Alcohol is not the answer. I know, my grandfather was an alcoholic and it killed him in the end. No one missed him either, the man was a monster.

Unfortunately we can be blind when in love. I'm sure you'll sit down and be able to pick the signs that something was wrong in hindsight.

I know when I met Brendan (my hubby) he had been through a very bad break up. His girlfriend of 4 years started seeing another guy and didn't even have the guts to break up with him. He had to do it. She had been a total b*tch to him and he was so unsure of himself it made me want to cry at times.

But he's a different person now, he had a supporting best friend and when we met I accepted him for who he was and he did the same for me.

He has told me that he had thought at the time that the other girl was the one. But he realised since that wasn't the case.

I'm sure the right girl is waiting for you, she may not be around yet. But when the time comes, you'll be so glad that you're not with the girl you thought was perfect. You'll see. Things tend to happen for a reason, there's someone out there who'll love you as much as you love them. It just wasn't this girl.

Think about Dr. Jekyll. The serum was a metaphor for alcohol. He turned into a monster.

Honestly, that was not intended as a joke.

and with all the pain in the world, the heart is the thing which many of us would like to have never have had. but remember, to live without passion is to live in peace, but to live without passion means we are truly dead. hearts heal over time, and with that, never lose hope of passions of the heart for if you do, you lose all hope in life.

ITS HARD I know!! but believe me it passes, the pain never last forever, I was with a guy about 4 years, im 20, i met him when i was 15, i really thought he was my truly love, and ive never loved anybody like i loved him, but he cheated on me, he obviously didn’t think like me, i was just devastated, imagine, 4 years and then nothing!! i felt i was going to die, so i totally understand you, really and i mean it, but thrust me it will pass and you will feel better soon, you will find someone that really love you, and never leave you, never! so don’t cry for a person that doesn’t deserve it, i know it sound easy and it is not, but think about that there is around still around your real love, your soul mate and it wasn’t her, so came on you can handle this, don’t give up...!!

I can't say from personal experience thatI know what your going through. But I have been in the middle of a hell of a lot of breakups between my friends. Looking through this list of comments your probably saying, "I can't just let it go." And we all know its not that easy, you just need to get something to take your mnd off of it. Take up a hobby or try to get a friend to help you loosen up. Just don't punch him in the face when your anger builds up. Its not his fault.

I know how you feel. The same thing (more or less) happened to me 2 or 3 times with the same girl. She kept coming back and saying "Sorry, I really do love you..." Yeah right, she didn't. Shows how stupid I was. Anyway, as Dark Clone said, it gets better, just give it some time.

Replacing your old girlfriend isn't the best thing to do. You need time to heal and think things over. You don't want to be jumping into another relationship simply because you're lonely. You're just asking for more heartache.

You're better off hugging your cat or dog and telling them your problem. They won't break your heart or leave you. Once you're over her, then find someone.
