Previous years relied on browser cookies, which could be deleted to vote again. This year, it's fancy and we can't quite figure out how they're doing it. There's some AJAX. There's Disney's API server. While deleting cookies can make you think you're voting again, there's a JavaScript warning that notes a "409 conflict" if voting twice. We're impressed.

However, this year the vote tally is visible before voting. (It was always showing after submitting one vote, even on repeat visits to the site.) This gives casual fans a way to see who's more popular already, rather than a standard blind vote. Maybe it's affecting the totals, maybe it isn't, but it's different this year and we're not fans of it.

Furthermore, as of 4pm on March 18th, we've seen some social media posts that the poll is hackable, seeming to accept more than one vote from the same person/computer without any errors. This suggests the poll is, like in years past, not an accurate popularity contest.

Finally, An Individual Release Date for Disney Infinity 3.0 Boba Fett

Updated March 1, 2016 10:38 pm • Published March 1, 2016
Written by • Filed under Collectibles

disney-infinity-3-0-boba-fett-march-15-2016

This March 15th, you'll be able to find individual Disney Infinity 3.0 Boba Fett figures in stores in North America like GameStop and EB Games. Both game stores had this information publicly available for over a month, so today's late announcement is no surprise.

Previously, the Boba Fett figure was a timed Sony exclusive in 2015 and, while slated for release in January 2016, they pushed it back, leaving fans in the United States stuck with either international imports (as global retailers got Boba Fett first) and collectible scalpers (where they're all marked up eBay).

The official confirmation comes via Disney's official Twitch account, specifically at 12 minutes into the broadcast.

Crochet Boba Fett: Everything You Need to Know

Published February 26, 2016

Just in case anyone needs a weekend crocheting project ... or you want to make some friends from a galaxy far, far away.

This photo of a crochet Boba Fett with C-3PO comes from telshira, who posted a lot more photos of this series on Imgur. For one of many crochet templates to make a doll just like this, check out Craftsy.

boba-fett-by-lucyravenscar

There's a popular smaller scale one, originally done by Lucy Collins (aka lucyravenscar). She originally sold the "amigurumi" template on her Etsy and Raverly, but she removed it because she has now an official Star Wars Crochet activity book (see Amazon.com), which includes more about it.

Other fans have done crochet Boba Fett hat / beanie, perfect for cold weather. There are so many variant patterns of this, and sellers come and go (and some knock off the work of others), it's even hard for us to follow. One good place to start is a search for "Boba Fett hats" on Etsy and then weigh the price and ratings to choose wisely.

We found another fan who made a crochet Boba Fett bag, which looks like a fun variant.

Spotted in 2015 at Baylands Park (Mountain View, California) by wcolby1, a plane enthusiast who shares his findings on YouTube.

Phil Haney also tried making one with the Power of the Force 2 Boba Fett action figure. Check it out how "how to" process with taping a quadcopter on to the acton figure at Break.com.

Last year, Olivier C made a Millennium Falcon drone out of a modified quadcopter, which he showed off in a YouTube video.

Is That Boba Fett's Slave I Pictured on a LEGO "Rogue One" Backdrop at Toy Fair?

Updated February 2, 2016 11:19 pm • Published January 29, 2016
Written by • Filed under Collectibles

Spotted moments ago on Twitter: "More #LEGO #StarWars Reveals from Nuremberg" in this photo and caption via @StudShooter, which appears to show a Firespray-class ship like Boba Fett's Slave I (if not the real deal) alongside "Rogue One."

[UPDATE #1: We've spoken with StudShooter to check if he shot the picture. He didn't. We then worked to track down the original source using some reverse image searching, which led us to PromoBricks.de. Photography was prohibited at the event, so the original photographer may be intentionally anonymous.]

[UPDATE #2: It appears to be a photo of the 2014/2015 "UCS" Slave I (75060). We also believed it was shot by Vesa Lehtimäki, who uses that same kind of dramatic lighting. He confirmed with us that he shot the photo and that it was pre-2015 with a prototype LEGO set. So, could this be just a stand-in photo for "Rogue One" or a re-pack?]

[UPDATE #3: We can confirm 100% now that image shown is 2015 USC Slave I ("Empire"). It's not a new set coming October. It's not proof by itself of Slave I in Rogue One.]

[UPDATE #4: Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo re-tweeted our third update on Twitter:
twitter-lego-rogue-one-pablo-retweet
This may or may not be a validation of our findings.]

[UPDATE #5: We've all looked past one other oddity. "Rogue I" sure mirrors "Slave I," yet the official title of the upcoming film is "Rogue One." Why would LEGO be dropping the formality? Could this all be a clerical / marketing error?]

So far, Boba Fett has only been rumored to appear in the first "story" film. This could be spoiling and thus confirming that rumor. That said, see our Fett Fact Check for more about those rumors thus far.

Next to the "Rogue One" image is a TV series announcement. According to PromoBricks.de, that's a "Droid Tales-esque series titled The Freemaker Adventures."

Nuremberg is the location for Spielwarenmesse, the Nuremberg Toy Fair, going on right now in Germany. Hat tip to Peter Buchanan for the heads up.

In 2014, Hasbro showed off a Boba Fett with "Star Wars Rebels" packaging, igniting comments that Fett might finally appear in the show. That ended up to be false because Hasbro simply re-packages "classic" figures in the latest line. This is why we also ended up with "The Force Awakens" packaging for Boba Fett and Slave I, even though neither are in the new film.
