No he didnt, he died because of his jetpack, it has nothing to do with intelligence.

Boba did not die when his jet-pack went hay-wire, and the Sarlacc is much more dangerous than Mace Windu. It also states in the official "New Guide to Character" that Jango rellied on brute force, not intelligance.

Re: jango's death

Boba was obviously much better than his father, so he could survive worse. Plus the Sarlacc didnt slice off his head, it tried to digest him. Boba was still alive in the Sarlacc, but when your head is sliced off, then your gone.

Jango hires assassins (Zam, Sing) do do the dirty-work that he was hired to do. He also sent his son in as a distraction. He is unintelligent because he used two wrist-rockets to kill two guards, who were running away.

Maybe he was just showing off...

One rocket, or even two blaster bolts would have down the job.

Boba uses rockets on individual people...read Death, Lies, and Treachery again.

Re: jango's death

Yes, but Jango used two wrist-rockets on two guards at the same time. One rocket would have worked just fine. Also, the guards were running away, I highly doubt that they posed much of a threat.

Re: jango's death

Jango wasn't as heartless as Boba.

If you've played Bounty Hunter, you'll realise that Jango wasn't ruthless like his clone, to a certain extent.

Jango gave people chances, Boba doesn't.

That does not really have anything to do with the debate, but Jango was still pretty heartless:

Police: "Put him down now."
Jango: "As you wish."

Jango then proccedes to drop him off of a belcony. That was from the game.

Yeah guys, but a person is not judged only by one good/bad deed, but the overall good/bad deeds.

Re: jango's death

He hires people like Aura Sing. He took a job to execute a group of anarchists who were basiclly just trying to save there children. He sent his son in as a distraction against said anarchists.

Re: jango's death

in a way, i agree with Draco here. Although, i don't think Jango was a complete coward. Yes he hired people out...to me that only says that he is his own company. The empire hired people out...but that is like...a ton of people.

Re: jango's death

I was always under the impression the reason Fett hired out Zam, in order to originally prevent exactly what ended up happening.  It was, per Dooku's orders, so no one could trace the assassination back to him, and then to the Clone project, and then to Dooku.  However, that all went up in smoke when Zam got caught and he had to kill her.  If Obi-Wan had never identified the origin of the saber dart, then things would've been different.  No one would've been able to trace the assassination back to Jango.

Re: jango's death

MandalorianSpy9, the Empire did not get hired to kill people, though. Sadriel, that is true, but Jango also hired Zam, Aura, and some mercenary whoes name I do not remember on other ocassions (as stated in the New Guide to Characters).

Re: jango's death

I'll come out with it plain and simple,....it was the reek who trampled over Jango and that's what left him dazed and confused, hence not moving out of the way when Mace Windu was swinging his lightsabre. Besides, Jango relied on mainly brute force rather than wit, thats what killed him. Where as Boba is more of the type to get into your head and mess up your life, Han Solo is a sort-of-example.

That is why Jango is a terrible hunter. Boba does rely mainly on intelligence, but he puts Bossk (who is like a Sumo-wrestler on steroids) in his place on a regular baises.

Re: jango's death

But Boba is Jango's equal physically, perhaps even his better.  Combine that with his intelligence, and he's altogether better than Jango.

Re: jango's death

i agree with spideyfett here     Boba IS  better than jango...but it took some work to get himself there..if ya know what i mean.

There is no doubt that spidey is right. Jango is less smarter than Boba.......straight up......
