Topic: How should Boba Fett be portrayed in the future?

HI BOBA FETT LOVERS!

This time I would like to talk about something more enjoyable. I would like to give my opinion on how should Boba be represented in the future, and how the things we will see about him should be focused.

Boba Fett is a well-known Bounty Hunter, with many adventures to talk about and without a doubt, a great story behind him.
So taking advantage of those facts, it would be a very good idea to mix all those ideas, and make a spin-off (in my opinion the best ways to represent them would be comics and films) about him, talking more about his perspective as a Bounty Hunter, and how does he perceive the situations that he has been going on.

There should be two spin-offs:

One about his past, which let us know how his life as a Bounty Hunter had been,   the first people he met, the people he worked to, the first missions he had to do... -Just to know more about Boba's personal life, and how it has evolved over time.

And another one which talks about his future, about what happened when he escape from Sarlacc: where did he go, what new people did he meet...
The changes it meant for Boba, changing the people he works with, to the new planet where he went to work/live...

Boba Fett is a really interesting character, and there are many different ways and possibilities to explain his future and his past, and obviously, many of those ways can be great. The important thing is to focus on Boba's life and make a good story with all the things we know about him, and expand them with new and innovative things, making a new Boba Fett story.

What do you think? Is there something you want to know about Boba's future or past? Let me know!

See you soon!

Re: How should Boba Fett be portrayed in the future?

Very interesting! Two films.

For the "young" Boba, we did get a bit: Attack of the Clones and The Clone Wars.

For "Return of the Jedi" and the downer with the Sarlacc, most fans surely want that story developed in the current canon. In legends, we got so many different ways Boba escaped the pit -- some better than others (aka "Jawas of Doom" is a hoot, but "the Sarlacc found me somewhat indigestible" was fantastic).

If only getting one film, if ever, would you want the "young" tale or the story that pulls him out of the pit?

If I had to choose, I would prefer a film about his future, about what happened after Sarlacc “ate” him, because as you said, we know something about his past thanks to The Clone Wars. So yeah, I think people (including me) would be more interested in a new canon which talks about Boba’s future, because there have been a lot of different theories about what could happen.
What do you think?

Post-Sarlacc would be great. But what about more of the middle years, like pre-Empire, too?

Re: How should Boba Fett be portrayed in the future?

My take would be different. A mandalorian born on Concord Dawn is conscripted as a stormtrooper and is present during the sacking of Mandalore where Boba is present, after witnessing what happens to his people during the battle, he decides to desert, Boba is then killed in an explosion, but his armour is intact, the trooper takes Fetts armour and identity. At the time of the OT 'Fett' is knocked into the pit due to inexperience. The rest of the story would go on to show the new Fetts rise to unite the Mandalorians.

Your idea sounds very good! Really like it, and it could be very interesting to watch! But I was talking more of a series in which the main character is Boba, so we can see him more in action, and of course, to know what happened to him between The Clone Wars and Episode V, or in case he survived, what happened with him after he fell on the Sarlacc... There are different possibilities.
But anyways, your idea is brilliant and it calls my attention! Thanks for sharing that!

Re: How should Boba Fett be portrayed in the future?

The main basis for my idea was that it never sat right with me how they retcond Bobas back story from being Jaster Mereel journeyman protector of Concord dawn, to clone of Jango. The above gives a way of explaining why the fabled warrior was taken out by a lack of spacial awareness and restores the Fett clan as mandalorians. It would make an interesting plot twist in a Boba Fett series to kill him off after a season or two.

Re: How should Boba Fett be portrayed in the future?

I find the idea of Boba Fett being a mantle of sorts to be intriguing-however I had also entertained the idea of a story set some years in the future. It would begin shortly after his escape from the Sarlacc, and the injuries he suffered as a result of being exposed to the beast’s powerful digestive fluids. While not fatal, had left him with lasting health problems that would require regular drug treatments.

After a long hiatus/recovery he would re-emerge back onto the bounty hunter scene, and while still a skilled and formidable hunter, the combination of age and side effects of his Sarlacc injuries force him to come to the realization that if he continues down this path he will end up getting himself killed.

A chance encounter with a young orphan who reminds him of himself as a child, begins to open his mind to the idea of training this young child to carry on his legacy, and eventually take on the mantle of Boba Fett.

The overall plot is not that dissimilar from that of ‘Batman Beyond’, I know, but nonetheless I think it would be neat to explore.

-UR DEAD MEAT BOBA FETT!!!!

-Many have tried-none have succeeded.

Interesting! So Boba Fett would have a mentee? I like your idea! I would personally prefer to see Boba Fett as the main character on the series/film but yours is good thou. So, the supposed child would also wear a Mandalorian armor or not? What would you like to see smile?

Re: How should Boba Fett be portrayed in the future?

Oh don’t get me wrong!-I want to see Fett front and center in a film/series-and I had even written a few short stories years ago (late ‘90s) exploring that-unfortunately they were similar in theme to the old Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns-which is basically what ‘The Mandalorian’ is currently doing.

I had even given the stories titles like ‘Fist Full of Credits’, and ‘Outer Rims Difter’. All of them were set in the New Republic era, and had Boba Fett as a wanted man by The New Republic for various crimes committed during his employ with The Empire. This forced him out of the Core Systems and into the Outer Rim territories, eking out an existence as a hired gun and bounty hunter, all the while trying to keep a low profile.

Amazing! Is there anyway I can read them? I would love to!

I still have them somewhere on a floppy disk (remember those?) buried in my storage unit back home with a bunch of other Star Wars memorabilia.

I need to dig some of that out and share with the community!

It would be amazing! Maybe on the “fan fiction” section. Let us know with a post if you find them! :D

Re: How should Boba Fett be portrayed in the future?

To take his place among his fellow Mandalorians as a Leader and King, not the one wielding the Darksaber, (that in the future will turn out to be Sabine Wren again) but in the same role as Duchess Satine once occupied as Ruler of many Mandalorian systems. His time as Dimul prepared him for this.
