Topic: Creating a soundtrack to your books

This may sound strange but when I read I always have music playing at the same time. Music is a big part of my life and I dont go a hour with out it. But the coolest thing that I discovered is when you listen to the music again it takes you back to the book that you read while listening to it. My sound track for the Bounty Hunter Trilogy was the album Vulgar Display of Power by Pantera and for the Lord of the Rings it was the self titled first album by System of a Down, which was so much better then the films score. Does anyone else have the same thing

I cant draw so its all about the reading

" Hi!"

Re: Creating a soundtrack to your books

I have never listened to music while reading. I like it pretty quiet, but I might try the music thing.

Yeah, I listen while drawing also. It's very relaxing.

When I read or draw, it is pretty much just a mixture of metal, especially Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie.

take it easy baby take it as it comes

Re: Creating a soundtrack to your books

Usually I can do multiple things at once, I can listen to a tv and read at the same time, or listen to people talking and read. If it's a book I don't care too much about. If it's something I really want to read and get into and pay attention to I have to have silence.

Silence? What's that?  I wouldn't know because I always have something going on, either the TV, Radio, my ipod, something. I always paint, write, cook, read, and other stuff to music.  Since I have it on so much I don't always connect certain albums or songs to what I was reading, but rather to the time when I was cought up in that cd,or whatever. I do associate certain cd's with certain paintings or projects I've done. Like Howie Day's "Stop the World Now" I did a buch of black and white contrast paintings.

Re: Creating a soundtrack to your books

I usually don't like having music on when I'm reading. Whenever I listen to music I always have my own music video running through my head. Thus I have to be paying attention to one or the other.

-Hey do you hear that? Is that screaming?
-Nope, that ner vod is simply the sound of natural selection at its finest.

Re: Creating a soundtrack to your books

That is really interesting big_smile

I must admit that as much as I love listening to music I have never though of music to go along with the story that I am reading. Though maybe one of the reasons is because I am dyslexic so I have to concentrate a lot when I am reading.
