Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Burnout finally caught something on the scanners.  A strangely familiar room was smoking, and the door had been blasted off of its hinges.  In a flash, Burnout raced through the halls and came upon the damaged room.  WHen confronted with the immense amout of smoke, he began to spin in place, arms extended, acting as a living fan, and whipping the smoke away.  With the obstructions clear, he was afforded a clear view of the room.  And then he remembered why it looked so familiar.  It was Nick Tracyn's room.

Nick stood in the middle of the room, wearing a bulky suit of armour, with the gauntlets smoking and a glow fading from the front.

((The armour looks like this:

"Um.  What's all this?" Burnout asked, curious.

Nick looked sheepish.  "I was testing out my new suit.  The right gauntlet malfunctioned, and overheated, adn blasted the door.  Sorry.  I'll pay for the damages."

Burnout laughed.  That whole explosion, and the subsequent worrying of imminent invasion was nothing more than Nick testing his new identity.

"So.  What're you gonna call yourself with that suit?  Darklight Mark Two?"

"No.  Darklight died when my powers were drained.  My name now, is Dusk."

Burnout nodded, and grinned, as Darklight, er, Dusk went through his armaments.

"My left gauntlet has an EMP, and the right one has a couple magnesium canisters hidden inside, kinda like flash-bangs.  Both gauntlets blast a repulsor beam, like my old energy blasts.  The centre piece of my chestplate emits a slight force field, acting, again, like my old energy field.  The boots have repulsors, which give me my old flight back."

"And this is all metal?  Isn't it heavy?"

"Oh, this isn't made of metal.  It's a special type of plastic, although hard and dense enough to take a medium calibre bullet without much damage.  The field also helps to repel, deflect, or take the brunt of, bullets."

Burnout nodded, impressed.  "Shall we go and introduce you to the gang, then?"

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

i know its late but im new to this website smile

Name: Griffin
Affiliation: Hero
Gender: Male
Powers: The result of three decades of experiments trying to create the perfect soldier has created a machine like man. He has superhuman strength (and a brain) He uses modern weapons as he as trained with these for the last three decades. He uses a 5.62MM M4a1 which fires HE rounds in a Psi shell which is powerful enough to penetrate most armour or energy shields.
Appearance: Wears a experimental armour suit which is light weight and emmits an electro magnetic force field, which in effect turns incoming projectiles away. he has a titanium alloy armour to protect in hand to hand combat and two bracers which have a titanium/adamantium alloy blades concealed in.

Griffin was meant to be a legendary soldier, a leader among men....invincible.

yet he stood at the edge of the city, smoke raising from the city from different parts.

He had heard that the statue of liberty had been Destroyed by insurgents

a sign that maybe America's freedom was about to go.

He had to find out what was going on.
Griffin was escorted by soldiers from delta force and a high ranking army officer was telling him that unknown 'super' terroists had, some while ago, apparently laid siege on this city.

Griffin boarded the UH 60 black hawk.
"here, this is the M4 you requested, modified with state of the art telescopic sights and a special type of ammunition. might be handy" The officer told griffin as he handed over the M4

"Thanks" Griffin replied

The Black hawk was making an approach to new york city

"Dam these freak thunderstorms, come from no where they do!" The pilot said

Griffin smiled and relaxed, it was time to explore the city, he tossed a rope out of the side door of the bird and rappeled down. lets see what he could find.

I am the Hammer. I am the sword in His hand, I am the point of His spear. I am the Gauntlet about His fist. I am the Bane of His foes and the woes of the treacherous. I am the End.

Jack took another corner hard.  "Well we were planning to go to Andromeda to turn you in..."

A bolt of lightning struck the car.  Jericho looked outside and saw the chipped paint.

"All right.  Get me out of here.  Just don't let them kill my car."

"Can do."

Jack locked the wheels and skidded sideways into a tight 180.  He then headed for the Beetle.

"Well let's play some chicken."  Jack brought the Charger straight toward them.

"What are you doing?!  TURN IT AROUND!"

