Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

IPod on continuous song loop of SOAD's "Deer Dance", Lightshow felt a bullet whiz by him.

Stray sniper shot? Out here? No, not stray...I'm being shot at...

Circumventing circuses
Lamenting in protest
To visible police
Presence sponsored fear

...Ahaaaa, there you are. Somekind of thugs? No, mercs. Nothing better to do. Well you wanted attention, you got it...

Battalions of riot police
With rubber bullet kisses the tongue
Baton courtesy
Service with a smile

...the stranger was loading his rifle, so Lightshow flew in to a closer range...

Beyond the Staples Center you can see America
With its tired, poor, avenging disgrace
Peaceful, loving youth against the brutality
Of plastic existence

...the shooter discarded the rifle, and Lightshow decided to catch him off guard, tackling him has he brought up a pair of desert eagles. Too late...

Pushing little children
With their fully automatics
They like to push the weak around
Pushing little children
With their fully automatics
They like to push the weak around

...Lightshow collided with the man, as he rained blows upon Lightshows head. If he wasn't composed entirely of bioelectric energy, Lightshow would've felt the pain. As of now, the hits just managed to upset him. He yanked the man, kicking and cursing, right out of the van. The energy would've seared any other normal man, but apparently this one had a healing factor of some sort. The man's body burned and healed in a gruesome cycle, stinking of ozone and burning flesh. Well...I guess since you can handle this...

Pushing little children
With their fully automatics
They like to push the weak around
Pushing little children
With their fully automatics
They like to push the weak around

...Lightshow poured large amounts of high voltage into his attacker as he flew higher and higher. Then he let go of the still sizzling form, smoke trailing as it fell to earth...

"Your probably right....I just hate sitting here all the time. Gets boring. You think the others are going to help?"

"Probably, the fire brigade is there."

"So, what do we do? Aside from sit here and watch?" Shift asked. Sometimes he hated his 'job' in Andromeda, he usually was left to feed the other, more powerful members information.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Jack munched on the last of his steak and settled back as he stared at Desdemona.  She was already through her second helping of fries and a burger.  She was devouring it.

"I guess several centuries without food makes you hungry."

She politely wiped her mouth and nodded.

"It's a new experience.  Long ago I had forgot what food tasted like.  And this is so different from what I do remember."

"Well as the name would suggest it's a greasy burger."

"This grease must be pretty good."

"Well once it starts loading onto your thighs I'm sure your opinion will change."

She finished up the last of fries and lay back.  Jack moved to her side of the booth and carressed her hair.  She smiled and curled up to him.  After an unknown amount of time Jack got up and moved to Miriam and pulled out some cash.

"Jack I said it was on the house."

"Well last time I had a girl out I received a lot of flak.  Keep the change."

Jack motioned Desdemona to follow as they made their way through the door.

So Dessie.  How about we test out your new powers?"

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Vandal and Jericho danced the fatalistic tango of knife play. One would slash while the other dodged. The pair were similarly matched at knife fighting although Jericho had more experience than Vandal.

Vandal compensated with her appetite for Jericho’s destruction. She wanted a fair fight so she hadn’t bothered to use her telepathy but she was wanting to. As soon as Jericho went for a gun Vandal planned on bombarding his mind.

Jericho lurched forward, then changed tactic and managed to slice Vandal’s forearm open. “I’m supposed to bleed you, you idiot!” Vandal snarled.

“Then move quicker, woman.” Jericho replied with a smirk. The stain of Vandal’s blood marked his knife.

Vandal ducked low, then slashed high and managed to cut into Jericho’s elbow before he could pull away. “That’s more like it,” Vandal said with a dark smile of satisfaction.

“So let me get this straight, you hate me because I broke your leg? Remind me again how I did that?” Jericho said more to bait her then anything.

“You and Oni were robbing a bank. I saw Oni and made the move to capture him while you smashed the butt of your shotgun into my thigh, fracturing my femur in five places.” Vandal said vehemently.

“Oh yes I do recall that… just.” Jericho said as he smiled sarcastically at Vandal.

“Must suck to be old, Alzheimer’s is common in your family?” Vandal said snidely.

Jericho chuckled darkly, “Tsk, tsk. Feisty are we?”

“You have no idea,” Vandal said as she lunged but kicked out at the same time. Jericho avoided the move and managed to trip Vandal instead.

Vandal fell to the ground and immediately rolled. Jericho’s blade came down mere centimetres from where she’d just been. Vandal pivoted her body on the ground and swung the heel of her foot into Jericho’s abdomen, with her other foot she kicked him in the head as he doubled over. Jericho’s grip on the blade slipped and Vandal took the opportunity to kick it out of his hands. Swiftly Vandal got to her feet.

