Yeah, I've noticed that too, but I have yet to discover its significance.
Actually guys, now that we have cloning and spermbanks, we no longer need you.

Re: Male or Female?

that is stupid...girls will NOT take over the world someday...they are too weak in many areas and would not be able to everthrow men. Plus...how many girls are in the army (not too many)   and how many are lumberjacks or coal miners or anything that is the "dirty work". Guys pull their share in things that girls would never do in fear of breaking a nail. There are a ton more examples, if they are needed, i just don't have the time.

Chrys...we do not yet have the correct technology yet for complete cloning...plus it has never yet worked on mankind or "sperm"....that is a stupid though anyway...

Uh.......yeah, we do. We dont have good enough technology to make clone troopers(duh) but I think the scientists of the world have already clone a human or two. I mean, just look at that stupid lamb. That was a success, why would'nt it succeed for a human?

Yeah, it is a bad idea to play god. I'm just sayin we have the technology.

PS: wasn't Frankenstein a good guy in the end?

Re: Male or Female?

No,   I'm pretty sure people only think that we have the technology...but it has never been done with humans...and thus we have no proof that it actually works. (for example: do you see your double walking around at Wal-Mart....no)

Re: Male or Female?

I think that many private companies do have the technology, but they have to keep it secret for legal purposes.  At least that's what I've gathered from the news.
As a matter of fact, women have a much greater ability to tolerate pain than men do, and although we may not be as physically strong, we have the problem-solving skills to make up for it.  Throughout nature, it has always been females who are responsible for building society.  Or at least that's what the evolutionists say.

Evolutionists....hmm    do you believe that...the whole us coming from apes thing? If so, then your post makes logical sense...but coming from apes....whoops...off subject      ill make a seperate thread Chrys...so us and others can discuss evolutionary stuff...    ok   sorry bout that    back 2 subject.

Just anectdotal evidence:  When I worked in the hospital doing hands on nursing, particularly in the gastro suite where everyone who walked through the door got an IV first thing - Of the folks who had bad reactions to needles and pain:  Men at a rate of about 5 men to every woman treated tended to (a) pass out when seeing the IV hook up, of (b) pass out when getting hit with the IV and (c) tended to require a tremendous amount more pain medication (not due to differences in body surface area).  We used to joke, the bigger they were, the harder they fell.

Then again, I have met some females in my life who'd swoon over breaking a nail.  A few of them served with me in the Army.  Go figure.  (BTW, Mandaloran Spy, there are a ton of chicks in the Army. )

As to strength, it depends on the being.  I'm 5'9", the average height of a man.  And I'm fairly strong, but a man my size would have more upper body strength, myself, more mid and lower body strength, and that's due to physiology.  But, if you watch the MetRx strong women and strong man competition, there are some damn tough women who could powerlift the average dude.  And those guys?  Holy moly, are they strong.  As to nurture, I know women who coudln't nurture a plant successfully, let alone a society, and I know men who have more mother insticnt than my girlfriend who's a stay at home mom.

I think it takes both sides to tango and ultimately get the job done.  Especially as society grows in numbers, and becomes more diverse.  It's easy to generalize, but we all know folks who break the mold.

Besides, we all know the most dangerous adversary is the one who uses brains.  Cunning, brains and skill will outdo brawn any day.  And those things are not gender specific.

As to the cloning:  I can tell you, I think we're damn close.  I've been seeing a fertility MD for the last year, and the things I've learned that science can do to create life is impressive, and frightening.  My husband nick named our physician Dr. Frankenstein, with good cause.  Chrys, I agree, there's someone out there on the edge of technology and biology who can do more than they're letting on.

Re: Male or Female?

Actually, yes, Frankenstien was a good guy, I remember that more than just about any other part of the book cause I felt like crying over how he was treated, and because I was shocked cause I always had the misconception that he was a badguy.

As for taking over, girls could easily take over, and then use guys for doing the hard work. I do that already on a small scale. At work if there's something heavy or high up and I can't get it, I get a guy and they do it for me very happily.  wink But I think having things equel's better.

As for cloning, I think it's a bad idea. We have too much overpopulation as it is, and now they want to create even more people? o_0

Re: Male or Female?

lol....overpopulation is not a problem today...but yes, i don't like the idea of clones either. I think it is a disrespect for human life.

Exactly.  I didn't say that men were useless, just that we don't need them.  wink  Sorry for picking on you guys, just teasing.

I cried for Frankenstein too, but then again, I've only read the abridged children's version.

Re: Male or Female?

I think that cloning is real, but EXTREMLY immoral, as clones would have no soul. From what I remeber, Frankenstein's Monster burnt himself to death. I also read an abriged version, as that is the only classic book series that I can get my hands on.

take it easy baby take it as it comes

Re: Male or Female?

Yes, I think he burnt down Frankenstein's lab out of fury about the whole Bride incident.  But anyway, back to topic.  wink

The person who wrote Frankenstien was a girl, neither the creature nor the scientist were girls, though.

But I agree, back to topic.
