Yeah, its an awesome game. Dying to see some more stuff on ODST. Sadly, the most we've seen of it is concept art. Though it is fully playable, and dialog is being finished.

Re: Favorite video game?

Halo hardly deserves the M rating. Language is mild, blood nearly non-existent. The Flood are the worst part, but most above 10 should be able to handle it.

Re: Favorite video game?

Strangely enough, I'm playing Sims 2 again lately. It's fun when you show it to someone who never played and watch their reactions. I also replay several old 2D games I used to enjoy a LONG time ago. It's nice.

Of course you kids of the 3D generation can't understand any of this. tongue

Cast iron and treadmills? Oh yes. Still sculpting me to what I really want to be, and I love it. :)

Re: Favorite video game?

I love Sims 2! Any Sim game, really, is great.

As for 2D games, I love the Atari 2600 my husband fixed up. It has a special place in the bedroom. (cause that tv works better, we found that hd tvs don't work for something that old something about frame rates and flickering or something, made it almost impossible to play games like millipede) And speaking of millipede, I made 128,000 back in July, which is only 12,000 points away from the world record high score. big_smile

And of course I still play the NES and SNES, I have the SW game for NES and SuperSW and SuperESB for the SNES. I suck at the ESB game, it's very hard, I've never even made it to the wampa. But on the SuperSW one I made it to the Death Star! On the SW one I made it to the asteroids and then I always die there.

I think my husband would simply explode if we couldn't play 2d games. We even have a spare atari he's going to fix up for when the one we already have dies.

And on Halo I think you have to be 16 to buy it. I remember cause I was trying to buy one of them for my brothers years back (they're both younger than me) and I was days from being 16 but the lady wouldn't sell it to me. I don't see that it's that bad a game. I don't play it, but I think, like what you said up there, that the flood are the scariest part. Personally I think the flood are awesome. (remember, I don't know anything about this game, I just saw these things and asked my brothers what they were and they told me)

M  is 17+.

And yeah, the flood would be the scariest part, but its simply an issue of maturity. It really isn't that bad in game, but the concept is terrifying.

Re: Favorite video game?

Well, I think they up the rating a little sometimes to be extra careful. The average teen might not find Halo to be especially disturbing, the parents might blow a fuse or two at the game (remember, this is the world where a lot of people said that, despite the rating, you shouldn't take someone under 16 to see The Dark Knight). And you have the not-average teen, who even at 16 couldn't play 10 minutes of Halo without freaking out.

So yeah, I think they up ratings a bit higher to be careful. Case in point, Star Fox Assault is rated T. Now, Krystal is fully clothed in this game, so skimpy tribal clothes are a non issue. The characters never cuss. There isn't any blood either (not even super fake green blood). Doesn't seem like it could possibly be rated T then, can it? But it is. My only guess to why is that the explosions are more realistic then they were in Star Fox 64.

So cool. Some people still give a chance to older games. Despite the lack of high-res animations and graphics, some of them can be really cool. big_smile

Re: Favorite video game?

I've never played Sims 2. I can't just understand the game, or is it just because I've only seen when my friend plays it. tongue My brother gave me one The Sims game, but it doesn't work on my computer, so I really don't know what are they like. neutral

Re: Favorite video game?

Well, Sims 3 has been announced, for Sims fans.

And Miba, no biggy. Minor correction, just had to deal with that, as I'm not 17 yet, so someplaces get picky about that.

Re: Favorite video game?

I used to love to play games when I was younger. But, money is pretty tight so I gave up. But some classics that I played repeatedly are Starwars BF1 and 2. The Sims, GTA series, and the Midnight Club series.

Re: Favorite video game?

Halo, Gears, Too Human, Burnout Paradise, uh....Republic Commando.

Re: Favorite video game?

Here are my favorite games, in some sort of order: Halo 1,2,3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Farcry 2, Half-Life 2, Star Wars: Republic Commando, KOTOR, Starfox 64, Mario Kart (can't choose one), Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Donkey Kong Country (one and two), Super Mario World. From Halo to KOTOR it's almost a tie.

Re: Favorite video game?

For the longest time my top games were Oblivion, the KotOR series, and The Sims.  The Sims and Oblivion are still alive and beating for me because they were both epic games to begin with, and with the addition of freekin' awesome fan-made content from the internet *I have both games on PC rather then console*  there's always something new to do and/or experience.  And of course KotOR will always hold a special place for me because of the awesome story and Mando backstory fillers.

Lately however, Army of 2 has taken my xBox by storm!  By far the most fun co-op game I've EVER played!  Trying to keep myself from drooling while waiting for the sequel.  I heard it got some bad press, but anybody who hasn't played NEEDS to give it a chance, especially if you have a friend to play with.

My friend and I are so sold on the game we're actually working on a new costume based on my own fan-made character and security company based on the game.  Will post pics when I can   big_smile

Re: Favorite video game?

Got Sims 3 now!

It's good to keep up-to-date and as a creator I'll get a chance to share once again.

It's always exciting to try a new version of a game you know and "get lost" in it again, with all the new possibilities. But the sims themselves look different too.

I'm bringing a comparison, so you can see and judge for yourself.

Victor is one of my custom-made personal sims. It's the very first I had made in The Sims 2, and here is a pic of how he looks like in that game :

http://lithdesigns.com/Sims2/BillieLith … rSims2.jpg

Now here's Victor as I could make him in Sims 3. I spent several hours trying to make him look the same, as much as possible, and this is as close as I could come:

http://lithdesigns.com/Sims2/BillieLith … rSims3.jpg

The graphics in general are a lot smoother in Sims 3, but is it better? I don't know, I think it's a bit too blurry, too smooth. It makes it harder to control when you shape a sim's face, as you don't have the same tools at all. I liked some details and strenght of lines that he had in Sims 2 that I couldn't reproduce with the tools of Sims 3, like for the frame of eyebrows, the shape of his cheeks and shape of his eyes. His hair is very different too. The hairmesh he is using in Sims 2 doesn't exist anymore in Sims 3. And as you can see, for Sims 3 still, hair textures are very smooth, kinda blurry.

OMG I LOVE RESIDENT EVIL!
5 WAS AMAZING!

Even though the story disappointed me a bit... hmm

Code Veronica has to be my absolute favorite in the series. I don't have a Wii, so I'm sorta sad to see that The Darkside Chronicles is Wii exclusive, just like Umbrella Chronicles was... RE2 was probably my 2nd favorite. I know rail shooters are sort of weak, but I'd love to revisit the locations. Can't ever get enough Raccoon City, if ya ask me.

So yeah... Resident Evil series are among my top favorites. Then with KOTOR, Dynasty Warriors series, and Final Fantasy X would be up their as well. But I honestly don't game as much as I used to.

Re: Favorite video game?

Oh, yes, Sims 3! I love that game!!! I've only played it a few times. Stupid story progression made me too sick to want to play it again. I made a guy sim and then went and made a girl sim and I played her for hours upon hours and then I went back to play as the guy sim and after a few days... my girl sim wasn't there anymore. She had disappeared. Totally and completely disappeared. Best I can figure is she died. I heard they patched that and you can turn story progression off, so I think I'll give it a try again.