Jericho pulled a gun, just as Vandal had hoped. She dropped her knife in mock surrender then used the weapon of her mind. Jericho dropped to his knees the moment Vandal invaded his mind. She sent jolts of pain through his body and he was lying on the ground squirming like a slug covered in salt. Vandal was relishing the moment.

Chromium and Haze landed on the other side of Jericho and demanded that Vandal stop whatever it was that she was doing. Vandal ignored them, Jericho needed to be punished. He was evil, so very evil, just like… no she would not think about the man that Jericho reminded her of.

Chromium walked over and shook her but it did not release the hold she had on Jericho’s mind. Haze’s hand suddenly lit up and she plunged a psy-blade into Jericho’s head to render him unconscious. Vandal’s hold was immediately severed.

“NO!” Vandal shouted as she panted with exhaustion.

Chromium looked at Haze in bewilderment then turned to Vandal, “He only broke your leg Vandal, your punishment was far more sinister than what he did to you.”

“No it wasn’t. He deserves to die for what he did. He’s the same, the same I tell you.” Vandal said now starting to babble as she tried to claw her way out of Chromium’s grasp.

Haze walked over and felt Vandal try to attack her telepathically, however Haze had her defences on high alert. She mimicked the same move she had used on Jericho and rendered Vandal unconscious with a psy-blade to the head. Vandal fell limp in Chromium’s arms. “What was that all about?” Chromium asked.

Haze shook her head, “I don’t know but I think there’s a deeper issue plaguing Vandal. I think she’s taking out some inner demon on Jericho, but the question is why?”

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Desdemona turned her head to look at Jack, “Okay,” she said in answer to his question about testing out her powers.

With no effort, Desdemona started to lift off the ground. Jack kept hold of her hand until she lifted him off the ground too. She was surprised at his weight, she hadn’t had a problem carrying him before the transformation. Her brow furrowed with effort, “You’re heavier than I remember.”

“Hey I work out, there’s not an ounce of fat on me.” Jack boasted.

Desdemona looked up then boosted her strength with underworld power. She managed to fly higher and lift Jack up to hold him against her rather than below her.

“You got stronger all of a sudden,” Jack said sounding partially startled.

“I used some underworld energy,” Desdemona informed him.

“Oh,” Jack replied and was about to ask her what else underworld energy did but he was distracted. “Can we fly over there? I see Chromium, he’s shiny under street lights.”

“Sure,” Desdemona said as she held Jack close, the feel of him against her drove her wild.

Desdemona had to take a few deep breaths as they landed, emotions were running riot through her.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Chink thought for a moment as she considered Shift’s question. “I dunno, I’ve been more of an observatory girl rather than a field one.” Then Chink remembered something, “Hey didn’t Haze bring in that Blur dude?”

“Yeah,” Shift said as he scratched his chin. “He was in for questioning, I wonder if they finished.”

Chink checked the monitors, “He’s still there. He must be starving, he’s been in their for hours.”

“Do you think we should talk to him? Even let him out? I don’t think he’s the one destroying the monuments.” Shift said as he rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet.

“Well we should at least let him have a comfort stop,” Chink replied.

“Yeah,” Shift said as they both eagerly eyed the door.

“Let’s go,” Chink said as she stood. It didn’t take them long to get to the room that Blur had been allocated.

Chink released the locked and walked in, her mouth immediately dropped open, “It’s you!”

Blur suddenly looked nervous. He’d had his back to the security camera so Chink had been unable to see his face.

“What do you mean?” Shift asked.

“He helped me at the…” Chink paused as she realised that Blur had some how managed to escape this room to help her, only to return again.

“Helped you what?” Shift said starting to sound a little defensive.

“Helped her pick out a nice dress for the summer ball,” Blur improvised. He could see that Shift was rather protective of Chink. He suspected that Shift was sweet on Chink, his body language suggested so.

Chink swallowed, “Ah yeah, the dress.”

Shift was looking between Chink and Blur, clearly sceptical. “So where’s this ball on at?”

“Mission City Hall,” Blur said before Chink had to make something up.

Shift raised his brows, “Did we all get an invite?”

Chink opened her mouth to speak but once again Blur cut in, “You can buy tickets it’s for charity.”

“Oh,” Shift said then he looked at Chink, “So who are you going with?” Chink frowned and Shift immediately assumed he knew, “Is was supposed to be with Jack wasn’t it? You didn’t tell him.”

Blur couldn’t believe how well this was fitting together.

Chink looked at Shift with a pink glow in her cheeks, “Well I hadn’t bought the tickets yet.”

