Topic: Aylin Vel

What do you think of Aylin Vel, Boba Fett's supposed daughter, recently explained in Star Wars Insider?  I think that the idea of her is stupid, and that she should never have been invented.  It is totally out of charactar for Boba Fett to have a daghter, he sees attachement to a member of the opposite sex as a weakness remember?  It's just stupid, and I say down with Aylin Vel.

Re: Aylin Vel

I don't know much about this character, except what you can find from Wikipedia... could someone scan that Insider article for me? smile

Re: Aylin Vel

I say Aylin is just insane, messed up by her mom, Sintas. I think Sintas was insane, thought Jodo was Boba, and then insisted Aylin was Boba's when in fact Boba couldn't stand Sintas. That's why Boba calls her "Sin" in the comic, cause he thinks her birth was a sin, lol.

Course I dunno if that's canon-canon or just my version of canon. But I prefer my version.  After all, if we lived In-Galaxy, we're in the post-post-NJO-Books time era and Insider is just reporting what it knows right now. Who knows, in a few years the people at Insider might uncover the truth, buried in a computer found by an archeologist. wink

Re: Aylin Vel

Daenna, part of the discussions in this Serious Geeking forum will lead to some firm answers on these kinds of "everything Boba Fett" details, so that instead of Wikipedia, you're in-the-know with BFFC's "Fettipedia." Same structure, but I'm interested in sources, not just conjecture.

So, head's up everyone: that area of the site will be looking for more moderator/expert Fett archivists in the coming month.

Re: Aylin Vel

I did not get that insider, but that is interesting... I actually had thought of Boba having a daughter before, but it wouldnb't really make sense. It is absolutely against his style. I think it would make more sense for him to clone himself as his father did if he wanted an offspring.

Oh, and the Fettidpedia sounds interesting...

Re: Aylin Vel

Glad that my opinion is generaly shared here as far as Aylin Vel is concerned.  I I'm right, she will eventually meet the same fate Jodo Kast did if she keeps on being a Boba Fett imposter.

Re: Aylin Vel

Somehow Ailyn makes me a lot angrier than Sintas did.  Ailyn just doesn't have the mystique of her mother.  Don't know why for sure.

Re: Aylin Vel

I don't know that much about Ailyn Vel.Though,I write about 'aggresive nagotions(sp?)'between my OC and her all the time.So the past that I've made up for her in my head is just fluff.Anybody know much about her?

They say that dreamers are an extinct breed. I say they're wrong.

Re: Aylin Vel

here is an article that tells everything about Ailyn Vel, or at least its what they say.  Again, I don't believe that Boba would decide to have a daughter, but here it is:

Ailyn Vel
From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki.

Ailyn Vel
Biographical information
Physical description
Species Near-Human (Human/Kiffar)
Gender Female
Hair color Black
Eye color Blue
Chronological and political information

Affiliation Bounty hunter
Ailyn Vel was the daughter of Boba Fett and Sintas Vel.

By the age of sixteen, she had lost both her parents—her father left the family, and her mother later died. She became a very successful bounty hunter, like her father, and devoted many years to hunting her father down, to avenge her mother's death.

She eventually assumed the role of Boba Fett himself, keeping her real identity unknown.

[edit]Biography
The time and place of Ailyn's birth was unknown, though it was believed that she was born on Concord Dawn somewhere between 16 BBY and 12 BBY, when her father was between 17 and 21. Her mother, Sintas Vel, was a Kiffar bounty hunter, while her father, Boba Fett, was believed to be a Journeyman Protector of Concord Dawn at the time.

For unknown reasons, Ailyn's father walked out on the family while she was still very young. As a result, Ailyn grew to hate her father. She lived with her mother for her child and teenage years.

Tragedy struck Ailyn again on her sixteenth birthday, when her mother was killed in pursuit of a bounty. Sintas had taken the bounty mission for the sole purpose of getting credits to buy a special birthday gift for her daughter. Ailyn was devastated by the loss.

The death of Ailyn's mother fueled the strong hatred she had towards her father, and her ambition in life became to kill Boba, blaming him for the death of her mother.

A holographic image of baby Ailyn with parents Boba Fett and Sintas Vel.Tracking Fett was a difficult task for young Ailyn, so she resorted to becoming a hunt-saboteur in hope of finding Fett in her travels. Unfortunately, her efforts went unrewarded for a long time.

It was not until some years after the reported death of Fett at the Pit of Carkoon that Ailyn felt she could finally move on in life. It was from that point that she began her career as a bounty hunter.

Years later, Ailyn discovered that her father still lived, and so the biggest hunt of her lifetime had resumed. She eventually hunted Fett down in the Extrictarium Nebula. However, on confronting her target, she found a man that was not her father, but was in fact an old clone of Jango Fett known as Alpha-Ø2. Ailyn killed the old ARC clone trooper and took his Mandalorian armor with her, and so her hunt continued.