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Flame looked away, he didn't know what he was going to do. The 'normal' people Andromeda served feared him, they had always. By some he was hunted. He wanted to join them. They trusted him. They were his friends. But the people they defended, people they served, had been the bane of his existence for to long. He could not easily help them. "I...I don't know." Flame said finally. He continued to stare off into the distance, thinking.

Shift ran after Burnout. He wasn't near as fast but he knew where he was going. And he could run through walls. He stopped at Nick's cell. He saw the cause of the boom. Chink came around the corner and almost ran into him. "Sorry." she said, embarrassedly. Burnout looked over. "Found our problem." he said.

“What happened here then?”  The blonde asked.

Lightshow kicked the now unconscious, smoking body with his right foot.

"Scumsucker must be some kind of merc. He and his friends were driving in a beat up old van. They thought they could sneak up on me..."

"Where's the van? What happpened to his friends?" M'Lure asked angrily.

Lightshow shrugged, "I dunno...took off when I fried 'im I guess..." He said, indicating to the body, which seemed to be healing and regaining consciousness quite rapidly. "Got anything to neutralize his healing power, Boss Lady? His comebacks are really getting on my nerves. I don't wanna have to kill him..."

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

((Yeah, I dunno what's up with that.))

"Gentlemen, Ladies, I would like you to meet our new friend, and prospective member, Dusk."  Burnout stepped back so that they could get an adequate view of the subject, garbed in his armour.  Nick appeared to be uncomfortable with the, but he bore it stoically.  Burnout turned back to the group, with a grin.

"That was one boom I am very proud to have heard, dontcha think?"

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Chromium strode up behind Burnout and Shift and looked into the room. He had already left Vandal in the Infirmary and came when he heard the "boom".

After hearing Burnout's introduction of Dusk, He reached into his incredibly black and pulled out a small comm link seemingly from nowhere. He put it up to his mouth.

"Call of the red alert, false alarm." He said, the familiar metallic tang in his voice making Burnout and Shift turn their heads since he nearly snuck up on them

"Yes sir." The security attendant said back. Chromium slid the commlink back into the depths on the cloak and took out his pipe with the same motion and stuck it in his mouth. Chromium was known to pull the most random objects from within his cloak.

"So, Dusk, how did you manage to get around the fracture tendencies of the plastic? And what power source are you using? It looks to be possibly nuclear but I could be wrong." Chromium asked. He was always excited about new additions to Andromeda that used super-suits. In his time before working on the sunstance that eventually turned him into Chromium, Dr. Tanis Jones worked on a variation of super-suits to be used in special forces teams.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Nick grinned secretively.  "Well, the plastic is treated and made in a certain way that gives it properties like metal, such as being more dense and durable.  So the density, and molecular composition of this plastic alloy, for lack of a better term, it is a lot harder to fracture."  And the power source is a secret."  Nick's eyes twinkled conspiratorially with that.

Chromium looked crestfallen, so Nick took pity on him and whispered his secret.

"The suit is powered by photoreceptors, which take in ambient light, and use it to supercharge the energy supply.  For nighttime, and cloudy excursions, I can modify it to harness willpower for power.  You wouldn't believe how difficult it was for me to get the helmet's sensors to attune themselves to my mind's wavelength, and then being able to control it through a neural interface."  He then stepped back to see chromium's reaction.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Chromium laughed to himself. The last light powered suit he'd seen was a solar powered one that seemed quite bulky back then, Nick managed to pull off one that used any kind of light, not only solar.

"Neural interfaces are the biggest hassle, especially when attuned to one specific person. Yet they are definitely a necessity." He said as he lit the pipe.

"Care to take it on it's maiden voyage?" Chromium asked, eager to see how the flight would be using boot repulsors.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Dusk grinned.  "Thought you'd never ask."

Burnout smiled at Nick.  "Betcha your little firework boots can't beat me in a race."

Dusk shrugged.  "We'll see."