Shift opened his mouth to speak but there was a loud boom and the building shook.

“What was that?” Blur said as he stood.

“I think we’re under attack,” Shift said as he made his way for the door.

Chink hurried along behind him, “But who would attack us?”

Shift laughed, “Ah any villain who has a bone to pick with us.”

“Oh yeah,” Chink said feeling foolish. She didn’t notice that Blur had followed them out.

((Any villains volunteering to be the attackers? Otherwise I'm sure we can come up with some other comical reason for the boom))

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Jack combat rolled onto the ground pulling his katana out.

"General Jack reporting for duty!  Where are they, I'll kill em!"

Haze stared at Jack as if he was nuts.  Technically he was.

"Jack.  Think you can take Jericho here back to Andromeda?"

"Sure no prob.  Can I take his car?"

"Why not?"

Jack threw the unconscious Jericho in the back of the Charger.  He hopped in the driver seat and buckled up.

"Remember kids safety first."

Dessie followed suit and fastened the seat belt.  Jack hammered it into first and took off.

He looked to Dessie who was idly staring out the window.

"Don't do that for two long.  It makes you sick.  And this isn't even my car.  I'm sure Jerry back there wouldn't want your burger all over the upholstery.  So what's it like being human?"

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Desdemona took a moment to answer Jack, “It’s rather overwhelming at the moment. My emotions seem so erratic compared to what they were.”

Jack looked rather interested, “Go on.”

“When I was a soul eater, I felt fleeting emotions. They were almost echoes of true emotions. It has been a very long time since I was last human. I had forgotten what it is like to have emotions. They can make rational thought difficult at times.” Desdemona told as she ran a hand through her hair and looked back out the window. She felt a distinct feeling of awkwardness. Her chest was tightening, her mouth felt dry and Jack was looking at her in a way that was making her feel hot.

“I gave up rationality some time ago,” Jack said with a chuckle as he pulled his eyes away from Dessie to look at the road.

Desdemona laughed gently, it was lilting and light. It was the first time she’d laughed in centuries, “That’s what I like about you Jack. You’re different.”

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Jack looked away.  "Different indeed."

"How do you mean?"

"Let's just say I'm not your average super-hero.  I've done many things throughout my life.  Things I regret.  But it's worked out for the better hasn't it?  I mean I have you and I've finally made it of the B-List.  I'm a class A act."

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

As Jack, Desdemona and the unconscious Jericho left in the Charger, Haze walked over to Chromium who still held Vandal in his arms.

“Geez cuddle another woman before me, you really are rude.” Haze said with a cheeky grin.

“I can’t help it if women faint at the glorious sight of me,” Chromium said with just as much mirth.

Haze laughed and smiled at Chromium, “Oh you do have tickets on yourself now don’t you?”

“Not really,” Chromium said with a slight touch of seriousness.

Haze nodded and looked at Vandal. She brushed Vandal’s bright red fringe from her face. Her fringe was such a contrast to the rest of her dark hair. “Something bad must have happened to her once.”

Chromium also looked at Vandal, “I suspect she’s suffered some sort of abuse.”

Haze went sombre, “I sincerely hope not, but it would explain a lot.”

“I’ll take her back to Andromeda,” Chromium said, “You can hold onto my back if you like.”

Haze shook her head, “No I’ll walk back, I want some time alone.”

Chromium raised a metal brow, “Is something wrong?”

“No, I just need some thinking time.” Haze said as she leant in to give Chromium a kiss on the cheek.

Chromium turned his face to capture her lips with his, “You be careful.”

“Always am,” Haze said as he lifted into the air.

Once he was gone she headed back towards the Gas Station. Flame was waiting in an alley for her. “So how about that coffee?” she asked, she felt she really needed it.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Desdemona looked back at Jack, “B-List? Class A act? I don’t understand.”

“Okay I was considered a meagre super but these days I’ve since proved my worth,” Jack said trying to explain it in terms Dessie would understand.

“Ah, I see.” Then she turned to Jack very seriously, “I’ve never considered you meagre. You were very strong, especially to be able to fight off Magnus. He was very powerful.”

Jack chuckled a little forcefully, “Yeah, Magnum. Piece of cake.”

Again Desdemona was confused, “Magnus? Cake?”

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

"Ah, come on!" Anasazi  groaned as he and Alastor watched Jericho's Charger speed down the road in the opposite direction they were facing, with Jack in the driver's seat. "Looks like Vandal knocked him out."

"So..." Alastor asked, anxiously.

"Yeah, looks like we'll have to fight them."

