Re: RPG-Superhumans

Flame looked around, these were people who had helped him. But some of them were also, and unfortunately would always be enemies. He did all that was left to do. He noded to them, Chromium first, Haze next, Jack, Desdemona, Ronin, Jericho, and finaly Frost, then he turned, and walked away.

(hey, if anyone wants to say something hes not speed walking)

((this sucks, 38 pages and barely an ounce of character development on Flame *hint hint nudge nudge*))

((Ouch!  If my characters were in contact with yours more often, they'd have talked to him on his past.  But my guys were like, their own sub-plot, and they didn't mingle with too many people.  Which was kinda what I was trying to avoid, but I failed at that.  Sorry Adeptus))

Re: RPG-Superhumans

"Ho there Flame," Chromium said to Flame sternly. Flame stopped and looked back at Chromium.

"I hoped you would join us at Ronin's." He told Flame. But then he looked at Ronin, who had no legs.

"Well, you cant party in that condition can you Ronin?" Chromium said. he bent over Ronin and extended a hand over each missing leg. Silver metal liquid flowed from his hands and formed a leg replacement for both legs. Ronin stared in shock and awe and stood up cautiously.

"Very well Ronin, your place?" He asked as he extended his arm to Haze and she took it.

Haze took Chromium's arm. "Now then do you have some good food at your place, Ronin? I'm famished."

Re: RPG-Superhumans

Desdemona finally parted herself from Jack and although there was celebrating going on she couldn't be happy. Her emotions were gone. Void had gone to a different realm so now she could not complete her quota. She looked at Jack, "I have to go now."

"What, don't you become human now? Void's gone." Jack said as the smile started to fade from his face.

Desdemona shook her head. My job was to send him to the underworld. He has gone to another realm without my assistance."

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Re: RPG-Superhumans

Jack was desperate.  "So he's not dead?"

"No he's in a limbo state of sorts."

"Is there a way to get there?  Anything I can do?"

Re: RPG-Superhumans

Desdemona shook her head, "If I went there I couldn't come back."

She took a step closer to Jack, "There's the possibility that I could ask to have Void switched to someone else so I can complete my quota, but it doesn't mean that they will die straight away."

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Re: RPG-Superhumans

Ronin stood up, wobbling a bit to get used to his new legs. They functione, sure, but htye weren't his. He'd prbably build his won substitues when he returned to his lair--er, base. Seemed Ronin was in the hero business. He had to admit, he had partly enjoyed putting the heart on those bad guys.

"Alright, buds, let's get going. I think TBS is showing The Crucible tonight and we can still make it if we book it. Those who flew took to the skies, and those who could not piled into Jericho's car, except Desdemona and Jack, who were talking off to the side.

"Hey, guys? You comin' or what?"

Haze stepped into Chromium's embrace as they shot into the sky. As they flew together they noticed that the Police were still rounding up supers. "What can we do to clear our names?" Haze wondered.

"Perhaps the body of Harry will explain things enough." Chromium suggested.

Haze shook her head. "I think the Police are out for blood, especially with the death of their own."

Suddenly a hail of bullets came their way as if to confirm what they'd just said. Chromium immediately covered Haze.

They think you're a criminal. Haze voiced to him, Harry has set up almost everyone!

Re: RPG-Superhumans

Flame had decided to walk, he knew how to get there, and he didnt want to be in a car full of supers when the cops were hunting them. He did his best to stay hidden, keeping to the rooftops when he could. He looked over, at a large building, he thought he saw a flash. Strange. He stopped for a moment. A helecopter was flying off in the distance. Still hunting the 'Freaks'? Flame thought. A truck rumbled past. The helecopter sounded closer. Flame looked back at the rooftop, slightly nervous. A muzzle flash revealed the roof for a fraction of a second. A bullet hit the gravel on the roof Flame was on. A light flashed on, being held on Flame by the chopper. Flame ran, already planning the series of loops he would take, hoping to lose the police, then make it to Ronin's.

"Damn." Chromium said. He covered Haze and took any bullets that got close. He sped up and kept heading towards Ronin's.

"How can we clear our names?" Chromium asked Haze

Re: RPG-Superhumans

Desdemona looked at Jack and saw the desperation on his face. “I will need to go, I’ll return to you when I can. It may take some time to negotiate something.”

“Promise me you’ll come back,” Jack said as he took her hands in his.

Desdemona looked at their linked hands, “I will Jack.” She move towards him and gave him a kiss goodbye and hoped it wouldn’t be forever. “I will return if I can.” She told then disappeared into a mist.

Re: RPG-Superhumans

(you know...its not that suprising that we have 38 pages, when all we do is OOC posts tongue )

Flame ran, he was breathing heavily, the light from the chopper turning everything's outline harsh and ragged. He heard a whistling tearing sound as a tracer round streaked past his head. Pain flashed on his side, a bullet had grazed him. That caused him to stumble slightly, he regained his footing, barely. He turned slightly, still running, and threw fire back at the police persuing him. He ducked into a alley way, and folowed it. He reached the museum with police sirens sounding in the distance. He had lost them.

