabbed. He kicked the soldier off of him. "Run!" He yelled, pulling the kinfe he had hidden from his robes. The other clone brought his gun to bear. Kanith took a second to slame him against the wall incapacitating him. The other soldier swung a massive vibroblade at him. Kanith dodged, the partialy healed wound in his side tore open again. He choped the soldier in the throat, and the commando grabbed it. Kanith pulled the helmet off, and raised his knife.

The glass behind him shattered, and he began to turn. A hand was placed on his shoulder, and a blade slipped inbetween his ribs. He fell to his knees his vision fading quickly. He heard some one yell somthing, it sounded like 'master' followed by somthing he thought was his name. He looked up. A girl stood in a door way that seemed miles away. He raised his hand. The girl was pushed back, through the door. A small kinife, raised, and flew. In the increasingly dark hallway, he saw a bright spark, and the door sealed itself shut.

As 1121 stood up, and 01/42 replaced his helmet, ARC-5728 called "Kain" by his superiors, placed his finger in the small ring on his vibroblade, and spun it quickly, replacing it in it's sheath.

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

"No!" Dah'lei cried as she felt Kanith's presence disappear from the Force.

"We have no time to mourn him," Cin said as he grabbed her arm to keep her moving.

"We've got to get out of here before they kill us all," Dah'lei said as she realised that the Jedi were not winning against the clones. The fact that the temple was filled mainly with Padawans and younglings didn't help. But that's what Dah'lei couldn't understand, why were they killing the children.

At that moment Anakin Skywalker turned down the corridor to which they walked, his dark presence was almost overwhelming to Dah'lei. "Don't fight him, just run!" she told the others.

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Warchylde shook the cobwebs out of his brain, rage flooding in to sharpen his focus.
He took stock of the newest arrival, resheathing his vibroblade knife with a little too much fanciness.
<Fierfek, we got a showboating ARC saving our shebs. Boy and Nek would never have let me live that one down.> Warchylde thinks.

"Well, aren't we a fancy boy. Good thing you joined the party. I was gettin' sick of knockin' Jedi around..." Warchylde jokes as Gaunts' T-visored visage turns in his direction.

"Careful, vod. I don't think ARC's are known for their sense of humor..." Gaunts warns.

Kain looked at Warchylde. The ever-so-slight body language clearly stated that Gaunt's statement was correct. He said nothing, being a man of very few words, unless he felt differently. He looked over towards the door. He stepped on the body of the fallen jedi, as if it were simple rubble, he drew his DC-17s, and headed to the door.

(Sory about the rudeness, but Kain isnt very social, you cant blame him really, He never knew his mother, and his father died probably before he was born big_smile)

"Guess rudeness wasn't a gene trait worth removing, huh Sarge?" Warchylde says on Gaunts private helmet comm frequency, not entirely sure he could succeed in keeping the ARC out of the conversation, anyway.

Gaunts was torn between keeping the peace and laughing at Warchylde. <Poor guy must be suffering and using humor to keep himself going. Still we have a holocron to deliver.>

"Sarge?" Warchylde asks, bringing him back to reality.

"Stow it, Private. Haul your sheb and get that cannon of yours ready. It's gonna get messy," Gaunts commands.

Kain stopped at the door. The control panel was damaged, and the the door was now effectively sealed. He looked back at the commandos momentarily, then continued to examine the broken panel.  He turned. "Do you have any breaching charges?"

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

"Does a nerf steak go well with a Gizer ale?" Warchylde says as he reaches into his kama and pulls some det tape, charges and a couple of triggers out. He motions the ARC and his new Sarge back as he unslings his Heavy Repeating Blaster and places it gently on the floor, petting it lovingly. "Down, girl. It's okay, Daddy's got work to do..."

He lays out a clean strip of det along the door seams and places the charges at the sealed door's weakest points of integrity, whistling a jizz (SW music) tune as he works. It doesn't take long as his nimble prosthetic hands and fingers move rapidly. He steps back with the trigger in hand and admires his work. He then picks up his HRB again and pets it, saying, "You see? Daddy's back. That wasn't so bad was it?"

Both Gaunts and the ARC are staring at him as he shrugs unappologetically and says, "Ready when you are..."

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

(Well, this had to come eventually)

"You run on ahead, the hangar is just a few more feet, and then cut into the floor. Good luck."

Those were the last words of Cin Drallig as he went to fight Anakin Skywalker. A few more Jedi dropped in front, and then it was quiet. The two stood, staring at each other like never before. Cin could still hardly believe what was happening. Anakin Skywalker, The Hero With No Fear, The Hero of the Republic, had turned against his fellow Jedi. Realizing that it was a lost cause, and he'd eventually die tonight, Cin charged as a true Jedi. The duel began.

"Well, Skywalker, one shall stand. One shall fall."

"The Dark Side guides me. You will fail."

"Master Drallig, they're everywhere!" said a distraught Bene as she came running from nowhere.

"Bene, no!"

It was too late. Cin got kicked aside, and Anakin went to duel the Knight. Instead, he force-choked her. Cin was still on the ground when he heard a loud thump hit the ground nearby. About to get up, Cin screamed in pain as a lightsaber went through his heart. Darkness became one with his eyesight, and the pain started to ease.

