Topic: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

As posted in the news article, Boba Fett appears to be working with an attractive female bounty hunter named Xasha in his search for Starkiller. To me, this throws off the Sintas Vel storyline, although it is years later, as well as throws off the Fett psyche and the way in which we should perceive this younger version of our cult hero. Thoughts?

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

well, since the Sintas Vel storyline is non-canon, technically it doesn't matter?

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

Did someone actually say the two were supposed to be a couple? Answer that before we Nerd Rage.  tongue

Edit: Didn't see those.

As of now, I'm not convinced.

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

This really kind of pisses me off... Did they say for sure that the entire Fett/Sintas storyline was non-canon? I loved those books, especially because Fett was older, looking back on his life and it made him seem a little more human.
I had really hoped they wouldn't totally &%$@ up that story line. sad

nah it's still canon for now

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

Well, if he'd spent the night I think the bed would look more disturbed on the left side. It actually looks like she was partying with a clone trooper, unless that helmet is hers. I don't think it's Fett's place.

My guess as to why he's dis-armored might have something to do with the "I thought we agreed not to show each other our guns" comment. (Armored Fett is walking weapon.)

He just seems to distant here for this to be any kind of fling. I think she might just be really aloof. This is could be wishful thinking though.

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

thats her helmet, shes a bounty hunter too. wears some modified mandalorian and clone style armor

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

Where can we see a picture of the bed?

I guess it doesn't ruin the Sintas-canon. I mean, does Boba ever actually say Sintas was the only woman he loved/slept with? As for MY personal image of him-- I would say it easily tarnishes it.

Namely because I know this interferes with our "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" Fett who claims to Leia "sex between those not married is amoral." I was intrigued that a bounty hunter would express such black and white views of morality and adds unique depth to his character.
However, that Fett may be long gone... =/

I hear ya, Manji.  That's the first thing I thought of when I read about this.  I was like, wwwhhhhaaaaaattttttt????

Actually, in Revelation, Fett tells Admiral Daala "There was only ever Sintas," after she told him he cleaned up well for an old man. She made a comment suggesting that Fett had broken a few hearts back in the day, but his thoughts were that if so, it was only distant admiration.

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

Okay, I just saw the preview from the Darkhorse website. Here's what I think: I think it looks like Xasha is the one who is drunk. She's acting really dumb. And that comment Fett makes: "I have to take this. Don't get too comfortable." That sounds to me like it's his place, but he doesn't want her passing out there.
I want this woman to die. hahaha smile

I'm sort of intrigued by her actually.  big_smile

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

it's definitely one sided in their relationship. she digs him, and maybe he's just filling time with her, but she's there and they definitely have hints of a physical relationship

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

DON'T READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE COMIC YET! IT CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!!!!

So I finally got my copy of the comic today, and I have to say; this thing makes Boba look like some kind of player. And I think it goes against everything we have seen so far for his character. I mean, Vader hires this bounty hunter to get samples of his DNA, and she does this while he's sleeping?! When has Fett ever been known to let down his guard with anyone? And this totally screws my image of him being this guy who lives by a "moral" code. It's obvious that he's not into her because of his comments toward her and such. So, that leaves two options: Either they are making this look like a fling when it's really not, or Boba is just having random sex with this woman...
Sorry, I am ranting. I just hate the way the powers that be keep messing up everything that has been written to date. It messes with my mind. GRRR!

Ah, thanks for that Ariana. I'm still on Bloodlines, can't wait to read more of Legacy of the Force. Got way too much reading to do for college that I hardly have time to read for my own leisure anymore. sad

As for the preview:
I. DO. NOT. LIKE. SEEING. HIS. FACE.
It's way too freakin' weird, and all I see is Jango... =/
Also-- Xasha. I was already annoyed with her from the first panel. Boba Fett would never work with someone so unprofessionally-drinking, flirting, walking around in nothing but a bed sheet??!! I hope she dies too. ^_^

Also, Ariana: read the spoiler... sounds... disappointing... =/
Sounds like they have to tarnish his character to create a plot device.

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

Manji_Ninja, we should totally get together and gang up on Lucasarts smile
This thing has ticked me off way more than it should! I feel like they have totally ruined Boba Fett for me. I mean, he was this mysterious guy who seemed deep down to be a decent guy. Now, he's a booty-hound, and apparently doesn't watch his back like we thought he did. Really, what kind of bounty hunter doesn't check someone out before they sleep with them?!
I don't like seeing his face either. I am totally into the masked thing. I mean, as a girl, I have spent a lot of time contemplating what this mysterious man would look like, but I never actually WANTED TO KNOW!!!
And yes, Xasha acts like a whore from the very beginning. I wanted her to disintegrate after the first page.
I am hoping (without hope) that they come back and say that Fett wasn't really having a fling with her... that he knew all along what she was doing, and that he had some reason for letting her do it.
Okay... :::::Nerd rage complete:::::.... for now.

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

And I'm also feeling a little stupid, because I'm a 29 year old woman who is jealous of a fictional character because she is having an affair with another fictional character. Should I go see a psychiatrist now?

rule #1 of my cosplaying. never take off the helmet. ruins the mystery.

Haha, sounds like a good plan. wink

Seeing his face bothers me mostly because it's unnecessary. We already have a pretty good idea of what he looks like thanks to him being a clone of Jango. Even with Boba being a clone, I've always associated his face with his Mandalorian helmet. Of course that's not to say I've never wondered myself what he looks like, being the fangirl that I am, but it's the helmet & armor I was attracted to in the first place anyway. =P
As Boba says himself: "This IS my face:"
http://www.bobafettfanclub.com/multimed … c_face.jpg

I don't care if Xasha is a whore or not-- Boba wouldn't tolerate someone as obnoxious as her either way. "Bang" That is just stupid. But she seems to imply they've worked together/had contact before in the way she responds "OUR luck will change." Had to chuckle at Boba reply "Mine always does," indicating that he honestly doesn't give a damn about her future prospects, haha.

About the jealousy thing... can't say I relate 'cause as you said he is just fictional after all. I'm just slightly irked because Boba is a true professional who typically works alone unless he has something to gain from having a partner. Does the comic ever reveal why he had her along with him on Nar Shadaa?

Anyway, I'm gonna try to find this comic at a local shop tomorrow, hopefully they will have it. Wanna know the full scoop for myself...

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

Yeah, I always wondered what his face would really look like, but I didn't really want to see it. If I never see it, I can imagine him to look anyway I want! wink Yes, the helmet and armor are what is so attractive about him. Seeing him sitting around in a wife beater and cargo pants leaves me feeling let down (not because his comic body isn't great, but because I prefer the armor!)
It does sound like Xasha sees herself in some kind of partnership with him, but that he does not see it that way. They never actually say why the two are on Nar Shadaa. That is why I'm hoping this will be explained away in a later comic. I think maybe they will go back and say that Boba knew what she was doing, and he let her do it for some reason other than the nookie. OR that he had some use for her in this whole thing.
I got my copy from Amazon, and it was here in 2 days, so if you can't find it when you're out and about, I would go with them!

Re: Does Xasha's involvement with Fett throw off the existing storyline?

Haha yeah, I'm certainly not complaining either about his looks as far as aesthetics go... it's just detrimental overall to his entire essence, imo.

I hate to say it, but I doubt we'll get additional on the story that would alter Boba Fett's reason for trusting such a women. -_-
