Topic: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

As a man who has recently broken out of a 2 and a half year relationship i now see something that i never have before. Karen Traviss is the perfect significant other for any Fett fan. whether it be male or female relationship. Now my ex g/f was big into Nightmare before christmas, that was her thing and starwars was mine. each and everyday i would tell her something new and interesting about Fett or SW in general and as my g/f she tried to take an interest but it wasn't her thing so she didn't really have it hole hearted like i did. Now Karen Traciss is an established Sw writer (which is a major perk for me because i write books also and hope to break into the SW scene too soon) which means if she was your significant other she would share her writing ideas with you and probably ask for your advice...which means you find out major plot points and new info before the rest of the world. how sweet is that...u'd never run out of things to talk about which can be a problem for some married people and it'd probably be about SW! cha ching! so now that we have established that their would be a love for SW this union is going down the right path to seeing the 63 year anniversary which of course as everyone knows is the dress like a mandalorian anniversary. this brings up my next point...she writes about mandalorians...and one in specific recently...Boba Fett! now here is another great thing to have in common...Boba Fett! Now if a marriage can't last on Fett alone im not sure what can in this type of relationship( j/p...no im not..yea i am...maybe wink ) but the love for fett is quite the thing to have in common...which also means you get all the juicy details about Fett too before it is released into the world. so now most of you are thinking right now...you cant base your love life on 1 single thing ( though if you had 2 what better then SW?) Now as i recall a good portion of the active members on this board are between 13-34? so i ask you is she not the perfect woman?

Re: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

Interesting idea. However if you both agree on everything Fett it could become a little boring.

See I love Star Wars but my hubby loves Lord of the Rings. So we have some pretty interesting discussions. He may not big a big Fett fan but we really do enjoy picking on the crappy acting of Anakin and Padme tongue

What does she look like...Cos I imagined her as a 50 year old wrinkled fatso.

Re: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

I have never seen her, but I think Dageen shouldn't think about her like that...

Dageen, at least I am waiting for your Boba Fett books to be published.

Re: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

Go to her Livejournal Website, it has her picture and everything, or look in the back of TZ.

Karen Traviss is actually real friendly, but like you said, talking about Star Wars all the time can be a little boring.
Not to mention She doesn't read fanfictions, and she is usually VERY busy.

If you want to email her, i can give you her adress.
( She usually accepts questions or FAQ )

i see what you mean i just think it'd be a pretty sweet deal for any fett fan and also dont just pick on annie and padme, i must say that Liv tyler wasnt that good in Fellowship... but i do understand

and also The Cloner i don't actually write Fett novels i think it'd be to emotional to possibly write about Fett and it not be accepted by the fans *cough cough Ailyn Vel cough cough* but i do hope to one day in my golden years to make the biggest compilation of Fett's missions and bountys from all the authors who do write about him into one giant encyclopedia.

and Humorbot5 she aint a grandslam but it's the inside that counts ( and all the starwars info inher brain wink )

All you have to do is try, Dageen.

Re: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

Re: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

There IS a picture of her in the back of my copy of "Bloodlines". She has black shoulder length hair and fair skin. Her eyes look like they could be either blue or green.

Re: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

just google or yahoo her in images, its easier

I don't think the acting of Padme was that bad.

I hope you make the Fett encyclopedia. I would buy it.

I don't think you'll need her star wars info if you read all the info that's posted here. Plus there's wookiepedia.

And you can always write that comedy, it would sell. I like humorous fan films and books (link to one of the best fan films is in my sig, watch it! (and Boba Fett is in the film too) it's made by the people who made TROOPS. Why isn't this film mentioned in the multimedia section?).

I'm sure you could go out with someone perfectly nice with plently of Star Wars knowledge who doesn't look like Jabba's Offspring...

And yeah Karen doesn't look like Jabba's offspring in reality....Still if you imagine plain people to look really ugly it makes it less of a disappointment wink

Speaking of which, is her next Legacy book gonna have some more Fett in it?

Cos I'm reading Tempest and it seems to have a lot to do with Dark Nest which the author of Tempest wrote...

Is this something thats gonna happen with all of them?

Although I cannot remember far enough back to anything Aaron Allston did....

Re: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

I remember reading that all 3 authors sat down and discussed story lines and where they were all going to meet up and how it would play out. So odds are that in Legacy Fett will be in it one more time ( hopefulyl she doesn't actually let him die) but it doesn't mean Traviss will write it i think Denning has the last book so how all the story lines end may be up on him, but witht he colabiration of the other authors. and wasn't the Darth Who? contest for Traviss' next book so she may be writing about Jacen and not about Fett at all.

Re: Karen Traviss: The Perfect woman

If she's as perfect as your making out..She won't kill him...

And that Darth Who thing just serves to annoy me. I live in England so "I'm not allowed to vote"
Its a  load of bull I tell you!
I had some great names...that actually meant siomething....Besides I thought it'd be cool if he was Krayt. Not that I would have voted for thew name "Krayt" anyway.

I bet his name will be something stupid like "Darth Evil" or "Darth Cheeky" or something a three year old would say....
