Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

*That's okay Adeptus, but you'll be the last to have Force powers*

Nexia found herself touching the black tattoo under her left eye, it was a nervous habbit she had but somehow she found it soothing to touch her Kiffar tattoos. She lowered her hand, "Danger is everywhere my friend, why would things be worse here?"

"There is little privacy to talk," the hooded figure told her.

Nexia smiled slightly, she knew that this being was a Force sensative and by the waves of power rolling off him it was clear he was trained to use the Force. "Sometimes being in a crowd can be the safest place a being can be."

"And sometimes it's not," he replied sounding a little impatient.

Nexia nodded and conceeded his point, "So where do you wish to go?"

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

SW-977 was tired. He had been given orders to find the remaining jedi. He was hungry and thirsty. His throat stank of bad breath, that he hadn't had anything to eat. He swung his sidearm about and sighed. The jedi probably weren't even in this galaxy, or this planet, he was on Taris. He knew for some apparent reason, that this was going to be a loooong day.........

"So where do you wish to go?"

It had been years since Ralin had dealt with a Jedi, and he now remembered why that was a good thing.  Even now, when they are being hunted across the galaxy, this Jedi would rather spout philosophy then see the danger around her.

“Anywhere the two hunters who followed you in here won’t find us” he nearly hissed.  Ralin was fully in control of his anger, but he had to get the point across.  “I know not if they are here for either of us, but they’re arrival here is far to convenient to be accident.  Be wary; I believe the Rodian to be Force sensitive, and the over appears to be Mandalorian.”

“Very well” she said as she slid out of the booth.  Her attitude hadn’t varied since she’d recovered from sensing him in the Force, despite his warning.  Perhaps she was aware of the danger around her.

They walked side by side toward the bar’s exit.  The Mandalorian had stood and was on Ralin’s side standing inside the place.  The Rodian was on the Kiffar’s side, and seemed to be fidgeting at the bar.

Before they could pass, the Mando stepped forward, holding up his gauntlet-clad hand.  “Wait a moment” he said as Ralin’s hands opened, ready to summon his sabers…..

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

Si was enjoying herself away from the order. It was a sense of freedom that she had never felt while she was at the Jedi temple, working alongside other Jedi bound to honor the millennia old, vaunted but somewhat outdated Jedi Code. Not that she felt the code to be wrong, but just had a different interpretation.

Today Si got up late, languidly stretching, both physically and with the force, as she got out of bed. Her lover Janus had gotten up earlier as he seemed to never sleep for long, but had left a note and a flower in his place next  to Si. She smiled, and felt part of her soften as she saw it. Yes she decided life was much better for her with out the Jedi Order.

Part of the note said that Janus would be out untill dinner, buisness meetings and so forth. Part of Si was happy that he cared enough to care for her financially, but another part felt disappointed that he wasn't going to spend all day with her. Even that thought brought to mind how she was new to these kind of feelings. It was welcome. It did give her the opportunity to scope out some of Taris on her own, with out Janus. Janus knew fully of her past, and her skills in the force, but Si chose to limit how she used them around him, in fear that someone working for the Empire might take notice and cause harm to him. She couldn't risk that.

So she dressed and headed out into the streets of Taris, to explore her new found home.

Meat is murder...... tasty tasty murder.

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

Verd noticed the Jedi approaching a human female. They seemed to exchange a few words, and the masked man seemed agitated. Finally, the woman left her booth, and the two seemed set to leave. Verd thought about letting them, and following them, but he decided that they wouldn't take well to that. He stood, hoping that they wouldn't mistake his intentions. These days, all Force users  were wary. "Wait a moment.." He noticed the masked mans hands readying.

He slowly raised his hands to his helmet. "I'm a friend." He eased his helmet off, and the woman gasped. "I want to help."

The woman seemed wary. "You do know of Order 66."

At her words, Verd felt the grief of losing his brothers come crashing down on him, felt the pain as much now as when it actually happened. "Yes. I know of it. All too well. But I mean you know harm. Let us leave--this place is not safe."