Re: RPG-Superhumans

Everyone had returned to Ronin’s  base, prepared to rejoice and relax after all the bedlam of late. Music was played, delicious food and fine wine were served, and there was much rejoicing.

Flame and Sunburn, seeming to have struck up a friendship, stood in one corner, having another battle-of-the-mini-flame-people. Flame seemed to have conjured a flaming dragon to combat Sunburn’s army of little flame-knights.  Jack sat on a barstool, his thoughts as far away as the woman he loved.

Ronin tapped his glass with a fork.

“Ahem…” He cleared his throat. “I propose a toast. To all the fun we’ve had together, and all the madness we’ve survived.”

“Amen.” Jericho said before downing his glass.

“To Darklight.” Jack added.

“To Darklight.” Sunburn repeated, suddenly very solemn.

“To Starbright.” Haze added.

The entire cabal of supers agreed. “To Starbright.”

“To love.” Chromium voiced, his deep basso echoing inside the base, gazing into Haze’s eyes. Jack’s shoulders fell.

Frost took a seat next to Vandal. “hey, Vandal, mind if I, uh, sit here.”

“…Why not.” Vandal said, much to Frost’s surprise.

((Bonus Director's Cut material follows:))

“So, uhhhh, that was fun, eh?” Frost said, kinda nervously, approaching Vandal.

“Um, yeah, sure. You have a twisted sense of fun, ya know?”

“I know, but life’s better like that, dude. Sometimes you just gotta hang loose. Heh, you just gotta chill… Sorry, I can’t resist.” Frost shrugged.

“Ya know, you’re not so bad for such a cold-hearted guy.”

“Ha! See, I told you. Bad puns are inevitable.”

The beginnings of a smile appeared on Vandal’s face. “You want a drink?” Frost asked her, “Lemme get ya one.”

“Yeah, sure. Um, apricot brandy… on the rocks.”

Frost grinned, popping ice cubes out of thin air into a glass he pulled off a shelf from the bar. Grabbing a bottle, he poured the glass, then another one for himself. “For you, mademoiselle. Heh, I like French. Anyways, to us!” He toasted, “We make a pretty good team.”

“That we do. To us!” They clinked the glasses together, and each took a drink, happy and content.

“We still have a slight problem.” Sunburn said, pointing to a TV that showed all the heroes still wanted for arrest. “We’re all criminals.”

“Well, we were a pretty good team, I’m sure if we work together we can clear our names.” Haze suggested.

“Not a bad idea.” Jack added, liking where this was going.

“Well? Are we all in accordance? Should we all join forces?” Chromium said, asking the question on everyone’s mind.

“Yes.” Haze chirped.

“Heck yeah.” Frost added.

“Sure.” Sunburn said.

“Fine.” Vandal grumbled.

“Allriiiiiiight!” Jack whooped.

“Well Okay then.” Chromium said, nodding his head contentedly. It felt good to be part of a team, especially with such powerful and trustworthy allies. He looked around at each of their confident and happy faces, sure that their combine power could clear their good names. Except...

Chromium looked around. Ronin was gone. As was Jericho. In fact, Flame couldn’t be found either.

“Where…?”

"This ain't good." Sunburn whirled his head around the base.

"Guess they couldn't resist the bad side." Vandal concluded.

"Should we go looking?" Jack asked.

"..." Chromium thought about it. "Nah. They've helped us plenty. If they want to be left alone, I can hardl blame them. Besides we've got plenty more work to do just clearing our names....but I can't think of anyone else I'd rather do it with than you guys."

----------------------------------------------

Atop the roof of the museum, Flame stood like a stoic statue of solidarity. A “freak” like him would bring nothing but madness and chaos to the assemblage of friends gathered around below. Flame jumped down to the street below. Time to relocate and start anew, as much as a lizard man like himself could.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Elsewhere, Jericho and Ronin sped away in Jericho’s car, eager to get as much distance between themselves and Mission City as possible.

“Can’t believe they didn’t see us skip out.” Jericho said.

“Eh, they’ll realize soon enough.”  Ronin replied, picking up a toolbox to start building some more natural replacement legs.

“It was fun while it lasted.”

“That it was, Jer. That it was."

"So what now, boss man?"

"We do what we always do, Jeri. We relocate, we start fresh, we lead a life of debauchery and crime...and we improvise."

"Wouldn't have it any other way." Jericho concurred, putting fresh clips in his desert eagles.

The two friends sped away in the back of the car, leaving their old lives behind, and moving onward into the brand new day of tomorrow.

THE END

((Don't woory continuity huggers, I've worked this out with the neccessary parties.))