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

Dah'lei ran like there was no tomorrow and chances were that there wouldn't be for her.

Deilor was running beside her, "He shouldn't have stayed he should have run."

"He was trying to protect us," Dah'lei said and then she heard and felt Skywalker's pursuit. "Go!" Dah'lei shouted as she stopped and ignited her lightsaber. She knew she was no match for Skywalker but she'd at least try. Suddenly there was an explosion and a chunk of wall blew out knocking Skywalker off his feet. Dah'lei felt her arm yanked by Deilor and they continued running.

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Re: RPG: Jedi Purge

(Just thought i'd add to the ambient.)

Denen Clo'yth sat, huddled in the corner of one of the many rooms of the Jedi temple. Him and the other younglings with him had run when their teacher had been killed by the soldiers in white. The clone troopers.

Denen had his knees up to his face and his pants were soaked with tears. The rest of the younglings were either crying also or just in silent fear at what was happening. The sounds of battle grew louder and louder.

Denen wanted his mother. He did not want to be a Jedi anymore. Jedi wern't supposed to die...never. Yet his teacher had been mercilessly oblitherated by a thermal detonator just a while ago and all her students fled, including Denen. He unhitched his practice saber from his belt and looked at it. He was no Jedi. He tossed it aside and continued to weep.

"Is the door locked?" Asked Crysta, one of the younglings.

"Yes, its one of the codes known only to Jedi, so any Jedi Masters who come can open it and save us!" Replied Ajell. Ajell always tried to save the day. But he couldn't save it this time, Denen knew.

"Ok, everyone! Calm down. We'll make it out of here! We're Jedi we can do it!" Ajell said to the group. Denen scoffed, the last shreads of hope Ajell hung to were pitiful. Everyone else in the room mearly looked at Ajell, no one said a word. No one believed him.

A beep sounded from the door. All eyes flew straight to its direction. It hissed open and a brown robed figure walked in. Everyone peered under his cowl to see who it was.

MASTER SKYWALKER! Denen thought. ITS MASTER SKYWALKER! THERE IS HOPE AFTER ALL! ITS THE HERO OF THE REPUBLIC! Denen stood and wiped away his tears he walked towards Master Skywalker

"Master Skywalker, there are too many of them. What are we going to do?" Ajell told Master Skywalker... he would know what to do.

Master Skywalker looked back at Ajell with a stern expression on his face. His lightsaber ignited. Ajell shook in surprise. All the younglings in the room looked from the lightsaber to Skywalker's face, and back to the lightsaber.

With a flick of Skywalker's hand, Ajell's head was sent flying off and hit Denen in the chest. It knocked him backward and he fell to the floor. Tears burst from his eyes again. The younglings screamed, and died. The tears clouded Denen's vision, he only saw a blur of what was happening.

The last thing he saw was a bright blue glow heading straight for his face.

((I never did like that bit of the movie, anyway I figured a story like this needs a snoopy reporter...))

Name: Jalegg Nifta
Gender: Male
Age: 48
Afilliation: Republic Citizen - Member of the Media
Weapons: A small blaster which he has no clue in how to use.
Armor: A blaster proof vest, worn under his clothing.
Appearance: Balding brunette on the portly side, wears a brown suit with ornate gold edging.
Personality: An aging reporter who's been in the top out of the game for some time. He's used to being the boss and has grown complacent and chubby with it. He hasn't been in the field for some time and has forgotten how dangerous it can be. He wants to relive his glory days and doesn't care how he does it.

Jalegg was flicking through the holonet channels and couldn't believe what he was hearing - the Jedi had turned on the Republic. It was one of the best stories ever!

Jalegg had been fielding a multitude of calls from his broadcasting company but now he wanted to know more. Being on the top floor of his building, Jalegg could actually see into the Jedi Temple. There was something going on in there. Jalegg had been using his microbinoculars to see into the distant rooms. There were flashings of lightsabres and blaster fire, but as for detail, it was certainly hard to make out.

Jalegg felt adrenalin pump through his veins, he had to get over there. He knew it was near impossible, the Clone Troopers were blocking all the known exits but Jalegg had a source that could possibly help him out.

Jalegg dialed the service technician for the Jedi Temple's power relay, "Hi Beb, I need to get into the Jedi Temple, please tell me there's an access port I can get through?"

Beb scratched his head, "Why do you want to go there, it's under lock-down?"

"As a member of the public and media, it's my responsibility to bring the true story to the masses." Jalegg told in typical reporter fashion.

"Yeah, yeah keep your hair on." Beb replied.

Jalegg curled his lip at the comment, he had little enough hair as it was.

"Okay, there is a service port you can access from the underground, but I'd seriously suggest you avoid it. There's a lot of bad things that deep under Coruscant." Beb warned.

"I've got a blaster, I'll be fine." Jalegg replied arrogantly.

Beb shook his head, "You'll need more than that. But don't say I didn't warn you."

Jalegg ended the transmission and readied himself. He was getting into that Jedi Temple if it killed him.