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

After delivering his latest bounty on Coruscant, Falleer received an new bounty for some Jedi suspected to be on Taris. Falleer sighed. It was a while since he had last fought a Jedi and was wary of the bounty on their heads. After jumping into to a hyperspace course for Taris, he engaged the autopilot and went into the cargo area of the Star and pulled down a box. "Guess I'm going to need this gear if I'm gonna hunt some Jedi." He pulled out two short swords that had been coated in cortosis, two daggers likewise coated and blood-stained cortosis weave body armor. He geared up and headed back into the cockpit. Falleer smiled grimly to himself as he exited hyperspace and was greeted by a Republic cruiser and the planet Taris. "This is going to be fun," he muttered to himself as he entered the atmosphere of Taris.
Falleer landed the Itinerant Star on the landing pad and disembarked. He slung his sniper rifle over his shoulder while a cloak concealed his other weapons. He headed straight toward the cantina, judging that to be his best bet on information about any jedi in the area.

Skree was still pretty much on edge as the Mandalorian finally made his move, heading for the female and the cloaked man. He watched carefully as the mandalorian slowly removed his helmet, and the woman gasped.

Does she recognize him? It's hard to tell... Stay out of it for now, Skree. Something bad is about to happen. I can feel it...

The Kiffar gasped as the Mando removed his helm.  Ralin didn’t know why, the face was new to him.

"Yes. I know of it. All too well. But I mean you know harm. Let us leave--this place is not safe."

The Force grip Ralin had on his sabers loosened slightly.  He could feel the pain the Mando felt.  He’s not hunting us…… he wants to help.  But why?

Ralin nodded, but the Kiffar still seemed hesitant.  She knew this man, but in a mixed way that puzzled Drakus.  Nodding toward the door, Ralin followed the Mando, the woman following cautiously.  As they neared the exit, Ralin looked back at the Rodian for a reaction…..

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

Kah'le was being chased. He nimbly sprinted through the streets trying to avoid the anonymous bounty hunter after him. In an act of desparation, he ducked into an alley. Dead end. He silently cursed whoever had decided to make this alley way a dead end. This was bad. But not as bad for him as it would be for others. He wouldn't die on Taris.

--

The bounty hunter sprinted around the corner, disruptor rifle raised. The guns were powerful, and highly illegal, but he worked for the empire, and anyone stupid enough to get in the way of the tall, tattooed Devaronian was as good as dead anyways. He looked around, confused. A single hawkbat flew through the upwards. He frantically began tearing through the trash and derbies. He saw the damed Bothan turn in here he couldn't be gone.

--

Kah'le looked down, and almost laughed. He was safe, but the Devaronian frantically searching was almost comical. It had been close, and he was lucky. He hoped there wasn't a repeat of the incident. But if he was caught, he might be able to negotiate terms with the Empire. He was no longer a Jedi, but their first rule still rung clear in his mind, and he would do his best to adhere to it.

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

It seemed to Skree that somehow the Kiffar woman, the madalorian and the hooded man were somehow in league. He didn't want to be too obvious in case their grouping up attracted any hunters looking for a multi-jedi special. He knew he had to stay close, if not to hunt them, at least to provide backup if they found themselves in trouble somehow. Skree was a firm believer in the fact that he had survived this long because of his caution. It saved his life plenty of times, now should be no different.

Let's just hope we haven't attracted too much attention... he thought to himself as he felt the familiar weight of his dual-class, dual-blade lightsabers, hidden in the folds of his spacers overcoat.

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

The Rogue Shadow landed on Taris, it was here that he felt the Force the most. Meditating outside of his ship, several characters came to his mind in a canteen not far from here.

"A Jedi... Lord Vader will be pleased.."

Zylus got up, put on his hood, and walked to where he felt the Force.

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

The man nodded towards the door, and Verd relaxed. The woman still seemed hesitant, but the man seemed to trust him. "Thank you. Let's head out of town. I know of a series of caves that are safe. " he noticed the woman seemed reluctant, but she seemed willing to follow him. He donned his helmet, and they walked outside.

-----------------------

They had rented a speeder, and before long, they were at the caves. As they got out and entered the cave he had prepared as a backup holdout, he decided he had better explain everything. "I'm sure you're wondering why I'm helping you. I imagine you have even more doubts about me, ma'am. But I am here to help."

ooc: if you don't like the setting, we can change that. But I have to go, and thought my ship was too close to the center, plus, they might not want to enter a Mando's ship.

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

*Looks good to me, Vod.  Just let me just stick this bit in; would be right after they walk outside.*

As the trio left the bar, Ralin felt a cold, dark pressense looming from the direction of the spaceport.  His focus had been on the others and the possible threat before, but now that his thoughts were clear, he could feel this new danger…….and it was no simple bounty-hunter.

Ralin closed himself in the Force, masking himself as completely as he could.  Turning back to the Kiffar, he grabbed her shoulder.

“Can you mask your Force abilities as I just did??”