With that they were off, spurred on by friendly competition.  Burnout zipping along on foot, and Dusk flying just overhead.  The slightest shift in the angle of his feet caused a change in direction with the repulsors, but as he had been practicing in his downtime before the malfunction, he was slightly adept at it.  Dusk was determined to show that he could pull his own weight in Andromeda

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Haze was a little disappointed by Flame’s lack of enthusiasm to join Andromeda, but then he hadn’t said no. They walked along for a while longer until they finished their coffee. “I should get back,” Haze commented although she didn’t feel that much enthusiasm herself.

Haze was tired, she was sick of the constant fighting with villains and saving people who sometimes weren’t worth saving. She was becoming reminiscent of her past as a neutral. She was starting to wonder if she should have stayed on that path.

The other supers had been so proud at what they’d achieved together five years ago that they had banded together and Haze had found it hard to refuse, especially when Chromium had been nominated as leader. He’d stepped into the role quite naturally though at first he’d seemed reluctant to take the part.

She looked at Flame, he brought back so many memories of the past. She wondered what would have happened if he’d stayed. Would things have been different? Probably not but she didn’t know.

“I’ll walk you back,” Flame offered.

Haze shook her head, “No it’s okay. I need some time alone,” she told and it was true.

Flame nodded, “Okay. I’ll see you around then.”

Haze smiled, “I hope so.” Then she walked away. The streets were dirty but mostly empty. No one bothered her as she made her way back to Andromeda. Her face was too well known these days so no one tried to mug her.

Haze felt an overwhelming urge to be as anonymous as she used to be. She let out a sigh, she really did want to get away for a while. She smiled to herself as an idea came to her. She’d book some flights so that Chromium couldn’t put off a holiday any longer. She hadn’t previously bothered because Chromium could fly them both anywhere they wanted.

As she walked back into Andromeda’s headquarters she saw that everyone was bunched around someone and complimenting him on his armour. Haze decided to avoid the group. She silently walked by and went to her shared room with Chromium. She stood looking around and decided that she didn’t want to be there at that moment. Instead she found one of the vacant rooms left for any other supers who decided to join them. She lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling thinking of the future.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Chomium stood upon the roof of the Andromeda HQ, watching the race going on beneath him between Burnout and Dusk, taking note of Dusk's flight abilities. As he surveyed the city, he thought about doing something he hadn't done in a long time, yet never found the time.

Chromium suddenly burst into the sky and a sonic boom sounded. In the blink of an eye he was halfway across the city and left the Andromeda building shaking.

After a few moments he arrived at Old Town. As the name suggests, it was the oldest part of Mission City. It centered upon a large church with a tall bell tower that had long been forgotten. The was how Mission City got its name. It was originally a Christian Mission designated to convert and protect natives. It developed into the metropolis it was now over time.

Chromium slowed and glided over the wretched part of Mission City known as Old Town. The crime here had been cleaned up greatly since the formation of Andromeda, yet it was still a poor sector.

The church bell tower came into view and Chromium glided inside. The old, decrpid church still contained the actual bell, yet it was in disrepair. Chromium looked around his former dwelling and found what he was looking for. The Bishop's Chair that used to reside in the pulpit on the church below. It was very ornate and he was surprised it hadn't been taken from the church already. The mahogany covered in gold leaf and the red cushioning made it seem throne like.

Chromium closed the bell tower doors behind him and walked up to the chair. Now, the only light to be had seeped through the various holes in the doors and walls, creating many shafts of light that stabbed through the darkness of the Bell Tower.

Chromium turned, and planted himself in the chair. It felt the same as it had 5 years ago. Despite being somewhat dusty, it was still his favorite seat. He breathed deeply now, and grabbed onto the arm rests of the chair.

He began the transformation. It never stopped being painful. He winced and bared his teeth and gripped the arm rests with his hands till the wood nearly splintered. The metal covering Chromium body sank in through his skin once more and the pure white light of his eyes darkened and revealed his normal eyes. His shoulder length brown hair shot from his head along with his goatee.

Tanis Jones sat in the chair, sweating and breathing heavily, yet he regained composure. He took one last deep breath and reached into his black cloak, the only thing covering his naked body now. He pulled out his pipe once more and lit it again.

