If you're looking to buy, I'll post a few options. Make....talk to therealmccoy, he made his own. I've heard sintra is good, or you could go the trash can method--look around on Mando Mercs for a good description of that.

Heres a repost of some decent looking plates on Ebay, should still be there, they were buy it now in large quantities.

Found this through MandoMercs, but for all of you looking to make your armor, several affordable parts are being sold by cyanide Full Body Plates, everything but Guants and Bucket For $85, Buy it now paypal only.

Chest, Shoulders, COD, knees, back and lower back plates $45, Buy it now paypal only.

A recommendation for anyone looking at a custom Mando--either gives you almost everything you need to join the MandoMercs as a full member--just add gloves/gaunts and a helmet, and you're set. I'm looking into a separate set of plates (metal) or else I'd buy these.

Also, the Trading Post on MandoMercs will have the occasional set by K'raam Xrati for metal plates, he was selling chest, shoulder, ab, collar, shoe, and backplates last I checked, for about 75 plus shipping--a great buy. I got a smaller set of his, just chest, collar, shoulder, and abs. Looking into shoe and back now though.

haven't tried it yet, but you could cut some out of poster board and fiberglass it

Re: good material for making armor

I've got a thread here:

http://www.bobafett.com/boards/viewtopic.php?id=2261

That'll help you. Sintra is the best easiest material to work with, I should know as I use it to make all the armour for people with. Some, such as Noval; make armour from metal plates and whilst this is very good it's a lot harder to work with.

There's also a few threads on kotemandos.com that could help you.

Re: good material for making armor

K'raam's put out several sets in the last few weeks, I'll give you a heads up if I see another. If you want your own, personal set to troop in, I'd go with K'raam. If you want more sets for other people, perhaps Cyanide (the ebay links) is the way to go. I like K'raam's stuff: here's a link

This is really new, I checked earlier yesterday and this wasn't there. Still 75 bucks.