Alastor and Anasazi then turned around to follow Jericho's Charger.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

As Burnout raced back towards Andromeda headquarters, he heard a tremendous boom.  Worried, he picked up speed, and burst into the facility through the side doors, immediately running to the command centre of the base, where they monitored the exterior sensors, and communications.  He glanced across the screens of the security cameras, and tried to determine the source of the explosion.

What's going on?

((If no villains want to pop up, I think I've got a nonlethal idea for the boom.))

Due to maintenance problems, the light at the end of the tunnel will not be in operation today.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Jack slowly made his way in the city.

"Piece of cake.  Yet anther idiom.  Same as eas as pie.  It means that it was realy no big deal.  I've faced worse in my time.  Take for example the one who killed my parents..."  Jack realized he was talking and his mouth shut.shut.  He had almost said too much.  Idly Jack looked out the rearview mirror and before Desdemona pressed on about his past Jack continued on.

"Dessie don't look now but we are being followed."

"How would you know?"

"I don't.  But my common sense is tingling.((Yay Deadpool!))  Watch this.  I saw it in a movie once."

Jack sed up and at the last moment took the corner hard.  The other car followed suit.

"Hey it worked.  I must be a tactical genius or something.  This may get messy.  I'm up for an epic car chase.  Come on mystery pursuer.  Let's make this Bullitt style."

Jack floored it and took off towards Andromeda.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Jericho went in and out on conscienceness twice before forcing himself awake. Dazed, but now able to move, he heard voices.

"...my common sense is tingling. Watch this, I saw it in a movie once." Jericho almost knew exactly what was going to happen. The raw power of the Supercharged 440 Magnum caused the car to jerk hard around the corner, going into a sideways burnout before straightening up.

"Hey it worked.  I must be a tactical genius or something.  This may get messy.  I'm up for an epic car chase.  Come on mystery pursuer.  Let's make this Bullitt style."

Jericho reached under the back seat and pulled out a black Desert Eagle. He cocked the hammer back and pressed the cold muzzle against the back of Jack's head. "Do and die."

Jack eyes widened. He looked in the rear view mirror to see Jericho clutching yet another .50AE Desert Eagle.
"GAH! How many of those things do you have?!"

"Too many to count my friend, too many to count."

"This IS my signature."

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

"Jericho,  I hope you do realize if you shoot me you'll be the only one to die."

"Oh yah?"

"Think about it.  I have a healng factor.  You shoot me in the head and go unconscious for about 5 minutes.  We crash because there is no driver.  You die.  Simple as that.  I'm sure even you can figure that out."

Jericho switched the gun onto Dessie.  "How abot your little girlfriend?"

Jack laughed.  "If you do remember Dessie she's a soul eater.  Nothing hurts her."  Jack was bluffing.  He knew she had a healing factor but it still was great pain.  And everyone had a weak spot.  He didn't know where hers was.  So he wasn't willing to risk it.  Jack could tell Jericho was thinking it over.

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

"Ah yes, Dessie, I remember you. I'm not that cruel anyway." Jericho moved his aim back to Jack. "But if you hurt my car, I swear to you, I will cut out your entrails, fry them, and feed them to you."

"Mmm. Do they taste like chicken? If they do I will gladly. I've eaten many unknown substances take for example...Chilled Monkey Brains."

"You are impossible..." Jericho holstered the Desert Eagle. "Where we headed?"

"This IS my signature."

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

Mr. Anasazi and Alastor continued to pursue Jack, barely making through the hellish turn Jack had pulled off. This was only worsened by the fact Anasazi was driving a cherry-red Volkswagon Beetle.

"Alastor go airborne, try and airlift Jeri out of their clutches. Don't kill anyone."

Alastor huffed. "Fine." He jumped out of the car and took to the air, flying low and trying to catch up to the Charger, since Jack seemed to have floored it.

"Some hero!" He yelled. "Obey the #$%^ing SPEED LIMIT!!!" He hurled some bolts at the car, knicking the paint.

"Hey!" Jericho whirled around in the back seat, gun still-pointed at Jack. "What are you doing?!?" He yelled at Alastor.

"Saving you!"

"Well try and be a little gentler!"

-------------------------------------

Mr. Anasazi tried to maintain control while keeping up the chase. He always hated car chases. He preferred a good ol' fashioned fist fight instead. This was going to be interesting.

Shift was confused. Again. What ball? He hadn't heard about a damn ball. Wouldn't something have been on the news or whatever? He highly doubted that there even was one. But then again he didn't watch the news much. The only info he needed to know was purely tactical. And that usually wasn't even for him. Shift opened his mouth to say something but was cut out by a loud boom as the building shook.

"What was that?" Blur asked

"I think were under attack." Shift said hurrying out the door.