Tanis took a long drag from the pipe, and let the smoke spill from his mouth. It swirled and spun around him and through the air. He raised the cowl over his head and took another drag.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Blur was glad that he’d stayed in the Control Centre. He heard Chromium’s voice and immediately tensed. He needed to get back to the room that he’d been left in, although Blink and Shift did let him out.

Blur was trying to make up his mind when he saw Haze pass by. He decided to follow her and turned to mist. He was disappointed when he saw her go into what was marked as hers and Chromium’s quarters. She immerged only moments later looking somewhat miserable. He noticed that she moved to a door that lacked any signage.

When there was no sound Blur floated under the door and rematerialised. Haze lay on her back on a neatly made double bed staring at the ceiling. Her eyes darted to him as soon as he solidified. “It’s rude not to knock,” she said coolly.

“It’s also rude to leave a guy locked in a room for hours when there’s no toilet.” Blur countered.

“Point taken,” Haze replied, “my apologies. We’ve been a little preoccupied.”

“I noticed,” Blur said and attempted to sit on the end of the bed but Haze gave him a look that could have killed. He raised his hand, “Okay I can take a hint.”

Haze’s face relaxed as Blur moved to take a seat on a chair. “I thought you would have left by now.”

Blur shrugged, “I didn’t have a lot of choice.”

Haze laughed at that, “Come on mist man, you could have left whenever you wanted. You proved that when I saw you outside the café.”

Blur shrugged, “Someone needed to rescue Chink, she is pretty green.”

Haze sighed, “I know. Normally she doesn’t want to leave the Control Centre. However she’s got quite a thing for Jack. So when he said he was going out she volunteered to go with him.”

“Ah young love,” Blur sat as he sat further back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Haze.

She shrugged, “Unfortunately for Chink, Jack is in love with someone else who until recently had been absent from his life. Of course Chink thought she had a chance with Jack.”

The corner of Blur’s mouth turned upward in a bitter smile, “I’m familiar with such things. Mind you I think Shift is sweet on Chink.”

“She’s too absorbed in Jack to notice,” Haze replied as she looked back up at the ceiling. “So why are you really here still?”

Blur shrugged, “Boredom.”

Haze laughed, “Come on Blur, with the powers you have you could keep yourself amused easily.”

“Ah but amusement shared is so much more fun,” Blur sat as he leant forward in his chair.

“So get a girlfriend,” Haze commented dryly.

Blur chuckled, “If only it were that easy.”

“Go to a nightclub, I’m sure you’d be able to pick up.” Haze said as she continued to study the pattern of shadows on the ceiling.

“Ah but finding a woman of substance and quality at a nightclub is somewhat limited,” Blur said in response.

“I guess so,” Haze said as she looked back at him. “I found Chromium out the front of my apartment block.”

Blur visibly flinched, “Yeah, so I’ve heard.”

“Why don’t you ask Vandal out on a date? She seems to shun Frost half the time. I have no idea if they’re on or off at the moment.” Haze said as she shifted higher up the pillow so she could see Blur more easily.

Blur shook his head and laughed in astonishment, “I prefer my women a little more mentally balanced.”

Haze’s gaze dropped as she thought of Vandal. There was some inner scarring that Vandal had not shared with her. But as a telekinetic she was unable to read Vandal’s thoughts and memories with any real skill or accuracy.

“What’s the matter?” Blur asked as he picked up on Haze’s change in focus.

“I worry about Vandal. Everyone thinks she’s so tough and mentally untouchable. But I think there’s something deeper that she doesn’t share. Something that’s eating her up inside that she doesn’t feel comfortable about sharing. I think the aggression is her way of keeping people from getting to close to finding out the truth,” Haze said as she analysed past behaviour.

“So what is the truth?” Blur asked.

“That I don’t know,” Haze said quietly.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Dusk and Burnou ended their friendly race, Bunrout having won by no small margin.  Dusk however, was able to not only exhibit his flight skills, but practice with them as well.  During the race, Chromium had been seen flying away, which made both racers slightly curious.  However, Chromium's business was his own.  Dusk and Burnout returned to the others, and relaxed in the command centre.  With new, er, old-made-new blood in the group, they couldn't wait for signs of any distrubance.

