Topic: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

I'd always thought it was a Bantha skull, myself. Then a few days ago an acquaintance contradicted me. Wikipedia and a handful of websites reference it as being from a Mythosaur, which is something I confess I've never heard of before. Neither has the Databank. The common verdict seems to be that it's a Bantha skull, but the reasons for it being of Mythosaur origin seem to make more sense.
My question is, then, is it from a Bantha or a Mythosaur?
And, because I know at least one of you out there probably knows, where were Mythosaurs even mentioned? Comics, those little guidebooks to everything in a category, the magic of the Internet?
Thank you. I trust you guys to know the most out of anyone about this.

If those were my last words, I can do better.

Re: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

The Bantha Skull is what it was always called before, but recently in Insider (I think it was?) they said it's a Mythosaur, I forget right now what one is, though.

Re: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

Before it was always meant to be a Bantha skull. But I think with the new insider, (as Miba said) they are changing things around...

Re: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

Mythosaurs are a new invention, BUT when I was reading Marvel comics the other day, there was an issue where Leia and 3PO were on some planet where they ran into Fenn Shysa.  It might have been Mandalore; I haven't read the whole thing yet.  Anyway, there's a big skeleton on the front and in one of the pictures, and it has two tusks and looks SUSPICIOUSLY like the Mandalorian skull.  So that's my theory for the time being.  (Which means I will have to scan my comic book and send it to the Admin so you can see it.)

Re: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

It's not a Bantha or a Mythosaur.
It's a Barve.

Yes, that's the name of the comic book the picture was in.

Re: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

I thought a Barve was a type of person? In Tales from Jabba's Palace, Boba's story is "A barve like that", and Boba says, "You don't eat a barve like that all at once" or something like that.

Re: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

that was a methaphor. THe barve that is refered to buy the sarlac to Boba, could do tricks and loads of other cool stuff(can't really remmber) but was still a barve which would be eaten. But it was too good to eat at once. Boba was the same, he was interesting to the sarlac, but he was still food. So he was going to be eaten, just not all at once.

It was more of a joke, really.
"You don't eat a barve like that all at once!"
Anyway...I had always thought it was a barve for some reason...but that's just me.  I don't think it had a definitive meaning until they invented the "mythosaur"....

Re: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

yeah, bantha's dont really inspire any type of fear. I imagen Mythosaur to be similar to Kryat Dragons, but bigger.

Re: Shoulder Skull Species of Origin

Well, Krayt Dragons are already pretty huge...
They could have come up with a better name than "Mythosaur", though.

Yeah, it doesn't sound very . . . mythic.  It sounds like a name a little kid might give it.
