Topic: 1978 Boba Fett Rerelease

Hasbro should rereleas the orginal star wars toys the ones from the 70's and 80's sure all these new ones with all the flexibility are really sweet but how bout some old school toys. I just got the orinal slave 1 from 1981 yesterday cost me $125 and it is so sexy the only thing it is missing(too make it better not what it was really missing when i baught it) is that old Boba Fett that fits in the cockpit, all my other fett figures do not fit cause they're so much larger, but the jetpacks fit real nice.

Whats your opinion? should they rerelease them for all of us who arrived in the world to late to get them the first time? or just leave them in the past?

dont you think the old style figures would look really cool in your star wars collections?

We should make a petition and circulate it through all star wars fan sites for the rerelease of the old figures.

Here here, bring on the old figurines! Surely they still have the old molds somewhere...

Re: 1978 Boba Fett Rerelease

ya know how much of a pain it was to get old george to release the unaltered original trilogy?  despite guarenteed sales of the product?  imagine that all over again.  but it would be really cool to have the lightsaber shooting out of the arm luke again.  or the alec guinness obi wan.

Re: 1978 Boba Fett Rerelease

I think george didnt want to release the unalterd orignal trilogy cause theres some aspects of it he doesnt like, its the same with the Holiday special. But I'm sure he would'nt have a problem with the old figures being released again, they'd be sold out in no time. They really need to bring them back, cause alot of us dont exactly have $50,000 to spare on toys.

I don't know.  I'm still waiting for them to come out with a "Life Day" Chewbacca figure.  Red robe and all.

The old ones have the copyright dates molded into the inside of the figures legs.  I'm not sure, but I think that's how you can tell if you have a loose "Star Wars," "Empire," "Jedi," or "Droids" version of the old figure.  Although the Star Wars and Empire versions probably have the same dates, I'd imagine, since they didn't do that many runs of Fett on the regular Star Wars backing card.  I've never seen a loose Droids Fett figure, so I don't know if the date is the same as the Jedi figure or not.

Anyone out there know about this for certain?
