Dude, their second only to the spartans. It takes a special kind of crazy to join them, every mission is a suicide mission due to how their inserted. So some mandos may not have what it takes tongue

Re: Non starwars mandos.

going on suicide missions doesnt make them any good. And the only reason there second to spartans is because the UNSC only has three different types of units: Marine, ODST and Spartans.

The Terminator is a droid, droids cant be Mandos.

Why can't droids be Mandos??  Mandalorians are some of the most open minded characters in Star Wars about droids.  Even Obi-Wan sounded prejudice against droids:  "Well if droids could think, there'd be none of us here, would there?" or something like that; while Mandos openly used and loved their droids.  A Basilik got a warrior's funeral when it got deactivated in the old times.  I don't know of a case where a droid WAS a Mando, but I've never heard of anybody saying they COULDN'T be one, either.

Besides, I'd like to see ANYBODY try to tell the Terminator or HK-47 that they couldn't do something they wanted to do    tongue

I agree with Ralin.  The Terminator was amazing and besides, he's not full droid, he's a cyber genetic organism. (did i get that right?)  Anyhow, how about some lord of the rings characters.  Legolas and Aragorn seem like they would be good additions to the Mando society.  Hmm, have to think of some more but i'll get back to you guys big_smile

What the hell does this have to do with 'accepting'?? The guy your talking about is just a stupid Ura-Kai(spelling?) in Sarmans plan. Saying he can be Mandolorain, is like saying a goblin could be a real world Spartan.

Re: Non starwars mandos.

nah, i don't think Lurtz would've made a good Mando. just good to have on the battlefield. i think Boromir would make an interesting mando (obviously before he died lol)...

Re: Non starwars mandos.

Yes Boromir would make an exelent Mando

Um no actually.  Lurtz was Saruman's prize Uruk.  Skilled fighter.  He could have matched Boromir in swords.  But he was a movie character so we don't know that much besides what he saw.

But it took the King of Gondor to defeat him and he didn't go down without a fight.  He died a Jango death.

which non starwars tv/movie/comic/game/book characters would be good mandos?
John Mclane

McLane would make a funny Mando bountyhunter  big_smile

bounty:  "You can't hurt me"

McLane: "Oh yeah?  Why not?"

bounty:  "Because you are a bountyhunter and I'm supposed to be taken back alive.  There are rules for bountyhunters"

McLane: "Yeah, that's what Jabba keeps telling me"  *bashes annoying bounty in head with blaster*     big_smile

And I agree with Sev about Lurtz; he was really something I thought.  He gave Aragorn quite a fight before he kicked the bucket, and died with some real Mando attitude.  He was my insperation to play an Orc on Oblivion   *I know, Sev; not an Orc.  But that's as close as I can get on Oblivion   big_smile *

Re: Non starwars mandos.

Grimlock - Transformers Generation 1

Black Templar Space Marines and anyother Loyal Space Marine. If you actually think about it they are pretty close to having alot of Mando values already.

By the way A_A this is an AWESOME topic!!!

Re: Non starwars mandos.

Then you misjudge Lurtz.  All Uruks were faster, stronger, smarter, etc.  Orcs were just mindless rabble.  And he shows how smart he is.  He takes Boromir out from a distance.  Any other Orc or Uruk would have blindly charged in as you saw many of them doing.

Re: Non starwars mandos.

I don't think the Witch-King or Sauron would make good-mandos.  Sauron is a plotter.  He isn't one who usually goes out and fights.  And they both represent evil.  Because they are.  While Mandos go to who ever has the best offer.