Ailyn returned to hunting bounties, and on occasion would equip the Mandalorian armor and act as Boba Fett, in order to receive bounties of much larger payouts. She began to truly believe that she was his equal or better.

It wasn't until 15 ABY that Ailyn finally believed her father to be dead (again). She eventually tracked Fett down at Shogun and found evidence of a dead Mandalorian supercommando. She also found Fett's Slave IV and took it as her own, assuming the corpse was that of her father.

From then on she took his identity, taking jobs from Bwahl the Hutt and for Nolaa Tarkona of the Diversity Alliance to find shipping merchant Bornan Thul. She eventually found Thul, discovering what he'd been hiding-the coordinates of a plague storehouse-and then transmitting that data to Tarkona. The Diversity Alliance crumbled in battle with the New Republic.

Ailyn's exploits during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion and beyond are heretofore unknown.

All lies, if you ask me.

Very simple reason.  Jodo was a pig and couldn't take responsibility raising his kid, and plus, he had to leave so he could go be in Twin Engines of Destruction and get blown up.

Re: Aylin Vel

Re: Aylin Vel

Fett was married to Sintas Vel, but she and Ailyn kept thier lst name for secrecy reasons. All of this is canon. I would asume thate Fett did this for a legacy.

Re: Aylin Vel

Boba's not that stupid, he wouldn't marry Sintas, let alone look at her without getting a twitchy trigger finger...

Re: Aylin Vel

I agree.  It is totally out of character for him.  If he wanted legacy, he would have made a clone of himself like Jango did.

Re: Aylin Vel

Has anyone asked someone smart about this.....i mean is there some way that we can get ahold of somebody that knows? How about the actor that plays jango, TM might know. Because...this is an important subject   i mean...we are talking about boba fett's family....

Re: Aylin Vel

MandalorianSpy9, Temura Morrison would have no way of knowing. Spider-Fett, is it possible to clone a clone? Last but most certianly not least, Miba does it state anywhere that Sintas is unworthy of Fett? From what I can tell, she is a fairly good bounty hunter, and has honor.

Re: Aylin Vel

In my own humble opinion, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to clone a clone, all you'd need is Jango DNA, amd Boba has plenty of that.

Re: Aylin Vel

I guess we'll never know the real answer to this.......everybody do research.....and let's try and post what we find. This is a pretty interresting subject and cannot be ignored. I'll start looking around for info.

MandalorianSpy9, we really know all that we can know about her, she was only in a few cimic books.

Re: Aylin Vel

Well, apart from being really ugly, Sintas doesn't seem that smart, and she seems like a sort of a weak character. And showing that sort of familarity with Boba in public is dangerous. Some passersby goes, "They have nicknames for each other? They must be really close. Heey, you don't think they're together, do you? Alright, I'm kidnapping her to get to him, yay!"

Of anyone, I think Steven Sansweet would know the answer to this. He knows everything.

Can any of you high ranking admin people look into contacting this guy or is that just another dead end?

Re: Aylin Vel

Oh, contacting Sansweet's fairly easy. Just pick up an Insider, look in the Collecting section and there we go, an address for him. Or at least an email address. I guess it would probably be a bad idea to send that sort of question through a collecting email addy for Insider, though, but we could always try. There is Pabs's FAQ in Insider, and he's sorta like Sansweet's padawan, I'm guessing. (pabs is Pablo Hidalgo, I used to know him a small bit on the sw.com boards)

And, ok, I guess Sintas is fairly pretty.

Re: Aylin Vel

Anyways, i think that the idea of Jodo being her father and Sintas mistaking him for Boba is probably the most logical.

We could always start writing letters and e-mails, but I really dread the answer we'd get.  ("Star Wars Tales is now cannon, why are you asking?  Morality?  What morality?  Tales of the Bounty Hunters hasn't been cannon for years!")  I think that would be a lot more painful than just guessing.

The only information out there is going to be stuff Wiki/wookieepedia has made up, or else stuff that we all know.  At this point, I really doubt anybody out there knows more about the Fettster than we do; among us all, we have access to just as many magazines and comics as anybody on Wookieepedia would have (and if someone knew more than us about Fett, then why wouldn't they join the BFFC?)

With the way GL has let us down in the past, I feel like the definition of "cannon" is up to the individual fans.  It's a fictitious world after all, so I say we believe whatever we want.  Who cares whether or not George has approved it?  Better to wait till an author (who actually has a respect for the fans) writes a novel or comic that explains the whole Sintas deal.  The people on top probably haven't made a decision yet, and I wouldn't want to spur them into one.  I'd much rather have an author do it.  After all, it was authors who gave him morality and personality in the first place.
