Re: Silliest star wars secret

I think he's talking about the 3PO jokes in the end. "What a drag", and "I'm quite besides myself". Not to mention something I cringe at every time I watch it, is when R2 pushes 3PO off in the factory and 3PO looks super-fake during the falling scene when the droid picks him up by the leg and drops him.

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

Oookay, I missed a LOT while I was gone for a day. I bet that Lucas got the ideas for the prequels from Star Trek Fans. And clowns. I hate clowns.

I'm not an incompetant Dumb ***

I was complaing about the worst, Corniest, STUPIDEST! JOKES EVER!!!!

Especially C3-PO's STUPID "I'm so beside myself" and " Oh what a drag" jokes.

I wasn't complainign about girls liking Star Wars either. Thats fine.

Its just Lucas's attempt to try and expand Star Wars to more girls.

It's Sci-FI!!!!
Yopu either like it or you don't
Trying to make it a romantic Sci-Fi comedy was not going to get More Viewers or fans.

It just caused to irritate me!
Surely I'm Not the only one?

Alright, dude. I'm sorry. And I have to admit, the jokes were pretty stupid. But it was the late 70s......so......

but I strongly agree with Miba. You have to understand his love to understand why he turned to the dark side.

                                                       {MW} TW hmm

Yeah I agree with the love part too. That not what I'm trying to get at...

What I hate is all the stupid jokes in the prequels (especially Episode 2)
and Jar Jar Binks
and the idea that Anakin and Padme should be so young in Episode 1.

And I know George Lucas got some inspiration for these parts from his kids.

Oh and as for Star Trek Fans being the reason. Well, if you head over to the Trek Boards there's quite often a Star Wars Thread. And its very similar there to how it is here.

And as for Clowns. Well we all hate clowns

When my parents took me to see SW I was scared to go up in the balcony so I crawled up the steps crying like a baby, granted I was 4 years old back in 77.

My Star Wars secret is that when I saw EP.4 I thought the dew backs and those long necked creatures were dinosaurs, I aslo thought that in EP.2 Jango was Bobas brother and that the Jedi were cloned as well tongue

Re: Silliest star wars secret

also, last night i had a dream where i teamed up with Jango to pull in a bounty on Boba and we landed Slave 1 IN my house and caught Boba IN MY bedroom and we flew to a planet that was flat, in a circle nd the builcings (2) were about as big as the standard computer monitor.  and Jango and I turned Boba in (he looked weird in an orange jumsuit) and then I went over to sell Slave 2 to the second building which happened to be a KDY dealership and inside it was like Dick's sporting goods and once i went inside Slave 2 shrunk down to the size of a model (5'' by 3'' or something) and I sold it for five bucks and they put it on the little toy shelves in one of those plastic containers that you cant open without a blow torch and then I was plotting with Jango to buy Boba's ship back and bust Boba out when I woke up

Re: Silliest star wars secret

I got that Boba marriage dream from the old boards if anyone remembers that.

I never could remember what movie Jabba was in, I kept watching Empire Strikes Back and then realizing it was Return of the Jedi at the last minute.

Well lets see... I once had a 30 minute "Trivia off" with my friend because he implied that he knew more about SW than me. (No winner in the end, we settled it with rock, paper, scissors).

Re: Silliest star wars secret

I suppose I am quite late. Anyways, years ago I used to have an opened "Power of the Force" Fett figure. I had absolutly no idea who he was, so I got my dad to dunk him into a bucket of purple paint. Rather ironic, I suppose.

Re: Silliest star wars secret

Whenever I was watching the scene in ROTJ, where Luke is pwning everyone on the skiffs above the sarlacc, I would jump around with my toy lightsaber and "kill" all my little brothers and sisters. I was like 4, and at the time that scene was the most invigorating thing in the world. Just made me want to fight stuff.

Re: Silliest star wars secret

I feel for ya TW. Funny thing 'bout the group was that it was mostly gals like me. There's a lot a Star Wars fans in my area. I remembered two other secrets...i went to the local music store and bought a Star Wars practice book for clarinet. And at every football game, my marching band plays "Imperial March" up in the stands, and after we finished it one time me & my section yelled "Boba Fett will crush you!" to the other band. Re: Silliest star wars secret

Weeeeelllll......
There was this thing...
*sigh* Ok folks, story time, bear with me here.
I was about 5 when I first saw Star Wars -the whole Trilogy- (in school, teacher was lazy, last days of school).
I was fascinated with the 'guy with the cool helmet'. I later found out, from my dad, that 'his' name was Boba Fett.
....

.....

Here comes the sillyness: I was confused as to why everybody thought Boba was a guy. If this dude was as cunning, ruthless, and all around kick-ass as everybody said he was...then it had to be a girl.

So yeah, the first 6ish years of my StarWars fan life I was abosolutely and totally convinced that Boba Fett was a girl. And wouldn't that be the ultimate disguise? If everybody thought you were a *guy* in Mandalorian aromor, and you were a *girl*. Then nobody could find you out-of-armour. They'd be looking for a human male....

So...yeah...don't laugh...please...I was young and wanted a strong female hero...

And the nagging doubts in the back of my mind despite numerous cannonical proof have no validation....or so you think....

(and yes, yet more sillyness....I have a lot):
1- I jumped up and yelled "Nooooo" when Mace cut Jango's head off....then stalked out of the theater muttering about 'that Flanneled-shirted SOB', Lucas was of course forgiven latter....
2-shortly after afore-metioned incident my sister bought a Mace Windu action figure...my dad still doesn't know how those little flecks of melted plastic came from in the drive-way...and my sister doesn't know why her Windu figure is sans-head....
3- For most of first grade I ran around with a bucket on my head with a black T painted on it...and was continuely amazed by the fact that I couldn't see and was running into stuff.
4- ....I have a replica blaster under my pillow....no reason...at all....just.....it seems cool.... >.<[such a dork], but a dork with a blaster.
5- I bribed a theater owner for his AOTC movie poster, it's huge...and cost me $50...but it was *movie poster* not the 'movie poster' that you can buy at a Wal-Mart. *the* poster for the movie....
