Topic: Jango and Boba weapon calibers

If you could compare the firearms of Boba and Jango to existing calibers, what would they be? You can use anything as evidence, both g-canon and expanded universe. Anyway here's mine so far:

Jango's pistols:
22LR- In the game Bounty Hunter, it takes like 5 shots to kill someone, which is why it seems the bullets are of a lower caliber.
9mm(or anything similar)- In Battlefront 2, it only takes 2-3 shots, depending on where you hit.
44 Magnum(anything similar)-In Attack of the Clones, Jango takes out a reek with 1 shot to the head or mouth or whatever.

Boba's EE-3 carbine/rifle/whatever the hell it is:
M16 caliber: If you compare the EE-3 from Battlefront 2 and the M16 from Call of Duty 4, both have burst fire and both kill in 1-2 hits.

MY analysis thus far, I can't think of other examples

Re: Jango and Boba weapon calibers

Yeah, I always thought of Jango's pistols as having two trusty .45 Colts.  Probably the Colt .45 ACP, because of the rate of fire you can put on something, but the Colt .45 revolver (the longer bareled Cavalry model, not the Peacemaker) also springs to mind, because they gave him those western style holsters (and the whole gun spinnng thing).

As for Boba's rifle, I was thinking of something with as much power but with a shorter range than a M-16.  Maybe a M-4 or a British SA80 (L85A1) assault rifle.

I agree on second thought I could definitely see Boba's weapon with an M4 caliber.

The M4 Carbine and M16A2 share ammunition, the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge.

Re: Jango and Boba weapon calibers

I would have to say that (IMO) Jango's pistols would be equal to .50 caliber Desert Eagles, because even though hes really good with them and even though he dual weilds them, they are still just pistols so I would think they'd be of a very high caliber to ensure maximum damage and effectivness. As for Boba's EE-3 being equal to an M4 I agree with because the EE-3 is a carbine as is the M4.

Oh good point it's because Boba's weapon is more of a carbine smile

I don't think anyone can dual-wield Desert Eagles, the recoil is simply too strong.

True but you'd think he'd have a high cal. blaster pistols. They must be to kill  a reek with one shot. And besides the recoil from blasters isn't the same as guns.

Re: Jango and Boba weapon calibers

Boba hs a much bigger caliber, but jango has dual wield.

Re: Jango and Boba weapon calibers

the way jango was able to overpower so many jedi was the fact that a lightsaber has a much more difficult time of deflecting a blaster bolt in two places at the same time

Re: Jango and Boba weapon calibers

Boba's gun is like someone said, kills in one or two hits, but low range. In Battlefront 2, I can easily kill with one hit, (i'm a good headshotter) and I can snipe pretty far with it, but if I keep firing, the accuracy drops drastically, with lasers spraying in every direction.

I have to disagree with you and the others here who are saying Jango's blasters are equivelent to high caliber rounds.  First off, Jango's blasters are not heavies, they're target blasters.  If any of you have 'The New Essential Guid to Weapons & Technology,' it'll back me up.

I agree with the book because of the design.  They're very light and sleek despite the length of the barrels, and most importantly they doesn't have large ammo packs that would support the high drain of a large caliber round/bolt.

With these things in mind, I agree with the book that they are built for percision attacks and a high rate of fire.  I'd rate them as a round that's got a very high velocity, but small size; the same concept as the M-16's .223.  Only pistol round I can think of right now with really high velocity is the .357 Mag, but that's bigger then I'd say Jango's blasters would be.

Rev can probably think of a round that I'm talking about.

Boba's rifle reminds me of a .45 Long Colt weapon like those used in old west lever action rifles and in the Colt pistols.  Big bore round with serious knock-down power, but not long ranged.  That's the impreson I get from the rifle in the movie.  In Battlefront it's more like a shot-gut with three slugs in the shell.

The M16 rifle uses a 5.56x45mm cartridge. It was derived from but isn't interchangable with a .223 round. And a shotgun fires about nine pellets that spread out when fired. Bobas rifle in Battlefront simply fires a three round burst.

ahhhh, thanks for the correction on the M-16 round.  Guess I was thinking of the old AR-15

However, keep in mind that a shotgun shell can be altered as to how many 'slugs' it carries.  You're talking about DoubleBuck right?  Big game hunters used essentially a shotgut with a Single slug back around 1900.  I don't know of a specific instance of a three slug shell, but I have no doubt one could be made, and that's what Boba's Battlefront II blaster reminds me of *not very long range/three bolts/Very powerful*

Re: Jango and Boba weapon calibers

5.56 calibar is not much.why not make it a manly 338 caliber with armour piercing heads to penetrate modern body armour.7.62 nato rounds is amlost as good.for pistols the 44 magnum is much better than tiny 9 mil ammo.
occupied palestine makes a wonderfull pistol called the desert eagle which fires 50 caliber ammo.wowwwww.