"But who would attack us?" Chink asked, hurrying behind him.

"Uh any villain with a bone to pick with us." Shift answered laughing slightly

"Oh yeah."

They ran into the control room to see if they could find anything and saw Burnout. "What the hell just happened?" Shift asked.

Flame looked up, he had dropped into an alley, intending to walk for a bit when Haze showed up. He felt the sudden urge to tell her. "There is a bit of a problem with my appearance." Flame said.

"I could go in and get it." Haze offered.

"Thanks."   They started to walk down the street, and unsurprisingly, soon came upon a Starbucks. "What will you have?" Flame looked up, reading the menu, he had rather good vision. He had no idea what half the stuff on there was. "Just a normal coffee, black." he finally said.  "Alright." Haze said, crossing the street and walking into the shop.

(Dude, its really hard to follow your postings, with your misspellings, grammar, and stuff...I think I know what you described...)

Lightshow was tired of this guy already. His accelerated healing was annoying.

Why don't you just stay down?...

His IPod switched songs, and as Tool's "Eulogy" began to play, the man seemed to regain consciousness and reach for his rifle again.

He had a lot to say
He had a lot of nothing to say
We'll miss him
I'll miss him
He had a lot to say
He had a lot of nothing to say
We'll miss him
I'll miss him
We're gonna miss him
We're gonna miss him

Not again...

It's so long now
We wish you well
You told us how you weren't afraid to die
Well so long
Don't cry
Or feel too down
Not all martyrs see divinity
But at least you tried

A shot was fired and easily dodged...

Standing above the crowd
He had a voice that was strong and loud
We'll miss him
I'll miss him
Ranting and pointing his finger
At everything but his heart
We'll miss him
I'll miss him
We're gonna miss him
We're gonna miss him

The man's lips moved...something about money...Lightshow knew he was annoyed..."Well, so am I buddy"...

There's no way
To recall
What it was that you had said to me
Like I care at all
But it was so loud
You sure could yell
You took a stand on every little thing
And so loud

As the guitar riffs peaked, Lightshow channeled the sound-fueled bio-electricity into a potent blast. He tossed it at the man, who was loading his sniper rifle. The man rolled away from the blast, landing in a kneeling position. Lightshow couldn't help but smirk at the mistake. Kneeling was a fine position for a sniper. This wasn't the right choice of tactic when the target knew he was being shot at. Lightshow figured that anyone worth his weight as a sniper would know that, especially having logged in countless hours of the old shooter classic, Call of Duty 4, at various friend's houses...

Standing above the crowd
He had a voice that was strong and loud and I
Swallowed his facade 'cause I'm so
Eager to identify with
Someone above the ground
Someone who seemed to feel the same
Someone prepared to lead the way and
Someone who would die for me

The man looked through his sniper scope...

Will you?
Will you now?
Would you die for me?
Don't you f'n lie
Don't you step outta line
Don't you step outta line
Don't you step outta line
Don't you f'n lie

Lightshow prepped another blast...

You've claimed all this time
That you would die for me
Why then are you so surprised
When you hear your own eulogy?

The man raised the rifle barrel...

He had a lot to say
He had a lot of nothing to say
He had a lot to say
He had a lot of nothing to say

Come down
Get off your f'n cross
We need the f'n space
To nail the next fool martyr

Lightshow released the blast. From his kneeling position, the man took longer to react. The blast engulfed him and his rifle, the superheated metal warped and melted into a useless metallic lump as the man dropped to the floor screaming, burned and writhing in white-hot bioelectric energy...

To ascend, you must die
You must be crucified
For our sins and our lies
Goodbye

Lightshow floated to the ground, still in his energy form...

Re: RPG- Superhumans 2: Anarchy

M'Lure had noticed the sounds of gunfire off in the immediate area where she was heading. It also was right where she was following the tracking device from the Camaro she had let Flame and Lightshow take. Whatever was going on she hoped that they didn't end up trashing the car. "That's my job" she thought

She spun the car around fast as she pulled her Charger beside the Camaro, just in time to see Lightshow, alone, land gently on the ground. She noticed there was a man writhing in pain on the ground next to a mound of smoking slag.

M’Lure had thought that this was Atma’s location, and that was the reason for them to stop. But as she noticed, there were a group of thugs attacking Lightshow.

“Where’s Flame?” She demanded of the glowing super.

“Left. Went to town.”

M’Lure chided herself at actually trusting another being. Of course he couldn’t actually finish a job. At least it was not a costly mistake either one of them made. One she wasn’t going to make again.

“What happened here then?” M’Lure asked. She wanted to crush something.
