Topic: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

Hey, sorry I haven't been on a boards a lot lately.  Been busy with the Air Force Weather School stuff.  However, I just wanted to let everyone know that the new Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out and available for purchase at the Random House site.  It's only about $4, and it lets you download it into the format type you like.

Catch you guy's this weekend.  Have a good week.  Enjoy.

Reading e-books give me migranes, but there will probably be a summery up fairly soon.

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

Maybe one of your friends on the boards who has bought it can e-mail it to you somehow?  I'm not entirely sure how the e-book thing works, but I'll have to read it at some point.

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

This is heavily DRM protected, so no e sharing.

The old man bought a copy last night, and wanted to print it out at work to read at his lesiure. (Because he also wanted to torment his devoted wife, by reading it first).
Anyway, we couldn't even transfer it on a data stick to get it to his job.

I store all my ebooks on a datastick and read them on my laptop.

This story I'll need to read on the computer in the office. A drag. But it's only about 40 pages, so it will go fast.

The old man gave his opinion to me this afternoon on the way to Popeye's. He said that some of the things we ponder over are explained, like why Fett stops being a lone operator and starts to run with the tribes. (Mandalorians).

I'm saving it for the weekend to read. It will complete my 5000 words read by the end of August challenge.  I'll report back once I've done it.

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

Print screen it to paint and print it that way, or something? Theres always a way around something.

Half Dragon, half human, 100% Fett!

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

Yeah, I was dissappointed that you couldn't print it out, too.  I like being able to read something on my own time, myself.  I'm not a big fan of having to read long stuff like that on the pc.  I love messing around on the computer, but it still seems easier to read long articles on paper than it does on the computer.  Especially something like an essay or a book.  If anyone finds a way around this, please let us know.

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

Just finished A Practical Man.
I'll write a review tomorrow. But for now: WOW!!!!
I am impresed, and I'm not a cheap date.
I am going to say something VERY heretical, but, I really liked the Mandalores, perhaps more than Fett himself in this story. Now, one of the reasons I liked them is really lame: has to do with fan fic. But I'm a geek, so I being lame is a mandate that I take very seriously.

But of course, I liked Fett.
There were interviews after the story, and based on what I read I can't wait to get my hands on Bloodlines.
The story was 66 pages. Excellent.
I heartily recommed A Practical Man.  Totally worth having to read in the office. (By the way, there is some method of transference but involves internet stuff that is probably very easy for all of the techno inclined, so never fear.)

Only sixty six pages, and it does not expire? I could probably mange that.

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

I downloaded mine for the Adobe version, and it ended up being 106 pages.  Still good reading, though.  Haven't finished it yet, though.  Not good at reading this on the computer.  I would have probably finished it by now if it was in paper format.

I will probably download it for Microsoft Reader.

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

If/when I get this, I was thinking of going with Adobe myself...I have never purchased an e-book before, so there is no way to save it to read later? or are you able to access it anytime after purchasing it?

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

You're able to access it anytime after you purchase it, but you can't transfer the file to say, a work computer, and read it there, or so I hear.  That's because of the encryption in the file, apparently.  The good thing about the Adobe file, is that it opens back up to the last page you were on when you closed the file.  That way, you can pick up where you left off.

I know! Take a good picture of the pages off the computer with your digital camera, transfer the photos to yur computer, and e-mail it all around!  Whoever does it is a hero to us all.

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

Might be bad quality though. Sometimes taking pictures of computers doesn't really work out.

I do, however, still reccomend using the print screen.

But didn't someone say that wouldn't work?

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

I'm like that too--I like to read on my own time at my own pace.  I do hope this novella will be out in print at some point in the future!

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

They'll probably throw it in with another book as an extension on the end...they do that all the time with e-novellas, just to get some extra money out of it.

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

I noticed that--I was surprised to find that I did actually have a couple of e-books in print included in some of my many SW books!  I was a bit disappointed when I found that great book list to see e-books listed and I thought I had missed on having any of them until I flipped through Tatooine Ghost and realized I had "A Forest Apart" in the back!  Then I found a couple others!  I'm just wondering what book "A Practical Man" would come out in since it takes place before the Legacy books, and I noticed the e-books are included along with books in timeline order (so far).

Re: Boba Fett: A Practical Man e-novella is out

i used to have a program that let you copy anything on your screen and print it, it was for an art program i had, i wonder if i can dig it up and then we could use that to copy it and find a way to print it.

I don't have any either.  I did have a debit card, but almost just as bad, so no cards anymore!  PayPal is the only thing I have online, so I was trying to find a site that accepted that.