((Well sorry ph34r but you've made me do this...))

Jack drove as if on an everyday street.  Besides the fact he was drving straight towards another car at 70 mph.  They were getting closer.

"JACK!  Turn this car around right now or so help me I will-"

"You'll what?  Blow my brains out?  Gut me?  Been there done that."

As they drew closer suddenly the Beetle veered off onto the sidewalk wheels squeeling.  Jack gunned it and took the corner.

"There's no way they are catching up now in that piece of crap."

Jack drove the last bit up to Andromeda.  Some personelle releived him of his multiple weapons and Jack parked the Charger underneath.  He took Dessie up to a room.

"This is your room now.  Make the most of it."

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

"You don't want to kill him? He certainly wanted to kill you? He attepted to. What purpose can he serve by being alive?" M'Lure asked Lightshow. She was surpised that he expressed that he didn't want to kill this man. Lightshow was still young, and would learn soon enough it was kill or be killed. Especially as a one with powers average people didn't have or understand. Those people only wanted to use those with powers for their own devices and when they did not want to be used, force them. It was something M'Lure knew only too well.

"Boss. Is it possible that we could use him?"

M'Lure at least admired that Lightshow was a fast thinker. "Fine. She replied. When he's awake you can convince him to join us. If he chooses not to, kill him."  M'Lure pulled two rods of some unknown alloy and used her power to manipulate them into binders around the man's wrists and ankles. She opened the door on the Camaro. She used her powers to easily move the man into the back seat.

"Come now. We have bigger fish to fry. Where is Atma?"

Burnout heard a car enter the base at the lower levels, and saw Jack leading Dessie to the living quarters.  Their business was their own, but Burnout was interested in the car.  For one, it wasn't Jack's.  Secondly, the person who was escorted from the car and into the holding cell looked like he belonged in The Matrix.  Burnout followed him, curious.  When the attendants locked him into the cell, Burnout approached.

"Hey dude. What're you doing here?"

Shift slipped away, he was bored. He was probably going to drive for a bit, he wasn't quite sure him self. As he passed the last bit of the holding cell block he noticed the red light over one of the cells was on. "Thats weird.." he muttered to himself, they hadn't brought anyone else in today, that he knew of. He shifted through the door. The occupant was casually leaning against the far wall smoking a cigar. The man blew a puff of smoke, briefly obscuring his face before it was pulled into a nearby ventilation shaft. "Looks like you got caught." Shift said.

The Volkswagon pulled in front of Andromeda HQ.

"So, we gonna run in there and kill everything that moves?" Alastor asked.

"No, we play this smart. We do the last thing they expect." Anasazi corrected his partner. "We turn ourselves in."

"WHAT?!?" Alastor was indingnant.

"Well, not you, just me. I'll get in there, surrender myself, break out of whatever flimflam cell they put me in, get Jericho, then we get out of here, find you hiding safely on those rooftops, cloaked, then we skedaddle to the last whereabouts of a giant blue monster called Atma and live happily ever after."

"WHAT?!?"

------------------------------------

Mr. Anasazi waltzed right through the Andromeda HQ front door. Provided Alastor behaved, this would all go swimmingly. He marched up to the front desk.

"Hi, I'm looking for an open room, a suite, if you have one, with a King-sized bed all for myself and little mints that magically appear on the pillows each morning, and monogrammed towels that I can steal, along with the inexplicably tiny bottles of shampoo that don't even contain enough to wash my pet teacup chihuahua. Lightshow shrugged. His IPod was on, with one earbud in, set at a low enough volume to avoid absorbing the sonic energy.

"Oh really. How so?"

"That's bogus, I'm sure that wasn't the only reason."

"She was screwing with my mind, so I shot her. But that's beside the point, she was using her powers and authority for her own personal gain and agenda."

"This IS my signature."

"There's a reason that those collar devices are in the comics. They are thought up by non supers, those that do not understand us, or know anything about the nature of our powers.
