Topic: Death skull

Everyone knows the skull when they see it as the skull on Fetts shoulder. The actual pics of it are a little different from what is floating around. Does anyone know when or why it was changed? For instance, the tusks appears to be attached to the skull on actual pic's of his shoulder but any image of it show them not to be.

Re: Death skull

The "Death skull" was never changed. On the coves of books and what not, the ink spread out lightly, and connected. It is also possible that the artist(s) did not have enough space. Covers of books, comics, etc. are not canon. By the way, it is a Mythosaur skull.

Re: Death skull

A lot of different ideas of what the skull is. When I talked to Jeremy Bulloch about it, he called it a death skull so that is what I'm calling it. My understanding it is more of a symbol than a pic of the remains of an animal.

Re: Death skull

Does anyone have a good movie pic of it? It just appears that with the real symbol the tusks are connected unlike every pic else where.

I wasn't trying to start a debate on the skulls name, just trying to figure out if there was a change with it.

Too bad they don't have a picture of a mythosaur. Anyways at 1st I thought it kinda looked like the reek's skull, you know the one Jango killed? I thought Boba put it there in memory of the last creature Jango ever killed and to remeber Jango's death itself. But, I was wrong.

Re: Death skull

Are there tusks on Mythosaur skeleton?  In the comic?  Or are they covered by the spaceship?

Sadly enough, no, I don't think there are.  I doubt it was originally supposed to be the same animal on Boba's shoulder pad, so they don't line up exactly.

Re: Death skull

While we're on the subject, what's the little feather in a circle emblem on his right breastplate supposed to mean?

Re: Death skull

As far as I know, that has not been revealed.

Re: Death skull

Hmm, I wonder if we'll ever get a canon answer to that one...

Re: Death skull

I think i saw one really good theory I saw somewhere on this site...

Re: Death skull

I heard once that it was called a wheat symbol, and it was used by the journeyman protectors.

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

Re: Death skull

Hiya, I'm new here, just wanted to join in the discussion.

I heard that it was a Fett clan symbol.  Because Fett, or Vhett in Mando, meant farmer.  And the Fetts were originally farmers....

*shrugs*  Dunno, that's just another idea...

Re: Death skull

Cassus was not a farmer. Also, it could not have been the Fett clan symbol, as it was originally worn by Jaster. Jango wore it breifly while wearing Jaster's armor.

Re: Death skull

You're probably right.  And no, Cassus wasn't a farmer.  But Fett, or Vhett, does mean "farmer" in Mando'a.  (See Bloodlines, Ch. 6 page 121, second paragraph past the dialoge.)  Yes I'm such a geek I looked it up!  LOL!

I sat in on a Fett panel at CIII and there were all kinds of ideas and theories tossed around about all things Fett.  It was really interesting to hear all the ideas and opinions.  The wheat symbol was discussed, but I have to admit by that point I was going on caffiene and about 3 hrs of sleep!   LOL!

I figure it will eventually be fully explained in a future book.  smile

Re: Death skull

Ya, I get that Vhett means farmer, but it is in fact Fett... not vhett. Unless somehow you can translate a name to mandoa... which if logical linguistics apply, you dont.

Good... Bad... I'm the one with the gun.

Re: Death skull

In Bloodlines, p 121 it says (quote)

"Vhett was just the pure Mando'a form of "Fett"".

Fett is giving Vhett as his last name at passport control.

I took it to mean that Vhett was the Mando'a form of Fett's name, which means farmer.  smile

(I'm not trying to argue.  HATE arguing.  smile )
