Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

and i read somewhere on-line that trebor's lightsaber wasn't for attack, but for defense, and defense sabers weren't very good at blocking....

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

No there is not such thing.Lightsabers are used both for attack and defence. It is the stance the Jedi studies and uses that affects this. And Coleman was trained in Ataru, which was an agressive stance and didn't concentrate in deflecting.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Trebor was surely not weak,or else he wouldn't hold the title of Master. The point is that  Trebor considered himself to be more of a diplomat than a fighter, and was known for peacefully settling a number of interplanetary disputes. Though capable of aggressive negotiation, he preferred words over action. So aggresive negotiations just didn't help there...they weren't his strong point.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

....so what your trying to say...is trebor was not very experienced in fighting but making peace with the seps

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

No he was experienced in fighting.  But he was only good at 1 form.  And generally people didn't make peace with the Seperatists.  More of a peace keeper for inter-world problems.

but the whole point in that fighting was to try and make peace with the seps and the sith lords   big_smile

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Boba was around twenty years before Jango.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Thats another reason!

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Draco, you have a very good point.  Lucas probably saw how much fans loved Boba, and made the second prequel movie with Jango solely to exploit that.  Now, if so, that is going a bit far, in my opinion (Nothing against Jango...unless he was only made to enhance Lucas' ratings...).  Now, I like the character Jango just fine, nonetheless, he takes back seat to Boba Fett, him being the original, as Draco said.  Without Boba Fett, there would be no BFFC, no whole mythos behind him.  And we'd all lose out on an awesome character.  Now, without Jango....well, we'd be pretty much where we were before Attack of the Clones came out.  and not the worse off for it.  Personally, we could stand to lose Jango more than we could Boba.  Which is a major reason for my preference of Boba.  That's just my two cents.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

come on people ur being so mean to jango most people just watch ep. 2 and say wow he sucks then agian if you think back bobas "death" in qoutes was pretty terrible to. i still like boba better but think that jango deserves some credit. did any body read the jango and zam wessel comics he was ok in them.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

I'm not saying Jango completely sucked, and I'm not insulting the death scene (although it was bad, but Mace was being pretty ruthless).  Boba's wasn't sop great either.  The "deaths" of the characters have no impact on my opinions of them.  I've stated my reasons for supporting Boba.

I have come up with a myriad of reasons as to why I dislike Jango.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

I'm not sure about Jango. I think Jango's a lot cooler than Boba BUT Boba would probably beat the crap out of Jango in a fight because he's so much smarter abd use his surrondings to beat Jango.

I'm just helping Boba Fett and killing wookies for him.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

instead of looking at all this arguing, i'm simply gonna state that Jango deserves more to be a Fett than Boba because without Jango, there would be no Boba.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

That has already been said but it is not true because Boba was created before Jango so without Boba there would be no Jango.

Boba is an unadulterated clone of Jango, so how could he come first?

Actually you can find draco's complaints almost in every thread that mentions  Jango. tongue

In the SW world,Jango comes first. In the real world,Boba comes first because he was created so long ago by Lucas.

Dude you dont listen do you Boba Fett ws created before when the prequels didnt exist therfore he was around first and without his popularity i doubt they would've created Jango.

Obviously there has been a misunderstanding. But I understand. When people say that without Jango there wouldn't be a Boba they mean in the Star Wars Universe, not in real life.

It's clear by now that not everyone has the fondest feelings towards Jango Fett.  If you're one of those who hates him, explain why.  Or, if you think he's great, tell us why he's worthy to be Boba's father.

Worthy to be Boba's father!?! Just because he got kiled by the second most powerful Jedi at that time everyone thinks he is a wimp; I bet Boba wouldn't have survived if he fought Windu on Geonosis.

I'm just helping Boba Fett and killing wookies for him.

Anyways the only thing I wonder is exactly why he killed Zam? For some reason I still don't get it. I would've tried to poison Obi Wan and/or Anakin. ( although things might have been worse if that had happened)

The rockets caused a huge explosion; one would have been enough.

-He hired other mercenaries to do the jobs that he was hired to do.
-He used his ten year old (roughly) as bait against ruthless anachists.
-Under his leadership, the Mandalorians fell.
-He keeps his armor much to shiny for a warrior. He would be spotted easily.
-He is too trusting, for his trade.
-He is too cockey.
-Instead of following Windu, he could have waited in the balconey, and sniped him out while the Jedi was fighting.
-He does not wear his helmet enough. Theis leaves a killing shot by a sniper very possible.
