Yeah. If I didn't have to understand all that complicated arithmethic s*, I'd just burn these books because they're so deeply boring. But if I want to widen my job possibilities as a web designer I have to be able to read/write code and detangle it when it's badly done and full of crap. Java and PHP are a very limit minimum, there's even more. Pretty designs alone aren't enough anymore over here. sad

If I didn't have the internet I couldn't get help online when I stun myself in deep boredom/confusion with overly technical Javascript/PHP books. And to think I used to have a head for numbers. Ugh.

I would lose touch with so many people! And could not hope to contact the people I haven't seen in a long time. Like my friend Jacques. I am still unsure of his last name but when I am sure of it (maybe my mom remembers it) I'll certainly look him up, he was a cool guy.

My eldest daughter found her dad again thanks to FB. A few years ago I was having a serious bad time, and I met several friends on FB and in other places then online, that I'm still in touch with, precious people, but they're far away from me. Some are in Europe, some in South America, one of my friends keeps travelling around the world all the time. Heck, it would be quite a loss if I had to lose touch with all of them.

And as I want to work as either a Webmaster or a videogame texturer pretty soon, I guess I'd have to consider a different path for a career.. THAT would be a really bad heartbreak. I love doing what I do, and I'd love to do it for a living in a couple months.

I don't have the laid back, "yes, let's waste my entire life so one day when I'm 70 I'll wake up and realize I'm too old to live my life because I wasted it and threw it away" sort of outlook.

Just think, the world used to operate without Internet, and so when people say it would be awful, it would just mean you would be reverting back to older ways. Those ways worked fine, things just took longer, and honestly does time really matter so much? Native American tribes like the Hopis didn't even have a word for time so when you think about it, time means nothing.