“Yes, why?”

“Do it now!” he ordered.  “We are in more danger then I thought…..”

"You set a code to live by.  I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted...I won't be laid a hand on.  I don't do these things to other men, and I require the same from them."

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

Falleer got to the cantina just as a group of three left on a speeder. He noticed one of the group was a Mandalorian and another had a t-visor helmet on. The third was a anxious looking kiffar female. Falleer considered going after them in case they had a lead on the jedi, but he decided to ask in the cantina. He walked into the cantina and was greeted by the warm stench of booze. He sat down at the bar and ordered a water. He looked around the cantina. He noticed a rather nervous-looking Rodian.

Skree didn't like that the other three had boarded a speeder.

Echuta! I should've made myself known...

Then he noticed his presence had alerted the attention of a not so local individual.

He'd seen this one before...

...bounty hunter...

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

The shock of seeing the Mandalorian clone had surprised Nexia out of her usual calm. With the insistent reminder about danger Nexia immediately found her balance. She’d never been good at masking her Force powers but it was a skill she was going to have to quickly master.

“Where should we go?” Nexia asked quietly as they boarded a speeder. She had no idea who it belonged to.

“We don’t need to discuss details right now,” the hooded man told.

Nexia nodded and was thrown back into her seat as the Mandalorian let out the throttle. She eyed him warily but she felt no malice from him through the Force.

“So my friend, do you have a name?” she said to the hooded man.

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

“So my friend, do you have a name?” asked the Kiffar.

Ralin didn’t answer for a moment, unsure if he should bother with formalities.  He was curious as to her reaction though, or if she even knew his name.  “Drakus……..Ralin Drakus.”

She leaned away from him slightly; her face turning blank as she held back her surprise.  Yes, she’s heard of me…..

“Does the name mean something to you?”

“You know it does.  They say…….”

“Yes?”

“They say you attacked a fellow Jedi; that you’d turned to the Dark Side.”

Ralin grinned behind his mask.  “The Jedi say that about those they don’t understand; often they are right.  Sometimes they’re wrong…..”

“Were they wrong about you?” she asked; more unsure then ever about the situation she’d fallen into.

He slowly turned his masked gaze toward her.  “Perhaps.”

He let his answer sink in as the Mando sped out into the ruins of Taris’s debris zone where the remnants of the Second Sith War remained untouched.

Inside a cave created by the fallen buildings four thousand years ago, the trio dusted themselves off from the speeder ride.  The Mando again took his helmet off, and began to explain his presence.

"I'm sure you're wondering why I'm helping you” said the Mando warrior.  “I imagine you have even more doubts about me, ma'am. But I am here to help."

*Ok, I got us back to WV’s timeline.  Tell me if it’s ok.  I know you were probably referring to a natural cave system, WV, but on Taris not sure we could find one; it was once a world spanning city until Malak blasted it.  Let me know if I need to edit anything*

ooc: no I didn't--so thanks. Not up on my ancient EU history.....it's not exactly school curriculum. tongue

ic:

Verd sat down, and motioned for the others to do the same. "As you guessed, ma'am, I'm a clone. RC-1347, Galactic Army of the Republic. Former soldier of the Republic. My name is Verd Skirata. I was part of a Commando batch trained by Kal Skirata, on Kamino. He trained us, made us men. More importantly, he made us Mandalorians. He saved our souls, and probably our lives too.

Over five years ago, we were deployed to Geonosis--our first true battle. My pod brothers and I were sent to scout out an unexplored underground cavern, where a generator was. It was supposed to be lightly defended, due to the huge numbers of droids fighting topside. But when we got there, we ran into a lot more droids than expected. B-1s, SBD's--even the occasional destroyer. We were under heavy fire, the droids were advancing, and I was cut off from my brothers. I concentrating on the oncoming droids, and I didn't notice the group that had moved in to flank us. At the last second, one's foot hit a pebble, and I spun knowing even as I did that I was dead. They fired. I remember closing my eyes, thinking, "This is it. I'm dead." But nothing happened. I opened them, and watched as the fire from over 15 battle droids was deflected by a lightsaber. A Jedi landed in front of me, and all I could see was a solid sphere of light, his saber was moving so fast. When I later reviewed my battle cam, I had to slow time down to micro-seconds to actually see it. With his help, we pushed the droids back and destroyed the generator. He saved my life, and, more importantly, the lives of my brothers.

