There's an idea.  Everyone who supports our cause, post it now.

Supports what cause?  Hating the Ailyn Vel story, or sending protest letters to the Insider editors?

Re: Aylin Vel

Well... I didn't spent much energy looking into this character when she came to my attention. So depending on how similar in personality I think she is to Boba, along with her own individual personality, that's how I'll decide if I like her or not.

As for Boba even having a child and an ex-lover....hmmmmm....
As much as it's out of his character to let himself become attached to someone, I believe he still has the right to. He is human after all. If this chick was good enough for Boba's standards then more power to them both.

Maybe she was enough for Boba's Standards...

But not for us Fan's STandards EH?

Haha! Excellent point!

Actually, I'd never even HEARD of Aylin Vel until this thread came along...

That's all that matters.

I think it's not her so much, as the story line, that gets me riled up.
Fett's a cool character.  If you're going to saddle him with romance, make it epic, make it tragic, make it powerful.  He deserves as much.
Instead, he gets an insipid 'dead beat' dad story line.  It's unbecomming for such an intense, amazing character.

Re: Aylin Vel

I must admit, the first time I read that story in Star Wars Tales with Sintas  and Fett. I assumed their baby had died and their relationship had deteriorated.

Now isn't that a better storyline?

Stupid writers.....

Much better.  It has a tragic air about it...

Re: Aylin Vel

All of those are very valid points which the writers of both that comic and Insider obviously failed to take into account.

Thus, they are on my bad side.  wink

Now that I realize all kinds of stuff gets posted on the Wikipedia stuff, I'm wondering if we shouldn't post alternative choices for Boba's story line?   Or, is that beyond the pale?

Re: Aylin Vel

From what Insider said about Mandalorians taking family so seriously, wouldn't it be against Fett's Mandalorian culture to leave his family in the first place IF he did have a wife and chld???  I myself had not heard of Ailyn Vel until about 2 months ago.  I have not read Star Wars Tales, but only Tales of the Bounty Hunters.

Re: Aylin Vel

I have never heard or seen anything that actually says Boba Fett was actually married to Sintas Vel.  That he had the daughter with her, yes, but not if they were married or not.  I think most people imply it, mainly because of Boba's discussion with Princess Leia in Jabba's palace, about sex outside of marriage.  But, who knows?  Maybe he left in order to keep them safe from his own enemies?

Plus, you have to remember, that even though Boba was Mandalorian, he didn't have the chance to be fully immersed in the Mandalorian culture and traditions, since his upbringing by Jango was cut pretty short.  Everything after that, he pretty much had to take what he already had learned from Jango and then go from there.  That's probably why Boba is considered a better bounty hunter.  He's as adept and talented as Jango was, but he's a little more ruthless and driven.  Boba has that "growing up on the mean streets" edge to him.  Whereas, Jango was raised in the more controlled and militaristic environment, while under Jaster Mereel's tutelage and his warriors.

Re: Aylin Vel

Yes, nice Sadriel!  smile  Good point--Boba did pretty much have to take things as they came and adapt to them.

Re: Aylin Vel

About what somebody said about Ailyn Vels character...she is obsessed with try ing to kill Boba Fett.  That demonstrates that she has a very limited mental capacity, and is all the more reason to hate her.