I worked with many Jedi over the years, on various mission and in numerous battles, and I never lost my respect for them. Neither did the rest of my squad. Their fairness and bravery, kindness and wisdom--these things are unequaled throughout the rest of the galaxy. My squad was always honored to work for them.

Then Order 66 arrived." Verd paused, and noticed the grief in the Kiffar's eyes. "When the order came, I was on Sullust, with several Jedi. There was a Master and his Padawan,  and two Knights. Our squad was discussing tactics with the Jedi, when a group of about twelve troopers showed up. They raised their DC-15's fired. The Master and two Knights managed to block most of the shots, and were only injured. But the Padawan was killed instantly. My squad and I stepped between the troopers and the wounded Jedi, and I demanded to know what was going on. I knew it had to be Order 66, but I had to know for sure.

My fears were confirmed, and the clone Sergeant demanded that I step aside. I refused, and they opened fire. Our Katarn armor was strong enough to withstand the first few shots, but after the second volley we were knocked aside, and the Jedi were killed. We were all injured, and the sergeant told us we would be killed for insubordination. They fired again, but one of my brothers took the blasts for me. They were all dying, and they knew it. They rushed the troopers, taking even more fire, and managed to get close enough to land a few blows. One of them yelled for me to get out of there. I hesitated, but he looked back at me, and I knew that if I stayed, I would waste their sacrifice. Then a bolt penetrated his weakened armor. He fell, and at that moment, I fled for the first time in my life. A few bolts struck my back, but my armor held. At night, I was able to retrieve their armor tallies and a piece of their armor. I stole a ship, and left for Mandalore, where I knew I would get help.

Since then, Kal Skirata has adopted me, and I got my own armor and ship. I also swore to do whatever I could to harm the Empire, and when I heard it was hunting Jedi, and there were rumors of Jedi hiding on Taris, I came. And here I am. I owe Jedi my life, and I will always seek to help them.

But while I hate the Empire, I won't fight it directly. Its ranks are made up of clone troopers; they are my blood, and I can only hope that some see the evil they are serving and leave it. My brothers never fired a shot to defend themselves, and I never did and never will.

That is my story, and why I'm helping you."

Instantly realizing that the Force sense had seemed to die out, Zylus used his instincts and ran back to the Rogue, pulling out his speeder bike. Jumping on, he took off super fast in an attempt to find the Jedi.

"Damn Jedi..." Sus'iir mumbled as he finished wiring a collection of DetPacks around an ancient looking durasteel door. "She'll get what's coming to her, don't worry about that." He walked away, then dug himself deep into a snowmound a ways from the door and hit the activator. KRAFOOOM! In a shower of snow and twisted durasteel, the door was no more. "Oya!" Sus'iir shouted. "Took me 3 fracking attempts..." He stood up and brushed off the snow, peering into the gaping black hole he had just created. "Jedi thinks she can scare me..." Sus'iir checked his guns and walked into the black, expecting an ambush...but it never came. He proceeded down a small corridor that opened into a large open room with 4 additional corridors branching off. It was cold. In fact, frigid. "Now where did you get off to?"

"This IS my signature."

"That is my story, and why I'm helping you" concluded the clone Mando.

Ralin continued to pace back and forth inside the dim cavern as he considered the story for a moment.  He had no reason to doubt it, and he could sense the man's honesty.

Stopping finally, he looked over at the Mando, who was sitting ridgidly at attention.  "You have much honor, Mando.  You have my highest respect.  But I am no Jedi.  It is not me who you wish to help.  However, I suggest that we all work together until we get off this planet.  If you have heard rumors of Jedi here, so have many hunters.  And I sense that another, more dangerous opponent has followed us here as well......"

Re: RPG - Jedi Purge: The Hunt for Survivors

As Si neared a local cantina, one that she had been to a few times before and was known for its shady characters, but good tarisian ale. She noticed an odd individual storm out of the doors before she could go inside. The was a darkness sounding the force aura of the man as he quickly and angryly made his way towards the closest landing pad.

"I know I'm going to regret this," Si thought "But I know I have to follow him. The force is still my guide, even without the council or order." So with that she made a change of direction, just enough so that she could keep him in sight, but without appearing out of place. She even further blocked her own force aura, so that he would be unable to sense her. He returned to the landing pad and reteved a speeder from the hold.

"Kriffing Mustafar" She muttered under her breath. She was going to have a harder time to keep up. She looked around in a hurry. There were no more bikes around that Si could even steal. So she pulled one of the small devices from her belt and threw it at the tail end of the bike. She would at least be able to follow the homing beacon.
